I've done it many times.. feel bad afterward. Sometimes, you just want to rest without the damn mask. It's really not fair that we can't be like others drifting off to a peaceful sleep.

I have got a nasal mask and my CPAP has water in the tank. I am getting real problems when I wake up with a streaming nose, mostly from my right nostril, I am sneezing so much x and cannot use my mask for a couple of days. When I do go back to my mask, it is OK for a couple of nights and then I am on the same problems. Any suggestions please? Thanks

I wonder, for some with mild-to-moderate sleep apnea, how much of it is caused by a mild inflammation of the airways. Maybe some food intake, milk, even the type of tooth paste, excess mucus, etc. I noticed in myself that when mucus builds up, then I trend to snore.

When I do CPAP, I gain an average of 1% oxygen saturation (from 91% to 92%), but lose about 90 minutes of sleep. I’m not sure this is a net win, and I’m also not sure what to do with this information, other than see a sleep specialist. There doesn’t seem to be much change in my average heart rate or average HRV. All this data is according to my Ringconn. I certainly don’t feel better on CPAP.
Unfortunately, there is no sleep specialist in my city, and the closest one isn’t taking new appointments for 5 months! I’m just frustrated, looking for a place to vent 😂

How confusing is this? My mask and hose are so uncomfortable I'll take them off and go right to sleep. But I wake up with my heart pounding. So i don't do that anymore. From what I did understand in this video, it was very upsetting and scary. My sleep has been poor since I started cpap 2 years ago.

Hi there, I'm here to ask a few questions and to vent about sleep apnea doctors. 1st question can you put a luna 3g on the sleep hq site. I got this new machine in December and can no longer see my data. Also the O2 ring can I use that and get some data since my luna g3 machine can't go on the sleep HQ site? And would that data show my doctor anything? Now on to the doctors. I went to a Neurologist for my sleep apnea and my damn excessive daytime sleepiness back in October of last year. She wanted me to go for a sleep study and I did go the Monday after Thanksgiving. Ok got the new machine December 15th. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2019. Was on a resmed auto pap before my new machine. The doctor wanted to see if I have central sleep apnea. I do not have it according to them and my recent sleep study. So my new machine is cpap with its certain pressure settings. Well I am still having a lot of daytime sleepiness. From December 15th to February 27 I have had 33 days of sleepiness. 14 of them were days at work. Some so bad I almost fell down on the ground or could have fallen into a running machine. So I have my check up today about my new machine and I tell the doctor I'm still having sleepiness. Y'all know what she said you probably need to go back to your primary care physician and get your iron and thyroid checked. Like omg I have been doing that for 10 years now. Why do I still need to get that checked? 2 years ago my thyroid was a little underactive didn't really need the medicine yet but I chose to take it. So it's none of that. Then she says you need to cut down on your caffeine well excuse me I probably would never be awake without caffeine. Then she said I need to sleep more. I work 12 hours can't sleep alot on those nights I gotta get up and go to work. I'm going to try and sleep more here in the future. In case that's what it is. But I call bull shit on that! She said the cpap is working great you are only having 2 to 3 apneas a hour. It's not that. And as soon as she said you may need to see your pcp I just started crying. I cried the whole f**king visit!!! I just felt defeated, hopeless, sad, and very upset. I mean I'm not making up my daytime sleepiness. When I can I sleep 8 to 10 hours. I use my cpap every night. Honestly I can't go without my cpap machine. It has helped me a lot. But you know the doctors just want to make seem like it's you. You are doing something wrong. She said maybe I'm the type of person that needs 8 to 10 hours of sleep every night. But maybe I'm just someone that needs something else to go with my cpap. Maybe I need other tests done. Maybe I need a doctor to take the time and really try and figure out what the f is going on. Someone I work with said maybe my brain makes to much of that stuff that makes you sleepy. I didn't go to school for years to become a doctor. I don't know all the tests that could be done. And why even go to school to be a doctor when all you going to do is say to a patient That's all I can for you, I don't know anything else to do! Bull shit!!! So she also said it could be sleep work disorder. Ha ha I did work 12 hour night shifts but I have been on day shift for 7 months. Before I came to my newer job I work day shift for ever atleast 10 years before doing a year and half on night shift 12 hour night shift. And still had the daytime sleepiness those years. So after I got home and was ranting about this on Facebook she called and said she was going to give me some Modafinil to take on my work days. I guess because she thinks it is still sleep work disorder. And when I was seeing the heart doctor about my sleep apnea they were same way! I'm telling these f**king sleep doctors get on my nerves. I been keeping a journal of my daytime sleepiness since I got the new machine writing down every time I had daytime sleepiness and what time it was and what I was doing at that time. But I saw she didn't f**king care so I just threw that journal back in my pocket book and felt helpless and like nobody cares. All they seem to care about is giving you an expensive sleep study and an expensive cpap machine. Over here in America with my work insurance I had to pay $1100 for my sleep study. And I had to pay around $26 when I picked up my new machine. Got charged around $26 in January for a cpap lease on the machine. And now untill October I got to make payments of $126 or $129 a month for that new cpap machine. And my problem is still not fixed. It just sucks!!!! Thanks to everyone that reads this and can relate. Anyone have any advice?

So, I got hit with a branch from the nap time tree. Hasn’t happened for several years. I drifted off for 30-40 minutes and said, heck with this. Climbed on the bed, fitted up my ResMed and got a solid 2 hours.
