- This invention makes you faster on a mountain bike! I ride the K.I.S stability system on my Canyon Torque MTB in Whistler on full speed trails, huge jumps and crazy tech downhill and I can't believe how good it works!
I'm out in Whistler, Canada riding my Canyon Torque with a crazy new invention called the K.I.S designed by Syntace and it is a system that helps the stability which in return helps you have more control at speed and also while smashing berms and turns and jumps! This is available to add to all bikes but will also come hidden inside some models of the Canyon bikes and if you wanna know more about it then you can find the info here:
www.canyon.com...
So sit back and watch some amazing trails be ridden in the best riding location in the world, Whistler!!
I hope you enjoy the video!

Do they make one for steering wheel bikes? We all know they're the future ;)
Hell’s teeth Sam, seeing you do that YOLO line made me wonder why you don’t race downhill! You were rapid
yeah, that was insane!
I was thinking the same thing.
It looked sped up! but I know it wasn't, that was insanely fast
Sam, I love your videos, really aprecciate them, often I watched them with whole family and we all having wonderfull time, BEST mtb-Ytuber
I couldn't believe the speed both Sams have. The lower A line, Sam's reflexes are insane, does he travel at normal rider speeds and think it's slow motion? Damn he's fast.
love your new sponcer from canyon and all your sense of humor, happy trails boy!!!
The speed into lower a line was insane
How is no one talking about it 😮
I didn't believe it but Sam selling it to me is another thing 😂 the power of positivity.
The power of having an extremely talented rider that can make any gimmick look good.
@@NikolaiVozza people thought suspension is a gimmick when hard tails were popular
Two absolute champs on a shredy day out. Could watch that all day, Dreams 🤙
dude, the section at 6:30 that was fast
Was so stoked to see you in whistler hope you enjoyed it here
Sweet stuff! I'm guessing you already realized HyperSmoooth was off but it definitely gives a sense of how chunky some of those tech trails are! Cheers, Canada loves you (I speak for my country)
love the two Sam's together, great energy 💪
Great vid Sam I just figured if you had a pair of very thick elastic bands you could thread each one through your forks and over your bars then you would get a similar effect!😃
It's like the crazy innovations from the 90s are coming back! Bring back the DCD 😂
Sam riding with a flat rear tire is the same speed I ride on my best days haha
It’d be cool to see a comparison video of you riding with a normal but experienced rider
His brother Louie… he’s a normal guy but got good experience on the pedals. He’s not just a good looking face and boss man camera operator 🤣
Had to watch most of that through my fingers 😮😬😬😬 looked so fast, so gnarly and super dangerous!! 🤣😂 and thats why you are who you are 🔥🔥🔥
Just got the Canyon Torque it’s sick! I got the large battery and I wasn’t able to kill it even climbing 2700 feet of single track! Gonna try it on a big ride next week! To the sky!!!!!!!
cool video, as always! i'm sure you don't recall but i met you in line for tickets on saturday up at whistler.. nice to meet you in person and shake your hand, thanks for all the super rad content!
Yolo woods 😬💯 insane riding there Sam 🤪
Only Sam can make it even more fun when you have a flat tire!… lol 🍻
King👑
dona bike collection check ! keep up the good work! 🎉
6:30 Dude that was nutty! wow! 🤯
6:38 Shit is he going fast🔥🔥
Sam was actually flying at 6:35 holy cow
Very simple and very effective, I like it🤘
No hand su of dreams🤪
YOLO woods is the greatest, thanks for sharing that!
I think the logical evolution of this system are air shocks. I could imagine this to be pretty helpful especially to newer riders (like myself).
I had an adjustable Ohlins hydraulic steering damper on my WRF 450 20 years ago - great device for fast trail riding... I'm surprised they have not made the same thing for MTB bikes... they do nice suspension stuff...
Hopey made one a while ago, quite a few pros used it but it never really caught on…
No one gets speed wobbles on MTBs.....why would we need a damper?
