    The most important reason why there are many leftover women is that most of them are determined to find a rich husband. They believe someday a rich man with a handsome face will fall in love with them. All they need to do is to wait for the man to show up and hit on them in a café. However, the fact is that rich men always prefer young and hot girls under 25. Unfortunately, there is no chance for the leftover women to compete with young girls because rich men are really scarce. In Chinese, this is called 高不成低不就。

      It's more because these kind of videos appeal to a specific demographic, generally people who are interested in China culturally, linguistically or like me who's interested in Asia in general. I see it as more of an opinion piece as opposed to educational. But it's certainly interesting to explore foreign cultures through a familiar perspective. But I digress.
      Bottom line is it's niche content. Nothing to do with how intelligent or stupid the viewership is. Not everyone wants to spend 10 - 30 minutes listening to an opinion-piece on Chinese culture.
      Just the way it is.

    My Chinese tutor in Shanghai was a proud leftover woman. She was educated, professional, in her 40s, lived with her parents and very happy being single. I asked her what her parents thought about that, and she said, "They have no say - it's my life." She had equal disdain for the government in trying to "shame" women like her, calling them "leftover" as if they were unwanted losers. Her attitude? I watch similar topic on Al Jazeera talking about left-over women in Korea. One reason is that they watch too much Korean dramas, in which the man is always perfect and flawless, and Korean women then start to look for men like that.
    I think in china it is the same, because we watch a lot of Korean dramas, too. maybe more than the Koreans do.
    I dont like Korean dramas, they are not really and they are silly.

    • @coweatsman
      @coweatsman 8 років тому +35

      I don't think it's just TV dramas. It's the same story in many different countries. In the future in the west there will not be enough female partners for men because men are dropping out of university studies and will not constitute enough high income earners for the high income earning women. Women will not marry down. It's not that they are social snobs or "gold diggers" although many of them may be those things. It comes down to biological hypergamy. Even Iran is having this problem. Women complain about "Where have all the good men gone" (high income earners) and shaming "basement dwelling gamers" (on lower incomes) but it will not do any good.
      Best thing for young men is to prepare for Plan B of life and make yourself immune to the shaming barbs of of friends and family. If 80% of women want 20% of men there is no point in allowing yourself to be shamed for what is not your imbalance of mating preferences. Live happily as a single man. The soshoku danshi (herbivore men) of Japan are an inspiration here.

      +William Addison good insight

    • @formica.
      @formica. 8 років тому +6

      William Addison You are responding to attitudes in Western feminism which sounds to men like male bashing. Since caves, women have been the gatekeepers: men approach, propose, propose, propose, women reject, reject, reject, accept. This system has been enforced by men in the woman's family and tribe. It won't change, there is also the Darwin imperative. What is new and hurtful to men is the attitude of 3rd wave feminism superiority, where all men are considered rapists. First wave feminism in the 70's was more benign, all men were only considered insensitive unlistening sports addicts who could be patronizingly retrained.
      The video merged two unrelated phenomena, however. Every society has old maids. Unique to China is the communist one child policy coupled with a predilection for boys, which is still happening. "In 2005, China had 119 male births for every 100 female births, according to a study published in 2009 in the British Medical Journal."
      These extra men want fertile females for families; infertile old maids are of no value to them. Having children is key to the pay back custom of Chinese families: children take care of old parents. This is opposite to the US style, maybe other Western cultures, where parents take responsibility for their own lives,and pay forward thru their kids and grandkids. A healthier system than one where parents maintain control over their children throughout their adulthood using guilt and manipulation.

