Happy to hear of another player who paved their way in the pro scene with boros burn! I went "pro" about 3.5-4 years ago, before I had to quit playing to take care of my newborn daughter. But I played nothing BUT boros burn when I toured on SCG and Magic Fest. I was actually one of the guys who introduced Deflecting Palm into the main deck. My deck list got posted on channel fireball and a few other sites, after a high placing at the world championship qualifiers. I quit shortly after that, right before more people started playing Deflecting Palm in their main or sides lol. Just now rebuilding the deck piece by piece (trading deflecting palms for mishras baubles right now though). I'm extremely excited to come back to competitive play. I'll be starting off in local sanctioned events again, just to get comfortable doing it again. Then I'll be working my way back into opens, PTs, qualifiers, etc. it feels so good to be back. And of course, burn hasn't gone ANYWHERE! Lol. Too good of a deck. Always going to be meta. Sorry, burn haters lol. But anyways, love the deck list, dude! I wish you all the best in your future events! And hell, you might even see me there sometime in the near future! I'll be sure to come say hey! We'll have to get a game in too😎
Why not 4 swift spear 4 dragon rage channeler 4 eidolon and run 4 mishaps bauble. I was told goblin guide them on attack wasn't great vs bauble look at the top of any library and draw a card. Iv had 3 swift spear and 3 baubles it feels good turn 2
I LOVE palm. I started using it back in like 2019/early 2020, when I was playing on scg tour. Works really well. I wouldn't overdo it by running 3-4. But running 1-2 might really come in clutch in a lot of matchups. I'm currently running one in my SB right now, actually
In a few cases you play Turn 1 Swiftspear into Turn 2 suspend Rift Bolt. It seems like you could get equal damage by suspending the rift bolt turn 1 and making up the damage from the extra prowess trigger while getting access to the rift bolt damage to any target earlier. Is there a reason to play the swiftspear first?
Yup. You can only get the value out of it by already having a Swiftspear on the board before you suspend the rift bolt. Rift bolt's suspend is for 1 turn. It can be "cast" without paying its mana cost, after all time counters on it are removed. And that time counter gets removed at the very beginning of your upkeep. Meaning rift bolt will trigger, and be cast on your upkeep. If you don't have Swiftspear already on the board by then, you won't have a chance to cast it before the rift bolt gets cast from exile. Therefore, you will not get your prowess trigger. If you T1 Swiftspear, then cast another Swiftspear and suspend your rift bolt on T2, on your upkeep of T3, rift will trigger, get cast, and will trigger prowess on both Swiftspears (if you have two obviously).
Why does burn no longer play Lightning Helix and also Kor Firewalker in the board? With all the burn in the meta now due to the one ring surely the maindeck lifegain and sideboard kor is a no brainer?
I also think Firecraft is a waste of a sideboard slot. way too slow and inefficient, burn already has a great matchup vs control decks so the un counterable clause is irrelevant
Hey there Seth good to see burn in all its glory 😜. As a long time burn player I have found that suspending RB on T1 is the best play most of the time. It gives you momentum for the rest of your plays.
Most lists are using four vortex main which is to combat cascade decks, the evoke elementals, and life gain (i.e. omaneth & archon) What do people think of two vortex main and two sb? Some lists have had success with this

I mean siding Wear/Tear against the second match was a no brainer, every artifact deck plays Urza Saga in the format
Don't love playing against burn but I gotta admit it keeps decks honest. Every deck needs to consider if they can hold up vs it.
56:37 It's because rhinos comes down and kills him on his upkeep

Can the Cascade decks have Spell Pierce? They'd cascade into Spell Pierce instead of Living End or Rhinos right?
Funnily enough some madmen do run spell pierce in Living End, saw them on Spike's and yellowhat's streams.
Hello ! Glad seeing you playing Burn :) What do you think about playing deflecting palm in SB ? Thanks !
Palm is good in SB

Mono White without Mana Tithe?!? Great stuff, sir. Very well played.

Nice vid thx 👍

Have you ever played against stasis? There's a lot of more obnoxious things in mtg than burn.
Stasis lock is rough
Stasis isn’t a Modern deck so that is irrelevant.
Most lists are using four vortex main which is to combat cascade decks, the evoke elementals, and life gain (i.e. omaneth & archon)
What do people think of two vortex main and two sb? Some lists have had success with this
I'll do what I want
That is a really unflattering picture of Seth on the thumbnail. Poor guy!
No wear/tear against saga? Brave..
Always down for Seth Manfield content
who is this?? it's not in the title or description and homie never introduces themself
why don't we play eidolon anymore?
Dies to removal, and scam stuff. 4 roiling has been stronger lately
5 ads in 20 minutes? I'm out.
So croaky
Hope not. Ain’t nothing worse than playing against burn
Stax, Stasis, Jace lock, Infect, Eggs, all worse than burn.
@@dkres82 none of this exist anymore in modern
@@dkres82
There’s this thing with burn…
People dont like it when their hyper expensive deck gets beaten by a deck with a fraction of their cost..🤣🤣
Lmao get bolted
Stay mad...🤣🤣🤣
