- Hi Friends!! It's another Stitch Fix Unboxing and Try On for you!! If you aren’t familiar with Stitch Fix, it is an online fashion subscription service. You set up the frequency of the boxes you want to receive, and for a $20 styling fee, they will send you 5 items. You have 3 days to try on the items. Anything you don’t want, you send back in the prepaid mailer. Anything you do want to purchase, the $20 styling fee is applied. If you do not purchase anything, you will lose that $20 styling fee. For my sizing: I am 5’9”
I normally prefer size large in tops and sweaters
For pants, I normally take a size 10 and I need a inseam length of 30”-32” for skinny jean styles and for bootcut or straight leg, I prefer a 34” inseam.
For dresses I normally wear a size 12

I stopped ordering any boxes because I feel they are sending cheap clothing and if you are over 50, they seem to send grandma clothes. You are beautiful and can pull of the latest trends.

I agree with you and everyone else that this box was underwhelming. A box of Polyester tops for $40 and up? No, thanks. I just tried two SF boxes with the styling fees waived and returned both boxes and canceled. The clothes weren’t as nice as the prices made them out to be. 😂 I tried my first Wantable box and kept a really bite pair of pants and a shirt to wear with them. And they were things I wouldn’t have chosen for myself. Maybe you could try Wantable instead? 🤷🏻♀️Good luck with your next box. I love Short Story, but that’s not for you. 😊 Maybe you need one called Tall Tale. 😝

Although this box was- Meh. I have had really good Stitch Fix boxes in the past. So, who knows. My next one could be great!
I have used Wantable many times and it used to be my favorite, but I am taking a break from them for a bit, because my last few boxes were not good.

I completely agree with you. I stopped Stitch fix and I started Wantable. Not sure how it will go because their “stream” that you select things you like was underwhelming to say the least.
Hope you have some good luck with Wantable. That one used to be my favorite, but I am pausing a bit as I couldn't find anything on the Stream that really excited me!

I have to agree with you on the items. Just very plain and very expensive. You could find these pieces for a lot less at any one of the discount stores.

Yes that sure was a boring box and don’t blame you for feeling negative, I would too😉 the green color on you was beautiful but just an average top, the peach one was also a nice color but just average in style. I was just in Maurice’s yesterday and they had tops very similar in color and cute style for much less. All you can do is keep trying maybe things will improve for summer🌞🌞 Have a great week my friend🥰🌸🌹

Oh gosh, no need to apologize Tina. It was definitely a boring box and you should never settle for just 'meh' clothing. As you said, you don't "need" anything so I hope you didn't purchase any of those pieces. You have much cuter clothes in your own closet!

I would not wear cheap polyester tops like that ,go for cotton. that’s just my opinion. I think you would look a lot better in some cotton. You’re too pretty to wear those cheap tops.😊
Hi there. I have gotten a few really cute cotton tops form Old Navy recently and some great linen ones form Quince. I will admit that SF doesn't seem to have a lot of cotton tops. Or at least, I don't get a lot of them.

Hi Tina you are gorgeous! I really wonder if they have stylists anymore I keep getting a note that isn’t personalized. They need to be careful they are going to loose customers. They should just give us a discount on the freestyle clothing. My box was not too bad Ofcourse I liked 3 out of 5 I really don’t want to keep the other 2 I have to figure it out. I know sometimes doing that Stitch Fix math is tricky because it sometimes is cheaper keeping everything! So this one wasn't great, but the good thing about SF, is there is always another box and the next one might be great!

I thought 1 and 2 were too loose fitted for you. I would definitely nix them. I thought 3 and 4 looked good. I especially liked the green top. The coral looked good also. Number 5, didn't care for the color and I thought the high neckline would be too warm to wear during the summer. I liked your jeans tho!

I'm wondering how you have your preferences set in your profile? I've had mine set to "adventurous" for awhile, and I think that it helped. My last 4 fixes have been 5/5 because I am getting lots of fun trendy stuff. To be honest I'm not sure if they really even pay attention to that or not but it could not hurt to take a look. But I've been lucky - I've had my stylist forever, and she does a great job for me. That said - nothing for you to apologize for - it was a boring box for sure. I would not keep anything. Thank you for sharing - wishing better luck for you in the future! And they ARE still offering the style pass- my husband just renewed his. 🙂

The peacock blue/green shirt is a really pretty color on you. I agree though, they are nothing special. I could definitely find similar items at a discount retailer (TJ Maxx, Marshalls).

Some boxes are just like this, my friend! I have to wonder if the frequent switching of stylists is part of the problem. Maybe just asking for the latest styles, like you suggested, would help?