    • @williamaddison4020
      @williamaddison4020 8 років тому +5

      +f formica Thank you for your comment sir. I can definitely see where you're coming from. China never had the feminist movement that we had in the west which I think may mask some of the gynocentric tendencies of the culture. The one child policy with the predilection towards boys adds to this masking of latent gynocentrism. The key is that boys are preferred because boys are charged with the care of and provision for the bulk of the society so there is definitely a bias towards male children, just like a farmer has a bias towards strong mules vs. weak ones.
      This is also a part of the reason for the asymetrical views towards male and female, "utility" in the sense that it is wrong for a man to deem a woman as useless while the opposite isn't true because a mule isn't supposed to have opinions. Its simply supposed to serve it's masters as required.

      fireson23 There's a difference between being exposed to an STD and having an STD permanently. Not all STD's are permanent, so there very well could have been high numbers of people contracting STD's, but a portion of them will be curable.
      " Just use your brain to think. Who are these women of all ethnic groups having sex with? Just black men? Wouldnt these women from all ethnic groups be having sex with men from all ethnic groups, including the one predominant demographic group in America the article did not even mention "white men"."
      The fact is, these women are having sex with multiple black men, and generally not white men. And most white men wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole after they know they've been with black men. See, the "once you go black you can't go back" term, actually means that you literally can't go back because no one will have you.
      So white men aren't getting it as much as a result, and since most white women pretty much don't go outside of their race (even though female of other races are actually less likely to go outside of their race) they are essentially not 'tracking' those STD's back toward white men.
      Fact is, yes, white women who sleep with black men, are typically only sleeping with black men, especially single white mothers with black kids. Pretty much only black men will have them.
      Black women are the least likely to get with white men, which means they are also having sex with other black men, both passing around herpes in their small closed off pool of population.
      Fact is, at the end of the day, white men have more sexual responsibility, and thus a cleaner pool of sex partners to choose from. The epidemic of black fatherless children just speaks even more to the lack of sexual responsibility in black men.

      That's a very broad statement. First of all, concept of "family" keeps changing, the current idea of "family" came from around 50's - a dad, mum and kids. Through most of humanity we lived more communal, kids were being taken care by entire community etc. Secondly, why would making a family and supporting it for a life time should be something everyone has to do in the first place? Having kids should not be taken for granted, nor marriage. It's easy to make babies, it's not easy to grow them into decent human beings. It's easy to run to the church and get married, it's hard to actually get to know person, and even admit that sometimes you don't fit together, or outgrow each other.

      Get mad. Shrug?
      I've spent 20 years of my life being called a gold digger because of the man I am married to (behind my back. Never to my face).
      I've had gossiping white people throw every Asian stereotype and every gold digger stereotype at me behind my back over the decadrs. But, I ignored it. Words are just words. That is, until somebody's son says to my son, "my mom said your mom is just waiting for your dad to die". That's the final STRAW (that woman was a "friend" of mine). That's when I created stereotypes of my own.
      Stainless steel diggers and dung diggers. It's never wrong to fling labels and stereotypes at people who fling labels and stereotypes.
      Dishing and taking.
      I didn't come to America with money. I was poor like every teenager just starting out in life. A new immigrant teenage adult living in Baltimore. The ghetto.
      All I saw there was violence all day every day. I've seen shot people with homicide detectives looking down at them sifting for clues.
      I've stood by the yellow tape wondering "who is it this week?". Multiple times.

I have never had the opportunity to formally meet or date an Asian women though. I understand being selective about who you get involved with. But to do it based on monetary status is so wrong. You don't think men don't get oppressed? Think again. Men are very cut throat against each other especially when it comes to money and women. Women on the other hand are very supportive with each other. So you see. Men get it from both directions. I just dumped a male friend and quit a job because our boss was a women and my so called friend developed a crush on her and became very aggressive towards me. Funny thing is he is married and so is she. I have a great girlfriend and didn't need that job or the bullshit. So I said bye to both. Well, anyway good luck to you. I have met so many left-over women, it is really sad. There is suicidal girl, who keeps talking about suicide because her family has put so much pressure on her and tries to forces her into marrying against her will (somebody she doesn't know), then there's tons of girls who ask me to marry her and take her abroad (even though they don't speak english and never been abroad) - now that is really dangerous. I don't know how many creepy guys out there would exploit this kind of situation. Either to play those girls in China, or to really take them home. There are many girls who asked for my advice because they met someone online (usually an old ugly guy) who wants to marry them. They are always like: "oh but he seems like a good man, even though he is a foreigner and much older than me". And then there are the women who are actually married, have children, but the marriage was set up by their parents for whatever reasons (in one case to uphold the families ties with another family, in other cases for economical reasons and so on) but they really despise their husbands. Most of them never met them before marriage. Now they are seeking out foreigners for secret dating. And of course we have single mother's.
    It is really a sad situation and I don't even want to know how many creeps take advantage of that.

