Brother I originally came for the gun gear reviews, stayed for the quality and Tacoma. But this #Weekenderlander series is becoming amazing, and this particular episode is just a new level. Keep rockin the Tubes bro, you’ve become one of the best creators!
Major respects to your woman! She has a great heart picking up that glass
Took Atreyu to the vet and his CCL has a complete tear and definitely needs surgery. I'll be getting that done asap, and will keep you guys updated. It'll sure put a damper on the next couple months of camping plans though.. :(
Hey our dog had it done and it was well worth it! back to running around in a few months!
I used to be a veterinary technician. When we did CCL surgeries, the dogs recovered quickly, much more quickly than a person recovers from ACL surgery (it's called "Cranial Cruciate" rather than "Anterior Cruciate" because in canine anatomy "cranial" means toward the head since a dog stands on all fours, whereas Anterior in humans means something like "toward the front" - I didn't take human anatomy though lol). So Atreyu should make a quick recovery :) Wish him the best!
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. My dog also tore her ACL 2 years ago(she was 4 at the time). After talking to a number of Vets we got a TPLO surgery for her. My wife and I worked really hard rehabbing the leg(I can't take to much credit, my wife is an athletic therapist and did a lot of the work lol) and it took about 6 months to get her to 100%. She is a 60 lbs husky, golden retriever mix, and she hasn't had any issues since the surgery. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope Atreyu has a quick recovery!
Crocs n Glocks a winning combo, love it ! Very cool gear...Excellent vid
Thanks Ashley for being such a good steward of the outdoors. I have instilled this trait in my kids as well. Good for you guys by making a point to remind us all to leave it better than we found it.
Awesome video man! I think it’s great you mentioned the 2002 fire and about leaving the land better than you found it. I’m sure someone can come across your channel and not know about these things, so awareness is always a good thing for new to the outdoor scene. Keep up the great content man!
👍🏻👍🏻
Love how you live by "Leave no Trace" philosophy. As an Eagle Scout, I teach this to my scouts all the time. Always leave the place better than what you started with.
I believe the onesie-sleeping-bag + crocs combo needs to make an appearance in the next weekenderlander!
Video looks great man! Keep up the good work! Thanks for taking us on your adventures!
Excellent video Mike. This is one of the best videos I have seen in a while. And the way you keep it real and genuine at the end tells a lot about you. That's why I follow and patreon you. Keep it bro! 🤙
I hit subscribe at the end of this video because of what you said about not "needing" all of this special gear. Wish it was at the beginning of your video. It is sooooo true, a tent, a blanket or cheap sleeping bag and a ride is all ya really need. The rest is comfort. Be safe!
Your message at the end was great man. I always tell people who want to get outside the only thing you need to have is a good attitude; I then throw them my walmart sleeping bag I bought 15 years ago and never use, and tell them to get their ass in the truck.
My dog (lab pit mix) had that surgery last year for a torn ACL. About a one month recovery and she was a brand new dog! If she has a big day of running she will limp slightly for a couple hours, but for the most part, I’d definitely recommend the surgery!!! Hope he gets better!!!
Great video an talking points on getting out an exploring! That was still such a beautiful area to camp in despite the devastation from the fire, thanks for sharing that with us!
Love the ending how u break things down for people and I can see it’s not necessarily the money that makes what u do possible it’s ur creativity and love for what u do ur dog and ur beautiful lady....cudos bro
Great video, really enjoy the series. Always like your filming Style and the fact that you mix it up. Looking forward to the next one, thanks
After a couple of weeks I can definitely say your holster has been the most comfortable I have ever used. Keep up the great work.
Whoa !!! Awesome video bro continue on the great job that you are doing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Love this weekenderlander series, it's a nice combo of gear and adventure. We love it
Awesome production on this vid Mike. So cool to see you evolve. I started out couple years ago with a stock wrangler, ground tent, cooler, and my bare hands to process fire wood. Incredible memories.
I love and share your attitude towards losers leaving trash behind.
"The worst thing at camp sites is when pieces of trash...leave pieces of trash" 😲😂👏👏 2:15
Love this video. One of my favorites of yours. Thanks for keeping it real at the end
Great video again. I think that picking up someone else's trash is always a good idea, someone needs to be responsible. Just like with the Hayman Fire, it's amazing how just one person can cause so much damage that will affect an area longer than will be alive. So everyone needs to do their part in protecting our wilderness areas.
I love watching your camping content and I appreciate the taking care of the environment element.
Cool to see more shots of your lady friend and your dog. Most of my camping trips are the same with my girlfriend and the dog and they're the best of times. All about having the right company around you.
Great ending points...people just need to get out there and enjoy whatever time they have!!! Another great vid!!! Excellent drone footage!!!
I know that spot all to well! Camped in that exact one and many of the others back in there many times. Love seeing all your videos and from someone that lives in the same area. Glad to hear you preaching about picking up trash, thanks and keep up all the awesomeness! Unfortunately missed the meet but hope to see ya on the trails one of these day.