I agree it definitely wasn’t the best box. I would have to say the coral top was my favorite because it was springy and colorful. The green I thought was maybe a little tight around the chest. Loved the color of the blue but not the style. The brown again a cute style but not a good color, the plaid was not a good look for you. So I would either pass on everything which is a possibility or the coral one. Maybe pick your favorite color and tell them you want all tops in emerald green or royal blue or pink for summer and see what you get. Might be kind of fun. Hope you are well my sweet friend. 😊❤️

It drives me crazy when plaid tops have pockets and the plaid does not align. Then there was that old man vibe. 😀 The blue one was too boxy on you. The green top is fine, the peach one is fine, but it is really long. The brown one is not your color. The neckline would drive me crazy! It is not flattering on you. I asked for all solid colored SS tops and that is what I got. Same as you, nothing to exciting but that was what I asked for. I have a keeper or two in my box. I have a abundance of printed tops and asked for some solids. Every fix I say I need a 31/32 length pant leg. They started paying attention and I got some great jeans that way!
Hi Lynne! Like I said in the video, I don't think I make it easy because I don't need anything, so I really am only hoping for things that make me happy! Glad to hear you did get some good basic tops in your last fix. Problem with me for pants is that I need a 34" inseam and they really don't carry a lot in that length.

Hi Tina! Well, this is basically the reason I've stopped getting SF. Boring, overpriced pieces. I think we are both all set with clothes lol so if we want to add something it needs to be interesting and spark joy. This stuff was blah. Send it all back while you still have the option. The thing is also we may like a top but there are never color options.. Nothing special about these tops. I wonder what the difference would be in the items if you were to pick a different price range in the profile.

Oh Tina! That was a dud box. The only item I semi liked was the peach top. I thought the same thing about the black and white plaid shirt! Lol! I’m having the same problem with my boxes. I’m not getting clothes I’d wear. They keep sending long sleeve shirts! It gets very hot in OK. I’m thinking about increasing my price range to see if that makes a difference on styles. I write notes to my stylist but still not getting good items. You look so defeated. My box gets here next week. I think I only chose 1 item in my preview. So, we’ll see…Kiss Louie for me and hugs to you!

Hi Tina. No you’re right it was a blah fix. With spring and summer coming you’d want something fun and bright and unique for the coat. A stand out itme. It was all ho hum blah. Honestly I don’t think Walmart even has such boring stuff or blah colors. Better luck next time ❤

Of all of them, the coral was the only one i thought was ok. But if it's not an automatic yes, it probably needs to be a no because you probablybwont reach for it. 😂 at old man on vacation.

Oh that's a disappointment for you - they don't seem to be taking you into account at all when they sent you products. TBH you could have come up with a better Fix for yourself. Mind, I did like the brown top although agree about the colour - maybe a creamy beige would have been better. I think if you are going to continue with them, your idea of asking them to send you the most current pieces is probably best. Have a great Sunday and a really good week!

You need to go to the new category and add things to your wishlist. Add a TON. I have over 100 items on mine. I have an upcoming fix and while it may not be your style, she was able to accommodate my requests from my list.
Oh and update your profile. Especially the “new to me” as to how adventurous you want to be.

@@tinasbestmidlife the algorithm keeps choosing things like you picked in the past and that is all that is displayed to the stylist to suggest. Unfortunately, shopping freestyle helps, too. The more they get an idea of what you want, the better the algorithm works!
Ohhh Tina…good grief 🤦🏻♀️ As soon as I saw ‘old man on vacation’ top, I thought all you need is a straw fedora hat & outfit complete!! lol. Totally agree the last top would be so cute in a different color. You are right..my sister has left so many notes for her stylist & she may follow it for one or two boxes, then reverts back to sending her nothing that matches her style or budget. Hmmm, maybe she hit a jackpot of some sort 💰 but no one told her 😆 We are both due for our fixes at the same time; however, she is again rejecting the whole first preview. I can tell that you're not thrilled with the 1st top. It doesn't do anything for you. The 2nd top, in blue, looks too big on you. Why are they sending you such matronly tops?
I like the pinky/peach top. The color is so pretty on you.
I happen to like the brown top. The style is cute, but I wish it was a brighter color for you.

The tops from Walmart were a lot cuter and more flattering. I am not sure that dolman sleeves look good on you. It seems like the clothes in the subscriptions do not have much shape and are very sloppy looking.

Auuughhh! They're all terrible, don't keep any of them. I stopped SF about 6 years ago and I swear some of the tops they were sending me THEN, looked just like what you got NOW! They must have a warehouse full of old, crappy stuff.
