    As a military service member, I eat MRE's all the time and I can 100% attest that the hardest part is opening the damn packaging.

      NYXBAR I'm in JROTC and we bought a bunch of MREs because we thought it would be fun for all of us to eat them on our trip to port aransas. Some of them were freaking amazing but others tasted like bad baby food. 😂 They are a pain to open.

    • @aglove275
      @aglove275 7 років тому +5

      TheAlphaLupus you can get them on base the same way you can get a burger on base. Civilians can even buy them at a normal grocery store here in Texas. We aren't at war, we don't have so many people in the feild that MREs are reserved.

  • @bookcrazy001
    @bookcrazy001 8 років тому +208

    Whenever there is a hurricane, they have red cross shelters that will hand out boxes of MRES to eat. I remember how i usually had a shit ton left over after so I would eat them for lunch. They are actually pretty good.

  • @alexroth882
    @alexroth882 8 років тому +329

    Wow everyone super salty in the comments. They aren't in the armed forces of course they don't know what MREs are, I didn't until I dated someone in the army. And now everyone's upset because they're saying it's gross when they are meant to be for nourishment during active duty. Fun fact: they aren't on active duty, they're trying it to see what they taste like.

    I had my husband watch this and he kept laughing and correcting how it should be done. He is thankful that the two of you didn't have the omelet MRE or the milkshake drink mix (those were the most hated in his last unit.) He is currently a contractor working out of an Air Force base and the two of you did just as well with the MRE as some Airmen!

    My girlfriend is a Marine and she said you are to get water from a stream and use the chlorine tablet to purify it. Not from the toilet bowl. The toilet bowl water already has chlorine in it. lol.
    Also. Each MRE has about 2,000 calories.
    Good thing you guys didn't eat the whole thing.

    MRE 's are definitely fun to play around with even when they aren't being used for troop sustainment. They are supposed to be high in protein and there are nutritional requirements for them in order to give troops (US Military wide) the basic nutrient value necessary to perform real world duties in the field. I'm in the Air Force and can say that although we don't highly rely on MRE's anymore, they are still used as last resort manpower sustainment. Plus there is so much history when it comes to those little things that its cool to see civilians taking interest.

That's the point of clevver. They showcase things they have absolutely no idea about. So, stop being so butthurt. This wasn't meant to be offensive, obviously. Applies to all branches.
    Not the gum you think it is, that gum contains Nicotine, Caffeine, & Xanax. XD

    just one question, why there is so much water on american toilet?

    • @TheChaoticLoser
      @TheChaoticLoser 8 років тому +3

      Because USA is a huge country, with tons of people. Its not as easy to enforce low-flow toilets, or even pass any sort of legislation on that. Basically, everyone has to take their own initiative to change their own toilets, and most people simply don't care that much.

    • @89nekkoinu
      @89nekkoinu 8 років тому +3

      TheChaoticLoser is that so? but if you think about it the thing that you call by low flow toilet should be more sensible. i mean if you look at the water bill alone it can save you a lot of money in the long run. especially on public and office toilet

    I used to eat these when my dad came home from being deployed every so often because he brought home a couple of boxes with him. My brother and I recently went though the box (twelve meals) that haven't been opened yet. We tossed the meals and kept the rest because the meat in the meals can go bad after a certain point. The ones we had were from 2008 and tasted just fine when I brought it to school one day, though my friends weren't too happy about it.