    Hypergamy is not a cultural phenomenon, it's biological. Women seek the best partner, and they tend to leave the current relationship if they think they've found a better catch (but only if the new one is for sure, see the phrase monkeybranching).
    Some cultures can push this instinct back to some extent (like traditional Chistianity and some really small communities), but it doesn't mean it's a cultural thing, quite the contrary.
    Oh, and don't marry, especially not with mothers of small children! It's a very bad advice!
    And one more search term: "hitting the wall". It means when a woman reaches the age when her chances to have a long term relationship / marriage with someone she wants reaches 0. It's also a biology based thing (both on the male and female side).

      If you are an older man and have no children and want want children you are better of marrying a woman with at least one child. You then have an idea what type of mother she is. If her Child is a monster you know to run. If Her child is respectful and kind you know you have the making of a good mother. Also if you want to marry a woman between 30 and 40 if she has no kids, she may not be able to have kids. But if you are under age 35 you are often better off starting life with just the two of you. Hold off for a few years before you have Children.

    One side of the story, that hasn't been discussed much: From the parents, family pushing the young women to get marry. The husband is expected to provide financial stability (house, car, etc). The women provides youth, beauty, etc. While it is a big financial burden to many family to marry out a men, it can be the same on the receiving side for the women's family. They can "sell out" the women, who gets to live in a house, etc. So there is no need for her family to support her. If she stays alone, she will need a place to live, etc. So the families push to women to marry out not only from social pressure and desire to have grandkids but for financial gains too. Do you guys agree or I'm overthinking?

      "Sell" their daughter? That just sounds ignorant.
      A more normal scenario: From her mom & dad's point of view, their daughter needs to get married at a certain age so she can have her own family. - Isn't that how it is in traditional societies? The daughter marries into a family with a similar background. She can now be a mom and manage the household. What's the alternative, she never leaves the nest & just spends her years caring for her aging parents. BTW: her parents expect to live with their son, not their daughter.

    The so-called "left-over woman problem" is really not about sexism. The word "left-over" in Chinese is not as strong and negative as you think it is. It dosen't mean useless, really. It means "not successfully matched", OK? Why aren't these women successfully matched? Because in the Chinese man-women matching game, some women tend to looking for men who is either richer or higher in education etc., than themselves. In their own mind, men should be stronger, richer than women. They won't accept men as their boyfriend or husband who make as much money, or even less than they do. And because they are highly educated or well-paid, it makes a lot harder for them in this matching game.

    • @HaoweiYao
      @HaoweiYao 7 років тому +8

      And plus "left-over men" is a more serious problem. Because unlike "left-over" women, they literally can't find a wife. Typically they are in poor rural remote areas. They will marry any women they can find.

      The west today increasingly has a lot of unhappy women who can not find men who earn as much or more than themselves and also unhappy men who can not find women who earn as much or less than themselves. Today universities are majority female students and there is no way a female doctor is going to marry a male nurse, let alone a truck driver or courier driver. There is no changing that because hypergamy is a biological instinct. The dimorphism of human genders is a result of it.

He offered to help pay them because he knew i was unemployed at the time because of him and i told him no. you know what i ended up doing. ALL BECAUSE MY MAN ASKED ME TO CHANGE CAREERS AND YEAH NOT ONCE DID I EVER ASK HIM TO HELP FINANCIALLY! again thanks alot for jumping into conclusions.I will do anything for my man. i will treat him like a king and do whatever he wants. all i ask in return is him to treat me seriously and with love.

