  • This video is for a group project in MCHE1920 at UGA, Spring 2014. For this project we are working on the product archaeology of a food processor. This video shows our group taking apart the food processor and looking at the individual pieces that make it run.

    I'm curious as to how they run a small motor like that off AC. maybe a bridge rectifier on the motor b/c I've seen that on a hair dryer. Was hoping these would have a small 12 volt power supply that I can use.

    Do you know how to take off the other spindle? Seems like the outer metal casing wasn't meant to be removed. I'd like to separate the chassis from the spindles & motor.

      Hold the gear, and turn the metal pin clockwise, it's a left-hand thread screw.
