One of the most beautiful songs ever made... I'm 35 yrs old now and remember hearing this record as a child in my grandma's house. It hits differently now when you've been thru some things, are going thru some things, and got over some things... Be optimistic. Believe and keep the faith. God is always within🫶🏾✨️🫶🏾
I’m Mexican born in 82 trust me the early 90s was amazing i remember that time the shows Martin living single the cosbys and many more was about the power of uplifting the black community and teaching them education and peace the music was something we had Tupac wit his poetry Queen latifah wit her song U.N.I.T.Y and the powerful words of being respected and not being called a bitch EN Vogue telling everyone to free our minds.. and I loved all of that time the days were brighter the afternoons you would see people outside mowing lawns water the plants kids playing hide and seek it was a blast people where more real
Enough of the optimistic slogans. Now we need to plan and organize to get shyte done! Time is ticking. Idleness and slowness will get US NOWHERE! Wake your ass up you mighty people! And let's get to work!
My mom would play this song and "Keep On Moving" by Soul 2 Soul all the time when I was growing up. My childhood was rife with positive black images and cultural expression. She kept me grounded to be an upstanding black man so not to fall victim to the stereotypes that the prevailing society promotes of us. This song reminds me of her lessons. I salute her in this song. She's alive and well and I pray that God keeps her healthy and elevated in her consciousness and pride.
Your Mom started you off on a awesome start with powerful uplifting spiritual music around you. I hope you continue to pass it on to your own children and others as well 😁Keep it going !! God most certainly will for your mom ! Remember He answers every prayer 🙏🏽
This song is so special to me …. For so many reasons that I’m unable to list here. So many memories 🥲…..so many dreams. Such an inspiring song. Thank you for such a great song.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽‘keep your head in the sky’🎵🎤❤
Unfortunately Robert L. Johnson, who created the network, the original Black Owner & Entrepreneur sold BET for billions in 1998. That was & unfortunate day, the end of something entirely for us. He had billions but is now just a millionaire as some of his ventures did not do as well as BET. It was bought by Viacom, now Paramont is the current owner. Many things are stolen from us by others & then we sell off our things for money! Wrong move. It is better to have Ownership! Now others.. not many blacks run the company & have the final decisions on what get aired sadly. A grave mistake which he probably regrets.
Celebrating Black History Month-Sounds Of Blackness. (Based out of St. Paul Minnesota, this choir sings practically every genres of music. From jazz and R&B to my favorite, gospel-spirituals. They are awesome you guys.) I know you know this song. Makes me want to dance.
This is STILL such an awesome song! Undoubtedly one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES! Fantastic vocals, a powerfully uplifting message and a killer baseline! I loved it when it was first released in 1991 and I'm still listenin' and lovin' it in 2022!
3:17 "I know the storms and strife cloud up your outlook on life. Just think ahead and you'll be inspired to reach higher and higher. You will learn to do your best if u learn to say never say never. You maybe down but you're not out.." I feel that every time and get emotional.
I think this would be a great anthem for a school graduation because its telling you that you can do all things just keep your head to the sky, think positive.
The lead singer reminds me of patty lebelle, anita baker and aretha franklin all rolled into one, gospel singers never get enough credit for their talent like the secular singers do.
Black Folks Keep Your Heads Up..There are a Lot of Things That Are Out There That Can Bring Us Down If You Let It. Believe In The LORD..Believe in Yourself.
why is this so damn motivational to me?? i feel like the black rocky listening to this. i feel like i can do anything!!! like i can seriously save the children of the world and shit

I’ve loved the strength and the hope & positive faith of this song since first hearing it. I’m sharing it with younger people, especially in the black community who may not have heard it! You can absolutely win, as long as you keep your head to the sky. Thanks for this beautiful, timeless song & video!
Just the looks, colors and sounds of the 90's is EVERYTHING. seems like black people were more cultured back then.....man music was soooo much livelier than this mess that's out now
KG DA yesss black people were more conscious spiritually through their African roots. The white man said no no no let’s take this African consciousnesses music away from them and give them trap music and etc. smh. I sure wish black ppl would wake up on these last days
***** the answer to your question is simple one: people dont know what is good music anymore. they tend to follow the crowd or bandwagon out there and not forgetting the media hype to this days trash called music.

A lot of people have screwed me over. Most black people. They have not broken any laws so I can't sue them.

That is a great question
I think they called gangster rap that started using foul language and putting black men and women down.
The music changed. The audience changed. And record labels are gone

BET replaced it with derogatory music.
