Binary System: Computers operate on binary, a base-2 system. This makes powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc.) naturally aligned with how data is processed and stored in computers .Efficiency: Using powers of 2 can lead to more efficient use of computer resources, such as memory allocation. It's easier for a computer to manage memory in chunks that are powers of 2