    I get the impression that you are blaming the men for not wanting these older women, but you clearly state that the women have themselves rejected the men earlier in life, only to find later on that they are now the ones that are not wanted. It seems to me the solution is quite easy. The women need to be a little less demanding and picky when they are younger, and perhaps they won't find themselves alone later in life. The problem is of their own making if what you describe is factual.

    You guys neglected to mention the one child policy that was instituted in 1979 and only relaxed in 2013. it is my understanding that approximately 8 million babies were aborted per year during that time. If urban women were having these to ensure that they didn't have a girl in favor of a male child , that would certainly account for a serious reduction in the female population. Just a thought though. I could be wrong.

      The Chinese, like many Asian societies, value boys over girls because boys will carry their family's name and girls are seen as possessions to be married off to another family.

    • @GrizrazRex
      @GrizrazRex 6 років тому +6

      This same 1-child policy is also most of what fuels China's nascent expansionism. In other words, because of the policy, and the cultural preference for male children, China has the cannon-fodder to spare, and chooses to channel all of that extra testosterone into expanding its' territory.
      I have also been predicting that it will be China that solves the North Korea issue. With all of the manpower to spare, and 70% of the DPRK military focused southward, it would just take a well-coordinated swarm over the Yalu River to seize most of the DPRK, including the nuclear test facility. Remember also that, if there is any government likely to have moles within the DPRK government, it would be the PRC. China likely has a very good grasp on the exact nature of the DPRK nuclear program. If Beijing perceives that it is under threat by the Nork's nukes, then it will act decisively, and seize control of the nukes, and install a new Sinocentric puppet government. The last thing that the PRC wants is a reunified Korea that is pro-American.
      To borrow from the Bard, I see it thusly: "A soothsayer bids you beware the Ides of March." I see the Chinese attack on the DPRK coming with the spring.