That's what i was thinking... We had an amazing hydraulic steering stabilizer brand that I think is still around today called PRECISION, on our race quads. It was a must have for any experienced racer. I can't believe something like that isn't around for MTBs. Instead of this simple spring setup.
Isn't there a company who makes a headset which is like turning your bars through treacle? Not sure if its adjustable or has special bearings, or how it adjusts...
@@Chrissy-HCane Creek Viscoset.
I just loven sam's watch. 🤣
Good one Pilgs!
The cameraman always has the best view. 👍
Freakin love it as always! Thanks Sam! :oD
Been waiting for this one! interesting to see how it works in action
Today was EPIC, Sam you rock! Peace
Need more of the 360 camera!
Knowing Sam, he was riding around with 50psi in tubes 😂
80 lol
Sounded like it lol
Sam you need to go down to Derby and Maydena in Tasmania! You’ll love it!
6:30, you are insane man!
Sam do a trip to the USA and meet up with scotty Cranmer and the crew! Think it would be a good collab 👍🏼
Litevilles/ Syntace‘s K.I.S is sick 👍
i could tell it was Whistler just from the Thumbnail. So sick
Awesome as always ✌️❤️
K.I.S. is like letting the wheel go in your car- it's going to go straight. Making it mountable to any frame is the real genius- you don't have to buy a new bike to get it.
Cars go straight because of the caster geometry of the suspension, basically like a supermarket trolley wheel. MTB's actually have reverse caster, where the wheel should want to flop to each side because its ahead of the headtube pivot point - its only the gyro effect of the wheel that counters this and makes it possible to roll along no-handed. So KIS is subtly different in how it re-centres your steering, but should have a similar effect of allowing riders to loosen their grip on the bars by adding some stability. I can't wait to try it out someday.
yeah I wanna know where I can get a mountable one
@@Chrissy-Habsolutely not. Bikes also have the caster effect thanks to the "trail". The wheel is behind the directions axle thanks to the head tube angle. Otherwise it would be impossible to ride without your hands on the handlebar. The KIS has the opposite effect, it does not offer direct stability like the caster effect, but it makes the handlebar easier to handle and turn from one side to the other faster.
@@Simzy every days a school day. But it’s called trail not caster in bikes. I guess the only thing is that that effect can only happen when your tyres are on the floor and have grip, which isn’t always the case in MTB’s.
@@Chrissy-H Right, the bike's "trail" - as it relates to the self-centering effect of the steering system - is irrelevant when the front tire leaves the ground. At that point, the only thing affecting the steering position of a stock bike is said bike's relative position.
K.I.S. and similar devices actively influence the speed and force of the steering system's return to center, independently of the presence of "trail"; elastic potential energy is stored in the spring(s) and then is released as kinetic energy. Said release causes the bars to whip in the opposite direction, following the springs' returning to their equilibrium position.
Granted, there's no damping here - the rider's manual input is required to regulate this movement to the extent that the bars are kept from wobbling from side to side. Separately, spring length/position and spring tension should be a consideration when it comes to fine tuning things.
I'm not an expert, though... did I leave anything out?
A trail called "Fatcrobat", that's fun. And at 6:38 I almost wrecked off my couch because it looked like same was about to eat a tree!
Sam, I love the idea of you sat with Canyon's design team "Yes the KIS system is good, but you put a steering wheel on a bike; a wooden frame and maybe it's a tall bike or made from a bedhead, with slack penny farthing geometry..."
like the virtual headstick 😂
Saw you fixing ya tires by the lift line 😂😂
Yea king🤘
😎 Thus ist cool for No Handing landing 🤔😲 im Speak Not english 😔 your the best 👍🚲😎
I am probably missing something but, where can you get the universal version for bikes other than Canyon?
I actually really want one of these!
I wish I could ride my bike but my vertigo won't allow it. Feel blessed you haven't been stuck in a chair not able to move like me for last 2 years.
