This sample and the voice in the background is from the song 1937s song "trouble so hard" from vera hall. Very famous.
I suggest you reading into it a little bit.
He licensed it so he could use it.
The beat and the production once again done all by himself.
he dropped a short a couple hours ago, showing how he turned that sample into what i think she referred to as the scratches early on in the video, it's actually kinda amazing.

After having listened to Ren's Chapter Series Intently and multiple times, this track just encapsulates his story so well and serves as musical accompaniment for The Chapters. Ren's experiences are very familiar to me to say the least, as is often the case with many of his supporters. Ren's success is so deserved and I do truly hope it continues. Ren is the medicine many of us need. So raw, combined with his naturally emotive performance! Indeed Ren....Your Limo has finally arrived..
And yes, if you want to know his FULL story, listen to the "Chapters" on his second channel RenMakesStuff.
There he told the full story up until he got his stem cell treatment.
Very raw and very hard to listen to, but honest and real to the core.

Great reaction Andrea. If you want a bit more background you can look at Chapters 1-8 where Ren tells his story in the lead up to the release to this track. They were originally on his other channel but have now been copied to his main channel too. These are worth a look regardless of whether you react to them - in fact given the nature of them I think they do not lend themselves to reaction but simply to viewing and understanding. Definitely check out more info on Vera Hall. Her mother was a slave and she grew up listening to her mom singing. Maybe check out Moby's Natural Blues which samples Vera as well. Loved this video!
Just adding a bit to your knowledge of Ren. He was always making music, started with making beats etc at 10-11. By 18-19 when he contracted Lyme disease he had been in a band, did busking on regular basis and got signed by Sony. He briefly mentions losing all this early in the song. Thats part of the triumph of regaining the music after the stem cell trt. and now the continuing treatment and recovery.

Beautiful reaction, Andrea. Ren loves the song which he uses throughout this video, Trouble So Hard - Vera Hall. He busks it in a You Tube video. Leading up to the release of Trouble, Ren dropped his narration of his "troubles" in 8 Chapters, quite an extraordinary listen when you get time, not necessarily for reaction but as a fellow musician, I think you'll enjoy them. Each one finishes with a song from his catalogue. Very uplifting. With regards religion, I would describe Ren as conflicted. He references God in so many songs. from Dear God to Lost all Faith. At the end of Eden, with all the religion references, he says at the end "Myself, I'm an agnostic who believes, I believe in us".
Such an in-depth and super observant reaction, loved it. I really enjoy the way Ren makes all his own beats and in the this it was so amazing.

It looks like the limo came in by chance. When he looked back and looked back at the camera, he had that big smile. Like, Wow. I can't believe that happened. I'm keeping that shot.
I think they may have hired that limo as I’ve seen footage of him sitting in a limo…yes, it looks like they just showed up.

Dont know if the limo was a surprise,but he used footage of it in the begining when he was ejected from the cockpit and then at the end where it arrived (again?) . I thought it represented his career.

First, Andrea, I loved your discussion on the musicality/melodic aspect of this (and many Ren tracks). I feel you there. I'm old and had pigeonholed all of rap into the lyrical and non melodious category AND dismissed it. That is, until the pandemic when I began exploring more. I found that some melodies are carried by the lyrics with the lyrics used as extra percussion. Then I found artists like Ren who included full melodies into their songs. It has really opened me up to so much more music.
As for negative commenters, are you all so narcissistic that you believe that the reactor will read your post and apologize and change? Or are you trying to make them feel so bad they quit? Listen, if *YOU* don't like something, you have four options. Click away from content you don't like. Down vote the content and then click away. Post constructive yet encouraging comments in hopes the reactor grows. OR, post a negative comment just to garner a reaction... well you got ME to react to the negative comment. I was going to put this as a reply to the negative comment but decided to make it more general.
We all come at a piece of music, comedy, news with different life experiences and perspectives. If all you want is someone to cry about how horrible Ren has had it, there are a ton of reactions to Ren content that will give you what you want. Andrea comes to this with a musical background so, is it any surprise she actually listened to the music? I, for one, appreciate the musical view she brought and could see that Ren's story also touched her. She even mentioned, first, that she didn't know his story was that harsh and second, that she loved the message. My lord, what else can you ask for?!
My suggestion is, if you can't leave constructive criticism in a constructive way.... stop typing crap with your twitter bruised fingers. You just come across as a massive narcissist and arse.

I love your reactions. Ren is not religious. He was raised by hippies and he is agnostic but he loves to use religious themes in his songs.
He is not religious, but he's definitely spiritual. He is clearly open minded to something beyond our existence.
Ren does believe there is a God/creator. He just doesn't know what form or name said entity is. He is definitely not religious. He tried many different religions when he was sick. But he does believe there is some sort of God in control of everything. He has stated that music is the closest thing to God he has been able to find.
@joshuawiedenbeck6944 yeah, his music has a spiritual connection that's undeniable. But religion is another corruption like politics and capitalism, and so he's likely to hold it in the same contempt as the others

His lyrics towards the end of this track also suggest the same: "Lord, I forgive you. Lord, I forgive you. Lord I forgive you, make me whole". My view is that anyone who experiences intense pain will pray to someone.

His salvation at the end comes from a stem cell doctor. Not divine, but human intervention. His plea at the end isn't for prayer, but for humans to act

I couldnt even watch half this reaction. Seems to me you were only paying attention to the background music instead of his story.
She did point out at the end that it was a beautiful message but you missed that. When I first heard this track I couldn't focus on the words as my attention was drawn to the beautiful videography and the rich layers of sound behind the rapping. Before Ren I couldn't care less about rapping. My first music was in the 60s when no one had a clue what any of the lyrics meant unless it was a straight forward love song. Apart from Bob Dylan we tended to focus on the music first. After all, I am the Egg man. I am the Walrus. Goo goo gu ju
@patrickquinlan3056 I'm a country guy and hate rap but I do love Rens music and raps. He's a special artist. I never pay attention to the music because his message and stories are far more important heart felt. I usually like her reactions but hate when people pay more attention to the music instead of the lyrics.
@@BluRadoZ71 She seems to be reading the lyrics as she is listening to the music, and she makes several references to the story that Ren is telling. Quiet often with Ren's tracks you have to listen to them several times to really get the lyrics anyway, this is just her initial reaction.

Seems to me that you weren't paying attention. Andrea is an artist too, so she's hearing the words and picking up all the other stuff most reactors miss too. Maybe your bias is getting in your own way?