      It's the nature of the sexual marktplace. There's a great expression used by Milo Yiannopoulos when he was talking about the way obese, arrogant, feminist, Western women think men do not have the right to judge their appearance, etc. He said, "You don't get to decide what makes my dick hard."
      Stefan Molyneux did an interesting interview with a woman who was unhappy that, now in her mid 40s IIRC, she was finding it difficult to obtain a suitable man. He asked her about her behaviour when she was younger (late teens to early 20s), as expected she used to visit bars & suchlike, flirt with guys, have one-night-stands, short term relationships ("flings"), all that sort of thing. He established that she remembered older women being in the same bars, but being in her youth she always had a better chance of getting the guy she wanted because she was better looking, younger, fitter, etc.
      He thus pointed out that *she* was now in the same position as those other older women had been back when she was young, she was now competing with the young women of today, hence by delaying seeking any long term relationship and a family, she had pushed herself out of the optimal range for attracting a mate, she was now competing with women with "higher" sexual market value. The realisation of this completely blew her mind. It's a bell curve of course, plenty of exceptions, but in general this is what happens. Alas I could not find the exact video (too many hits when I search), but this one is probably a good overview of the main concepts which Stefan covered in the interview:
      ua-cam.com/video/nN0HhyOUDtw/v-deo.html
      In the west, leftist & progressive/SJW political forces are not only pushing the idea that women should have the *right* to delay when they start a family or settle down (as if the sexual marketplace doesn't exist, ie. natural selection), but that girls can do whatever they like to their bodies in the meantime, it doesn't matter if they get fat, dye their hair blue, have body piercings and tatoos, become rude and arrogant, etc., they will still be able to be happy later in life. It is a complete lie of course, and a horrible one at that; such behaviour and appearance changes are massive turn-offs for any normal man.
      Perhaps then it is no wonder that the same leftist pressures in the West also encourage same-sex relationships and other anti-gender attitudes (to the point where insisting there is just male and female can result in prison time, eg. the madness in Canada and other places, where students can define their own pronouns, and not using that pronoun can result in legal action); so, just be with a woman instead, because "men are scum", especially white men. This attitude is strong in a lot of Western culture and mainstream media atm, especially cinema; it's why The Last Jedi was such rubbish, and why thankfully it bombed so badly in China since PC culture is not accepted there (hooray for that). In reality of course girls who choose this path will not be happy, and ironically rates of violence in lesbian relationships are actually higher (at least on college campuses, according to US crime data). And by definition, same-sex relationships cannot naturally result in children, they are demographic dead-ends.
      From basic biology, the social pressure to find a partner early makes sense, as fertility rates drop off sharply after the age of 30 or so. But in the context of a wider culture with its complex layers of social norms, traditions, economics, politics, etc., how this all plays out can be very messy. Pardon me if this is a naive assessment, but it looks like a legacy of atitudes related to an agricultural tradition of raising families has not yet had time to adapt to the much changed nature of younger Chinese people, their better standard of living, spending power, etc., ie. how the country has changed in the last 10 to 20 years.
      I wonder though, for those women who have focused on their careers when younger, and are now looking for a man when they're in their 40s, it would be very interesting to know what they did with the resources they acquired during those years. DId they spend it all? Or did they save it? Does anyone know if there's a general trend in this regard for those referred to as, "leftover women"? Because in a way what they've done is turn themselves into a version of what would normally be the male position in the sexual marketplace, ie. they are older and thus less physically appealing, but if they have financial resources then that might be a positive that counters their being older. Up to the man if the compromise is acceptable.
      There's a limit though. I think women who delay starting a family for a very long time (ie. beyond age 45 or 50) are absolutely crazy, as it means there is a significant chance that, before even their first child becomes an adult, the mother may go through serious illness or even die. If this is a life choice, then choosing to become a mother very late in life (making birth abnormalities more likely) is being very selfish, it's certainly not an optimal choice for the child.
      Really though, in a way, this entire problem is a form of natural selection doing what it's supposed to do. If starting a family later in life is a bad thing (and biologically it is), then it makes sense that there can arise social pressures which push back against the idea being regarded as normal or sensible. In the West, leftist/feminist political forces have been trying to normalise the notion that the problems women inevitably encounter when they choose career over family must be the fault of men, of male-run "systems"; they scream about patriarchy, they complain about glass ceilings and all sorts of other nonsense, they talk about the entire equality issue in a manner that could only ever make the slightest sense if children literally didn't exist. And they try to use the power of the state to correct the inbalance they themselves have created as a result of the choices they've made in life. In China though, at least at the moment, there is no equivalent political movement to force men into behaviour that doesn't come naturally, presumably because PC culture is currently not tolerated (long may that continue).
      This is likely why many Western men find young South East Asian women so appealing, because they seem more traditionally feminine, in a manner that in many parts of Western countries has virtually disappeared. It's a problem that knows no racial or ethnic divide either, as it's certainly an issue among young black men in parts of the US who want to find a partner who isn't, in their words, crazy (plenty of vids by guys on YT talking about it). Here's a famous clip by Tupac on the subject:
      ua-cam.com/video/HA_8-8wGMjo/v-deo.html
      It's as if China has the foundational elements of what in Western countries has morphed into a broader problem of a sharp divide between men and women, made so bad by leftist political forces, feminists, SJWs, the media, etc. Though such forces often do not represent majority opinion (less than 7% of women in the UK regard themselves as being feminists), they do by fervent & vocal action frequently have the ability to determine government policy, what laws get passed, etc. In China this hasn't happened yet, and I hope it never does.
      One thing is clear: China has "traditional" elements to its culture which, to the eyes of a Western male, are greatly appealing, but it certainly has other aspects which are not good at all from such a perspective, such as the scam culture described in the other video. Can China fix the latter while retaining the former? Who knows. What is known though is that, in general, the greater the freedom women have in a culture, the less they tend to know about politics and the more likely they are to vote in ways which result in destabilising consequences for the nation, such as allowing damaging immigration. This effect is very severe in many Western countries, eg. Sweden, Germany and the UK. Men can be stupid voters aswell of course, but are naturally more likely to push back against problems affecting national security, cultural stability, etc. Perhaps China not having the same kind of electoral system means the way the West has degraded can't happen in China, and why the govt. is so keen to strongly control how social discourse is allowed to occur. In a nation with so many people, sudden changes could be greatly amplified. The following is an older article which talks about potential changes in how lower-level elections occur:
      www.economist.com/asia/2011/06/16/vote-as-i-say
      but what it's like today I don't know. The video author has referred before to modern China as being more prosperous and civilised, but less free. Thus, perhaps there's an argument for saying that prosperity and freedom, baring in mind how the West allowed such things to evolve, are not fully compatible in a nation like China, as left uncontrolled in the age of the internet, such forces can be downright dangerous (people seem to forget that just because a large number of people on the net all happen to agree on something or believe a certain thing, that doesn't mean they're actually right, ie. evidence and reasoned argument are often absent). In China, perhaps the nature of the Internet is such that it is capable of unleashing a form of mob mentality which could be far more damaging than the way such effects (bad though they've been) have played out in the West. Whatever the politics, the Chinese govt may quite rationally perceive this as a threat to stability.
      Anyway, just my thoughts and observations. I hope I've not been boring. :D Kudos if you've read this far. I type fast and often go on longer than most YT commenters do.
      Lastly, if I may cite some relevant references, I would recommend:
      "Civilization", by Niall Ferguson.
      "The War Against Boys", by Christina Hoff Summers.
      "SJWs Always Lie", by Vox Day.
      All well worth reading.