Sam hope you read this mate, you should try and get to the new BURLISH BIKE PARK in stourport near Kidderminster uk its ace would love to see you there so my kids could meet you 🤟🏼😁🤟🏼
Bikes are getting so good they ride themselves
Saw you the night before joyride, thank you for the sushi! 😂
Always good videos
That bike looks more expensive then some people's rent... yet he's unfraid to literally send it down some sketchy rocks
sam pilgrim was like morty after standing on perfectly flat ground, he can never go back to the way things were
6:32 damnnn
WOW Sam!!! 🤩
Feels like these would be great for people that steer to much instead of leaning into corners to get them in the habit of leaning to steer.
i need one of these for the pump track because the wind slows me down
6:30 😮😮😮
Hey Sam, I was expecting you at Crankworx, you said you were doing speed and style and another one. What happened to prevent you from competing?
Does the kis system help with whips at all? Being that turning the bars could drag the whip out a bit further..?
This kinda reminds me of a steering stabilizer for dirtbikes it makes me wonder if there's a similar stabilizer setup for mountain biking I think you'd need triple clamps like a dirtbike to run the style I'm thinking of.
Can I get the KISS system for my truck for those days when I'm just too lazy to use the steering wheel?
Hey Sam I was just wondering why you don’t ride the Sender in my park?
This actually looks insane bet it costs a bit though!
It’s a £400 upgrade on the Syntace CF8
@@sjv6598 I'd like to see how those springs work caked in mud....looks like a prototype to me nowhere near a finished product.
much love power tho sam pil ❤
Alien green I just got a sick bike that color
Try to make a bar spin, where it snaps back, brand new trick🤘🤣
Would that device work on the underside of the top bar so it's out the firing line of a nut slice if you lose a foot of the pedal. If it all comes apart it looks like it could but if it doesn't you couldn't get the attachments either side of the head tube so no. Cant really tell without a close look at it.
I had a look at the device and it looks like it’s something canyon were doing internally in the frame of the bike, I couldn’t find it standalone so guess he’s just testing the system out but looks like it originally came about towards the end of last year, you can currently buy the spectral with it installed
It would work yes.
mint
My immediate first thought was the danger they thing poses to one’s groin 😅
really nice (s)watch bro
Hay sam you should visit Leeds mtb its sick
Does this stop you being able to do Barsps?
Was it Seth’s bike hacks that did this before? Looks scary
YOLO Woods was terrifying
Ohlins been doing them for years on motorbikes. Just a dampener . Wait till they release one it’ll be smart with there forks
I do think its to help you stop steering correction all the time so get faster times, you should leave it on for a bit,, couple months then try without and see if your steering correction goes down,
Do Kiss + riser stem!
If you remove one spring from the kiss system does it help with learning bar spins 😅
Sick ✌️
Awesome invention 🎉🎉
“Aww it’s slippy” and “ Ohh it’s nice and wet” that’s what she said 😂😂😂
Does the KIS markup the top tube?
Hey Sam! Did you end of racing Speed and Style at Crankworx?
love the work man u are just a such a good guy u are why i started mtb and i got my new v10 for my birthday thamks of u love the work
Cringe
you are amazing
Seth had already reviewed this thing and came up with the same conclusion.
Youre a good-tuber
this system is amazing 🤩
If i buy a whole bike this new groundbreaking idea will still be fitted to where THE WATER BOTTLE GOES OR TRAVEL PUMP 😂
when comes the barspin-push-assist? ^^
Good man Sam the tooth fairy needs to give you a top notch bike for Christmas next, over some balls I'm sitting just looking at this.
Wow that kiss is absolutely a game changer specially in the world of downhill more videos with Reynolds if possible he’s always Has a few tricks to pull off on the trail because he’s crazy lol
Think the point is it isn't needed but could be nice. Sam feeling it is weird off is natural bc the body gets conditioned to it.
