Why did you use regular wood instead of pressure treated wood? Regular wood will require yearly painting or the wood will rot when exposed to the elements year round.
I try to avoid using pressure treated wood because of the chemicals used to make it. If you use an exterior stain it will add a lot of protection to the elements and will last much longer than a year. But if you want to use pressure treated wood, go for it.