    I liked the video because I think your point of view is interesting. You two seem to be genuinely interested in the place while you and your family are also genuinely taking advantage of your class differences. It is what it is.
    I did want to comment on your use of the word "silly". Your inability to step out of your wealthy mindset enough to see that it's actually not silly for them at all. It's a natural reaction to the circumstance, just like it was in America and Europe before they became less agrarian societies. To refer to these people as being "silly" seems rather ignorant to me. I could be wrong.
    All in all, well done. You've definitely inspired me to travel in cycle more. 👍🏽

    So here's a weird story. I was engaged to a Chinese woman who was 28, two years older than I was. She was from Beijing and here on a student visa. I was the first guy she ever dated because, like you said she was one of those girls who was focused on her career. It even took a few months for the relationship to get serious after we started dating and she was very serious about not having sex until we were married. So about 3 months before we were planning on having the wedding I had lost my job and even then she stayed with me and was determined to help me find another one. Then I told her that I was was considering taking medication again for my ADD and she texted me the next day saying that she needed to take some time to think about things and she broke up with at the end of that week. She's never spoken to me since.
    I'm happily married now to a Vietnamese woman but that still kind of blew my mind that she had done that. She also was very different from the women that you had been describing but I don't know if that's because of growing up in Beijing or it was just family values. She had also recently become a Christian so that might have had something to do with it but realistically speaking that seems unlikely.
    Would be great to hear your all's thoughts.

      East asians are indeed very cold people generally speaking. And yes, marriage for them is just a bussiness. It looks like their entire culture is focused in earning as much money as possible and raising their status. I had a very bad experience with a shanghainese recently, so I know about that. South eastern asians are much more open minded people. Now i am meeting a filipina and she is totally the opposite from that materialistic concept.

      In the Bible it specifically says NOT to break a marriage just because one's spouse is an unbeliever, so I don't think that has much to do with it.
      It probably has something to do with the fact that much of the Oriental (and especially the Chinese) culture focuses on status, wherein an individual's sole aim in life is to raise their and their family's status.

    men and women are different and desire different attributes in partners. men value youth and looks. women value status and security. These 'leftover women' sacrifice their youth for a career and when it comes to a point in time that they want to settle down they don't posses youth anymore and their looks are also on the way out. The men that they desire (those that have gained status and financial security) are just not attracted to them any more they are only attracted to much younger women.

      In the West, the horrible lie of the feminists is their telling girls that they can have it all, spend their youth being independent, do what they like, behave how they like, flirt, focus on career, etc., and still be happy later in life. It's such a cruel thing to do, to brainwash girls in this way, because in reality they just end up in a house full of cats. What they've done is convince girls that somehow they're "entitled" to the resources that a man may have when they're older, entitled to get with whatever man they desire. As if the man has no choice, no agency. The truth is that the West has become a strongy matriarchal system, women completely dominate education, and they've never had it so good in terms of access to free resources, in a manner men cannot remotely dream of. Men pay more into the system but get less out. There's a great video by Lauren Rose where she exposes the hypocrasy of such feminist thinking by referencing the huge disparity in accident and death rates in the workplace, though alas I can't find it atm.

