I thought you were gonna Talk about how if you come up on somebody... your cruise control starts going the same speed that they are going... until you go around them and then it picks up again.
compared to an escape 2019. Titanium, I was scared and hesitant to use. And my hands are still a bit sweaty. But I think I like it better than the escapes cruise control.
Man I just got my 2021 4Runner TRD ORP and I hate this! It’s dangerous! I’ve had it on and a car goes into a left turning lane and no longer in front of me and my truck brakes HARD as if the car is in front of me! If, when you turn on the cruise control, you press in and HOLD it’ll turn off the adaptive mode and just be regular cruise control without the radar.
@@SarasotaTim yeah that’s what I do now too. I live in a small town and we’ve got two lane roads each direction and when someone gets into a turn lane at a light it’s almost slammed on the brakes before I get up to the car now in the turning lane. Hopefully the brake lights come on because that could be dangerous so I turn off the adaptive in town and use it on the interstate where it’s not too bad when using it on the closest setting. Provided it’s not sprinkling outside and then all kinds of weird things happen lol. I traded my 2015 F250 in on this so I’m not used to the adaptive cruise control. It also seems to slow down when someone tailgates me. I’m not sure if that’s part of the system and maybe it’s just me.
No the person tailgating you should not affect it. I bet you missed that F250 that’s what I need to pull my camper as the 4Runner is a great off-road vehicle but not necessarily a great tow vehicle. I have a little 16 foot camper I live in and want to travel and make UA-cam videos. 😎
@@SarasotaTim yeah I miss her a little, but I didn’t tow anything but my fat a$$ around. Every now and then an open trailer, but really just a toy. Should get ya one then. The 6.7 is a beast! If you’re not aware of Aaron check out PTTWArod on here. Ford master tech up in Detroit and puts out a lot of content on all the repairs and info on all of them, even the gassers. Good dude too. He’ll help ya out if you have any issues with your truck.
The brake lights do come on, the car is using the brakes to slow down. One thing I hate about the adaptive cruise control in this car is if someone in front of you is turning left or right, even after they leave your lane, the car will slam the brakes sometimes thinking that they’re still in your lane and you’re about to hit them. If that happens just press the gas and it disables the system and lets you accelerate. Edit: Applying throttle does not disable the automatic emergency braking.
How are you my friend! I just did a test on pressing the Excelerator while my 4Runner was trying to break because someone was stopped in front of me. It doesn’t disengage it? I pressed the Excelerator several times and it does not work on my 2021. Oh well. 😎
@@SarasotaTim It seems that you’re right, it looks like every time this happened to me and i pressed the gas, the vehicle in front must’ve moved out of my way and the system didn’t bother continuing to warn me/ brake..? causing me to think i disabled the system. Sorry about the misinformation. Apparently it’s federal regulations that when the brakes and gas are applied, the brakes are priority and in this case, the car would be applying brakes and driver would be applying throttle.

Interesting. I am planning a PA trip in the summer. Will try some of this stuff out
You must and “I can drive 55” 🎸🎶 😎

That is correct. I mainly use the radar mode on the freeway. 😎

Show us what you're talking about. That's what video is for. You could have recorded this as an audio file.
You need to better explain what the radar really does with the variable distance bars that you can set regarding following distance.
Ok. 😎

Learned two things thanks🤙. (Brake lights do come on and tap the gas to continue) 😎

OK, thanks for getting back to me on this. If you figure out any other cool tips and tricks about our 4Runners let me know.😎
Isn’t there a way to turn off the radar and just use the the regular cruise control?
Yes you can. 😎
does the car turns by itself?
What if your going up hill?
It’ll accelerate. 😎
@@SarasotaTim no wayyy that’s siiick. I needa try it now
