I'm a Yoruba man from Ekiti State. I'm getting married to my sweetheart from Umuahia, Abia State in a couple weeks. Your video got me smiling from ear to ear. God bless your home with beautiful kids and may your love never fade.

That your cousin really turned up for you mehn, she really danced. This is the first yoruba/igbo inter tribal wedding I'd see the igbo people genuinely happy. They must really be educated and enlightened. Congratulations.

Hello sis , congratulations. Please could you share how the order of events went to combine both cultures because I am Igbo and my husband to be is yoruba and we are trying to find how best to combine our trad. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey! I felt the same way. I used an alaga and an MC to combine both cultures. The Alaga (@ile_oko_ya on Instagram) really helped spice things up.
This was roughly the program of the event:
      1. Arrival of Guests
      2. Welcome by MC
      3. Groom’s Family Entrance by Alaga
      4. Bride’s mother entrance
      5. Groom’s Entrance by Alaga
      6. Opening prayer
      7. Presentation of Kolanut
      8. Introduction of Families
      9. Letter
      10. Bride’s First Entrance
      11. Bride’s Second Entrance to look for her Groom
      12. Bride’s and groom’s parents to Bless the couple
      13. Cutting of the Cake
      14. Couple’s dance
      15. Games
      16. More dancing
      17. Closing Prayer
      18. After Party!! DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!!! Thank

I guess it depends on your family. Almost all my important family members are based in Lagos and we are not very keen on traveling all the way for a traditional wedding since we were born and brought up here.

    • @nonyeuhegwu
      @nonyeuhegwu  Рік тому

There’s no need to apologize, I understand. First you have to speak to your parents before he comes. Let them know that he is the one you want. They might refuse initially but you need to be patient with them as well to come around because it might not be what they were expecting. Listen to them but stand your ground if you are sure of your decision.