    Yeah, it's not wrong not to want get married to a woman who cannot bare children. One could argue that the whole point of marriage is for raising a family. It's not surprising that a woman in her early 30's wanting to get married is going to be far less desirable than a woman in her early 20's wanting to get married.

    The thing is, men in most cultures don't like marrying women older than 35 or so. Young men aren't going to be looking for older women, and older men aren't going to be looking for women their age because they know that they can find a partner 7-15 years younger than them. This is because of fertility, and probably because most young men won't try to look for older women because the woman will most likely have some kind of higher status than the man, and in most relationships the male has a higher status than the female, so most will avoid these situations--it's just what tends to happen for whatever reason. Younger women are more likely to marry older men because older men have higher social status than younger men, and also women usually don't mind having lower social status than their partner. Older men probably want a woman who can have children too. It just all fits into some obnoxious puzzle where men are devalued for being too young and women devalued for being too old. Since people have so much freedom now, they will usually seek someone that is "best" for them, with situations like these making actual relationships between people of the same age group progressively more difficult to come by.

      Then I traveled to Africa to work. And what the hell. My own father would piss out behind the chicken house in Ohio when I was a kid. He did not grow up with indoor plumbing so why the hell would he go back into the house to pee into a bucket. And so he did not go back into the house to pee into our flush toilette.
      As an adult I am a hell of a lot less embarrassed about that now then I was at the time.

      I am no expert in these things. However, privacy is a very mutable commodity. For instance, while serving in Vietnam we had a multi-hole out house and you simply got used to taking a dump next to another person. In addition, I am skeptical that actual pedophile type behavior would be so public.
      Sexual behavior is Darwinian selected for surreptitiousness since it (like defecation) places the individual in a vulnerable condition. Further, I have been amused that not one of the nature shows I have ever seen commented on copulation in one room cabins!
      My own speculation? I speculate copulation between husbands and wives was no great secret! In fact, we have court testimony from the Plymouth Colony [I believe] where a wife brings public action against her husband for not satisfying her!

Society doesn't benefit from your happiness; it benefits from your labour and from the offspring you produce who can then go on to work.

      From a pragmatic point of view, I do not care whether or not you are happy. I care about my happiness, and the happiness of those close to me. I will not go out of my way to cause harm to others and thereby reduce their happiness, nor am I the person to go out of my way to increase someone's happiness - if something were to occur that allows me to do a 'good deed' I will gladly do so, however.

      It's certainly a bizarre contradiction that, in the West, at the same time as encouraging or allowing women to be more career minded, independent, etc., we have such a vast welfare state, a system that has basically replaced men as the optimal means of reaources for many women. Across the West, the state has replaced the father in family life. In education, boys are regarded as broken girls. In the media, men are villified, especially white men. And then women have the gall to complain that after allowing such a culture to evolve, men don't want to be with them? :D It's extraordinary. That's why so many have just given up, why MGTOW has become a thing (cultural suicide of course, but I can understand the reasoning behind such a choice).

      Um, that's not the conceit of this channel. They all have their own individual channels that aren't like this. C-Milk, South African guy, Vivi -- C-Milk's wife, and some other dude I can't remember his name because he's a sellout, inside joke. Anyway, they all have their individual channels which are great. This particular channel is about 2 dudes on motorcycles shootin the shit about various topics.

  • @michasosnowski5918

    There is nothing shovinistic about it. Women make choices and this choices lead to consequences. The same thing happen in the West. Women pursuing education and career above relationships and family end up being miserable later in life, becouse they cant have children or family, or even good relationships. They valued succes over private life, so they have it.
    Its like wage gap. Nothing sexist about it, just different choices and consequences.