Watching this series, and being from the East Coast, definitely makes me want to get out that way and take in the sites and the adventure! Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to all the new videos!
LLOD!!!! 👍👍👍 just ordered some swag for my roof!
As always awesome content thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
You're becoming my inspiration bro, keep it up!
Those little single burners are awesome! We use ours for hot pot in the winter! Might have to pick up a new patch.
Watched past vids and enjoyed the info. I'm fortunate enough to be able to have the funding and time to purchase and use a lot of nice gear, but I really enjoyed and appreciated your ending comments on being able to do the same on the cheap. Humbleness and humility go a long way in showing others goodness, etc. Keep em coming
Great message at the end about not needing lots of money, it's quite true you can do it on the cheap. Too much gear never gets used anyway. I have filled my Land Rover up for a camping trip and didn't use half the gear I took.
Mike the new video style is great. Especially the way you chopped up the early/intro footage. So cool man, great job!
A few months back some friends and I did a trail cleanup in our area and my buddies Pitsky stepped on a broken bottle and cut his paw. Thankfully we had first aid kits nearby to patch him up but the following visits to the vet every week wasn’t the most fun.
I had CCL surgery on my Great Dane a year ago. Pretty quick recovery (like 10x faster than my MCL recovery), and a bit of physical therapy work to get her leg/knee strengthened. Good luck Atreyu!
I hate it when people trash nature. Classless. Love that you went the extra mile to clean it up. I do the same thing, especially when shooting in the national forest. Keep it clean peeps!
I subscribed for the truck but now I’m in for the camping trips 😂 great content man, keep up the good work
Sweet rock crawling at 1:38!! :-P Love your videos man keep up the good work. Hope the pup recovers quickly.
Great video, hope your dog is ok. Our dog had 2 knee replacements, the vet sad after the first surgery it’s likely the other knee will need to be replaced in 12-24 months. It’s been 4 months after her 2nd now and she’s doing great with full mobility!
I've camped at the same spot...it sucks to see people leaving trash. Rampart Road is the same now I leave there with bags of trash, just picking up after everyone else. Its a shame.
Great content as always! keep up the good work bro👍👍
Great video Mike! I like the music change up as well.
I'm loving this series bro. I am really wanting to start getting out there and camping again since my girls are getting to the age where they will probably enjoy it. We don't have much and don't have a 4x4 truck yet but we are going to start small and go from there. Thanks for all you do with the gear reviews, its very helpful.
Always a thumbs up mike.
Wow! I’ve been subscribed for a while, but this seemed like a whole other side to your channel. Great video and thanks for sharing the experience with us. You seem like a pretty cool dude.
The charred wilderness is sad, but even with the damage, there is still a majestic beauty there. I’d love to get my wife and daughters out for a trip. Please keep sharing, and safe travels to you and your family brother!
my dog had something similar like that when he was running around, luckily it wasn't a torn ACL, the vet just stretched it out a bit and then gave some anti inflammatory meds for a few days and he was better! Hope your pup has a speedy recovery!!
Really enjoyed the video seeing places ive never been beautiful places .
Brother you Rock, love your content....Peace, stay safe !
Both of my old dogs tore their ACL’s in their later years. We weighed pros and cons of surgery at the time and ended up not going ahead with the surgery. I forget the exact explanation the vet gave but it was something like the injury forms callus’ around where it was torn. So although it won’t ever be fully healed, they get a lot of use back in the leg. They both “healed” up just fine. They were never 100% but could still run around, have fun and be a dog 👍🏼
Another awesome video! Like your attitude.
I can vouch for Olight, the brand is highly respected in the flashlight community. I personally have 6 of their products and use the H2R Nova every day for work. They are extremely tough and everything they make is water proof. Their user interface is my personal favorite and the fit/finish on them is perfect. I've often said, they make their stuff like they have something to prove. You honestly can't go wrong with an Olight.
I just subbed. I really enjoy your videos brother. Thank you for all this awesome content 👍🏽
People don't understand that you can have a good job that pays well and being smart with your money goes a long ways.
Tucker Ryan he’s stated in other of his videos that he’s a web developer, plus the money he makes from his holster business and UA-cam channel.
Great content as always.
Fun video. Should do these more often. Nothing in particular. Just the overall experience being out with your dogs and checking out cool gear.
Thanks man - yup, it's what most of this 'Weekenderlander' series will be!
Great video man. Love the new drone footage
Another awesome video! I think I'm opposite than most people bcuz I subbed for the off-roading/weekenderlander stuff but knowing you're a gun guy after the fact is a plus!
Subscriber and holster customer, you bomb b bro. Love all your vids, I have two of your holsters. Good job, keep it coming.
