Ladies, gents and teddy bears; it is difficult not to love the F-22 Raptor. What is it about the Raptor that you like about it? The looks, the way it moves? Let us know in the comments. Oh doesn’t she ride low whilst taxiing… let’s low ride!
Although my preference is for the Typhoon, I have to say that the following is hugely impressive: 7:30, it starts whistling then creeps forward; 7:37 after only (seemingly) a plane's-length, the roar is enhanced by the fiery glow; eight more seconds, and the front wheel lifts; another 2 and there is no more need for runway... Astonishing. And, or course, thanks Nikos/Ted for being there to present the Raptor spectacle as a digest. 👍👍👍
I love the F-22, but the F-15 goes all the way back to my youth in the 1970s. I had a door size poster of an F-15 in the vertical as an 8-year-old. It's always been my first love.
I'm 54 so the Eagle has been in service for most of my lifetime. Other craft have come and gone (such as the Panavia Tornado) but the remarkable F15 keeps going on 😊
@@RandomDudeOne Yeah, the EX is a monster too. I'm glad to hear there is foreign interest in the aircraft and that the USAF is buying more than the 100 or so they planned originally. Raptors and F-35's are cool, but the EX is armed to the teeth! :)
Oiii oiii Ellesee you are most welcome. The buzz around the viewing area showed how special this was. On their arrival too, everyone clapped when they all landed. It was spectacular
One of my favourite things about the Raptors is the howl of those engines- it's 👻 One of the most beautiful fighter jets ever made. Thank you for capturing these moments and sharing them with us on YT. 👏
I think the most unique sound of the F119 is the almost metallic ringing noise through the exhaust during taxi. It's something you just don't hear on other engines. Once you hear it you don't forget it.

Now that's a sight you dont see every day ! And an unfamilliar sound I've never heard in person. Reading Nikos' stats sheet, in afterburner that's 70,000 lbs of thrust, giving the Raptor a thrust to weight ratio of just over 1.6. Utterly insane. The exaust pipes look like a pair of squinting eyes 👁👁 The drop tanks look the same as those used on F-16C/D, if I'm not mistaken. Does AK on the (not quite) vertical stab.s indicate Anchorage ? Admiring the RAM paint glinting in the sunlight, fascinating how many shades of grey there are ! The plane looks like it's wrought out of forged iron.
Oii oiii Trespire, a rare sight in the UK and what a sound they make. They have a very distinct sound, a howl and they sit very low too, makes me think they also went for looks on this aircraft (not that does anything for combat). The power stats are unbelievable with 70,000lbs of thrust and I didn’t know the thrust vectors move independently too, which means it can do some crazy things in the air. Thanks for your input 🤙🏼have a great day