      Often true. Once they get to be 40ish, and say "Hmmmm, okay, I'm a success in a career, time for me to get married and have a kid". Some do. However, most of them FIND that the kind of man THEY want (one who has as much or more "stuff" than they do), usually don't want a 40ish year old "independent minded" woman with thunder thighs, cottage-cheese butt, and a domineering attitude. Most males who are 40 to 60 who are rich will marry a much younger woman, with a nicer body, fresher face, and who is more submissive than a successful career woman who is 40 plus.

    • @bmarti7998
      @bmarti7998 8 років тому

      Maybe they are just being pressured into acting desperate and crazy because society tells them they have no value past the age of 30. It's quite sad really. I honestly don't understand why guys in China are so picky. There are over 40 million fewer women than men. They should be rushing to take them off the market as fast as they can lest they end up single forever.

    • @websuspect
      @websuspect 8 років тому +2

      Lots of comments I think they feel pressured but most of us have societal issues like depression or anxiety based on what we been through. I think the leftover women some of them Just have mentle problems like Bi POlar or Borderline personality or schizophrenia and this probably scares most of theri potential victoms away. Where as some girls are hiding it and you find out later in life.

    • @humbughumbughumbug
      @humbughumbughumbug 8 років тому +1

      Agreed!! Older women that aren't widows are usually a big ball of issues and baggage.
      As for that guy's "potato" comment, I dated a woman that was a lot older, and she was hot. And I wasn't really that attractive. But she had massive issues and baggage, and I learned very quickly about women and BPD. Women with cluster-b issues (which websuspect named two) know how to choose guys that they can control (victimize) and a guy that is insecure about his looks is perfect for that position. If he is codependent (aka 'nice guy') he's doomed from the start.

    My grandparents old house (where I spent all my summers as a youth) in south-central rural Kentucky was well over a hundred years old (actually no one seemed to know exactly how old it was, they thought it was built sometime in the late 1880's) and was still a very much desirable home when they finally sold it in the late 90's, it had a modern roof and modern siding but the rest of the home was the same as when it was built (maintained of course), looked very good and was quite livable.

    Winston, ironically I watched this just after I watched your video about the things Chinese people hate about foreigners, and the first thing you talked there was the superiority complex that foreigners were perceived to have, in that they bring their morality and values over and push it on China (I'm paraphrasing so forgive me if I didn't get that entirely right).
    But not long into this video, you and C-Milk were using strong words to describe your disdain for this Chinese cultural attitude, thereby actually showing us how true your previous video was.
    Maybe in the future you could keep your attitude more neutral when you discuss things, and refrain from using words like disgusting or stupid when you talk about China's way of life. Other than that, your videos are very informative. Thanks!

    It is somewhat reasonable to not want to date a female that is post 30. There is a drastic decrease in fertility if you want children.
    Imagine meeting a woman a 30, if you wait 2 years for marriage then another two for a child, you're going to have a rough time.

    When a man is required by law to support his wife's parents as well as his own, and on top of that a woman is too old to have kids so there's no chance that he will get supported by any kids from her, then marrying an old woman is pointless. It's a much more intelligent thing to do if you refuse to marry, let the "left over woman" and her parents take care of themselves, and just save whatever money and wealth you can and to live on when you're old. Why support 3 extra people for no reason?

      it's actually pretty simple - it basically boils down to treat others the way you wish to be treated. I think the problem is some (older generation) are just too prideful and oversensitive to what they perceive to be disrespectful.
      Now mix in the fact that a majority of the people you meet in China are actually poor and uneducated. What did communism do when it took over? It burned a lot of it's own history and books. All those that were educated and successful at the time were labeled as traitors. To punish them all their belongings are taken by the state and they were forced into reeducation camps. Who were the ones running the show? The poor and uneducated youths! Basically the country was overtaken by thugs in the name of communism.
      The China you see now is several generations down the road of all this. The thugs are now rich and if you're friends with them you're pretty set. The problem is they're still thugs. Basically rich people with no class. Everyone else are just poor pawns to serve the ones in power.
