Just did one. It was simple. 1 hr without ratcheting wrenches and walking back and forth looking for a light and extension cord. Key to this is moving the canister out of the way to get motor out
Help. My new starter has a cardboard spacer on the shaft and it says Do Not Remove. In the picture, yours did too but when you installed it I could not see if it was there or not. Can you help please!
My grandfather starter have a 3inch gap, on the first part you insert it into. He got it redone, is it supposed to be put that way? He cannot put it all the way in
Thanks for the info on the industry standard, I'll keep that in mind for the next project. I just used what I had extra laying around the garage. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for watching! Just a reminder if you have the original style oil filter you will have to take it off to have enough room to pull the starter off and replace it.
In the video before this one I installed the spin on oil filter which made it easier to replace the starter. If you have the original cannister oil filter it will have to come off to have the clearance for the starter to be replaced. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!

I got my ratcheting bendix locked up what do I do?
Is there any mark on this kind of starter that indicates voltage?

Green or White are modern "industry standards" for grounds. Otherwise, good advise. That's how I wire my lights.

How do you know if your starter is bad? Would there be a click noise?
It's either clicking or turning over slowly. Thanks for the comment!