Awesome vlog Mike 🤙🏻
I noticed in the beginning of the video that your focus was much more accurate, and then you mentioned the Canon and it all made sense. Great little camera for the price. Also, I ordered the iKamper X-cover...cant wait for it to arrive after seeing you use it.
Awesome video!
had those jimmy dean breakfasts on our last camping trip... they were perfect!
Nicely done! The videos are getting better and better... CROCS!!!??? LOL... Ok, love the onesie. You reminded me of Eddie Murphy's "I'm Gumby, dammit!!!"
cool channel I agree make the most of your weekend
Love your videos!! Makes me motivated to get out!
Started watching for your gun videos, stayed for everything else!!!! Even your lack of left handed off brand holsters doesn’t drive me nuts anymore!!!! Lol!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Dude I just came across this vid and that onesie with crocs is bad ass lol
Thanks for cleanig upt the messes,
Just started following you mostly for the Tacoma but really love the reviews. Hope your pup has a quick recovery from surgery! CrCL (cranial cruciate ligament) tear is the equivalent of an achilles tendon tear in humans.
Loved it as always
Definitely don't need a super rig. I remember one trip I took up into the mountains. It was mostly trails with some rocky sections and steeps that you would think you needed a 4x4 to traverse. Here I am having a kick ass time in my jeep, come around the corner to see a Prius doing the same...
Great video man. Jealous of the scenery out west there.
Those Olights are great!
Good call on the Cucumber Crush!
Awesome video.
Geeeeaaarrr videoooo lets go
Man your videos have come so far, excellent work and awesome content!
Tplo surgery is the way to go for the dog. Our husky blew hers out 2 years ago and was pretty much done until we got I fixed. It was not an easy recovery but the dog is back to acting like a puppy again.
My dog tore his knee up and was doing the same thing yours is(can’t remember the exact injury it was years ago)and had to have surgery on it. Not the worst but not cheap and he will be miserable for a few days. Best of luck to your pupper.
Love your vids! Just ordered a patch from you :)
Nicely done
Mike, your videos redefine the word “aesthetic”. Even when trying on a full body Snuggie sleeping bag 😂
Great videos
Got hooked watching all of your videos Mike! On the weekender series videos, it would be awesome if you added the the camp ground and/or the trail you did.
Great video 👍🏻
Mike,my dog blew out his anterior cruciate ligament and we opted for the surgery and $2200 later he was good. The problem is that he blew the other one less than a year later-and the Vet said we didn’t have to do the surgery-that he would heal fine-which he did.Basically a really profitable deal for them-and Stormy is just fine a year later-and jumps just as well as he did before.I would say if you haven’t done it-don’t.Your dog knows something is wrong, and this is why he’s limping, but the pain subsides quickly and he’ll bounce back fine.
I've been reading similar stuff online. I'll see if he seems to recover on his own - it seems that once he starts getting better he doesn't something jumpy and then re-injures it.
Last Line Of Defense Your only worry is if he does re injure it.Then he would need the surgery.I would wait and see-give him glucosamine and an Advil a day for pain management and to facilitate quicker healing.Good luck with him.BTW,love your videos-great work..
Hey brother. I'm a veterinarian. We do lots of acl surgeries. The two procedures that I would recommend for him would be a TPLO or a TTA. These are both procedures that involve cutting the bone and putting either a Stainless plate (TPLO) or a titanium foam wedge (TTA) in the proximal tibia. Both these procedures change the slope of the knee creating an angle that no longer requires the acl. Both of these procedures if done by a skilled surgeon work well and typically create a very functional leg post healing. The TPLO is a little longer in the healing process and return to function for the dog. You are looking at roughly 8 weeks of restricted activity with both of the procedures. As with all orthopedic procedures there can be complications. However, if a skilled surgeon performs the surgery and you fulfill the after care they tend to do quite well.
Love your content! Originally came for the firearms related material but now I'm starting to get into weekenderlanding and hiking.
Super random question for you - when you're brushing your teeth is that one of those Burst Sonic brushes? If it is how do you like it?
Great video
You should come to Bend, hang out and get some Ten Barrel from the brewery!
I found this vide interesting and entertaining my friend.
I like what you said at the end about how it doesn’t require a ton of money or time to get out and adventure. Weekend trips are about all I can afford in regards to time and money
Joseph Holmberg you don’t have to get all the Gucci gear, and you can buy quality gear overtime.
Dude you cost me a lot of money! Unfortunately it was after a bad accident in which we got rear ended, but in the end our Colorado z71 was totaled and we lived through it! After saying all that we are the proud owners of a desert tan TRD4x4 Tacoma!! Love your videos, you are a smart little guy keep the videos coming!
Love the music
Heal up quick Atreyu! Nice vid Mike, keepem coming. I didn't see a link for that headrest gopro mount bar? If you can. Thanks!
I started following you for gun stuff but I think I enjoy these videos the most because it makes me want hot dogs for dinner.
Do it!
