- My Road to the Whiskey 50 Off Road MTB Race - Was it a Huge Fail - The Story Behind the Race
This was hard to post, this took a long time to edit, I really just wanted to forget about the Whiskey 50 Off-Road Pro Mountain Bike Race and move on, but I suppose I should share the bad with the good on here to keep things feeling like real life.

Check out a great performance on the bike -----------> ua-cam.com/video/XyAHzC5TN2o/v-deo.html
Rob, you're being way too hard on yourself. You showed up (which by itself is more than most people do) and you stuck with it until the finish even when you felt like crap. Hell, you even kept thanking all of the volunteers you passed. You're at a much higher level than I am but this video reminded me of the first time I raced (rode?) Iceman after several years of the Slush Cup. My hamstrings started cramping at Williamsburg Rd and I pretty much had to walk or coast the rest of the way to Timber Ridge. It took me over 5 hours but dammit I finished. You may never meet me, but know that even this performance is inspiring to many of us out here in UA-cam land. Thank you and keep posting this awesome content!
Thanks for the feedback, wishing you the best at your next Iceman! Keep pedaling!
This coarse owned me yesterday. I’ve never walked so much even when I was fresh
At least you did it! 💪🏽
That reminded me of my first Marji attempt. I was in the side of the trail tossing my cookies. Two years later I finished, the main difference? At lest 20 degrees cooler! Love your videos, man!
Thanks man! Nice job coming back and getting it done.
I think you did a great job racing and being able to finish! The heat can be big problem especially with long climbs! I’m new to the area, there is a pretty amazing amount of places to ride! The Prescott Circle trail is something you might want to attempt! Also plenty of places to ride in Sedona and Flagstaff! Best of luck in your next challenge!
Thanks man. Not sure when I’ll be back to the Arizona area, but will look into the circle trail, 🙏🏽
@@BikeLifewithRob hey you’re welcome! Yeah, you definitely have a heck of a long drive! Haha! That Prescott Circle trail is around 55 miles! Some pro riders have been been completing it in about 4 1/2 hours! UA-cam it! I’m 71 and still love riding and will might try 15 mile Whisky run next year! Haha! Anyway have a great weekend!
@@ronanderson5736 thanks you too!
We love ya Rob! It's all good. Just keep uploading. We'll be here.
Thanks man.
You always thank everybody. Highly küel!
🤘🏽
Yes, definitely hang up your cleats and quit racing. That's just less competition for us. Haha. Just kiddin'. You did great, keep pedaling brotha!
Lol! 🤘🏽
I liked Fagstaff AZ! :)
I need to stop there and explore next time
