I make the request on a new video for an in depth map control video, and a couple weeks later Gregor delivers with a video more helpful than I could've asked for. What a G
I like this stuff, even though my friends aren’t tactical enough to play like this I enjoy it, I believe the first time I saw a video like this was when you were analyzing that pro play match on your how to castle video.
Same here it's almost like meeting a unicorn in the wild if someone actually plays rainbow six siege they think it's too slow pace go take a look at some body cams of different individuals that have to deal with these kind of situations slow and steady wins the race
Me: a person who prefers coastline over Kafe and Skyscraper My team: They’re gonna ban skyscraper so let’s ban Coastline Also me: We’re on defense first wtf is with these people
Excellent guide! To summarize in simple words: Map Control enables a team to watch and hold useful line of sights where the enemy team might potentially come from and at the same time, prevent other team from doing the same, thereby enforcing your team's control over a certain area. As an attacker, you do this by approaching the objective area from key entry paths and clearing enemies and their defense along the way. As a defender, you hold key areas around/ on the objective site, making lines of sight in the preparation/ defend phase while also ensuring the that your back is covered.
I’ve noticed that a lot of people have a shocking inability to correctly assess a situation and figure out what angles to hold or positions to play. This error becomes incredibly noticeable during executions and post plants for both defenders and attackers. To execute, the attacking team needs to clear out every playable position which can either deny the plant or deny access to the plant spot while also covering every possible rotation into these places. The defenders must either maintain presence in these positions or fall back and indirectly deny plant in low time situations. All relevant possibilities must be addressed and you shouldn’t even consider peaking/pushing anything else. That would be inefficient and unnecessarily risky to your winning odds.
I'd love this style but can you put your gameplay side by side with the top down view so we can see both sides of the game progress ? Actually seeing how it looks while playing helps solidify it mentally. Atleast for me
This kind of stuff is amazing! Guides on how to hold/take certain maps or points could help this community a ton. I see a lot of players just reinforces walls because it's what they are supposed to do but don't really know why, such as the one you pointed out in this video. Would love to see more like this
Please keep this analytical stuff going. Teaches me more about the game than other source. Also, any tips for playing with just a 2 stack would be a great video since most people only have 2 or 3 people to work with.
this was a very helpful video. As a copper 1, I can finally begin to understand the depths and complexity of this game thanks to your accessible approach to content. I hope you make more of these analytical content in the future. It would mean a lot for everyone, including me.
Bump. We need more guides like this. This is the content we need and the r6 community wants to learn. I’m tired of seeing garbage tip videos like “how to increase your kd”
I believe currently the problem isn’t the how to improve your kd one, but rather guides on very linear styles of play. The fighting game community calls this spreadsheet playstile. Shield placement is interesting but if one just bases their decisions on one single playcment the game becomes less dynamic.
Despite being a veteran I love seeing these kinds of videos. Getting other players’ insights as to how they perceive core, unspoken mechanics is invaluable to me and this series is great. Keep up the dank content Gregor.
I know it doesn’t net you as many views, but these videos are EXTREMELY helpful. I have over 1,000 hours in siege and I am still learning from your videos. Thanks for the good content, man :)
I like. Still the default with a 5 stack is to attack your "thorough" way, or from the other side as pro players have shown us is also very much possible, just as an example of bom A vs B being in focus. Definitely can recommend to learn shields as they are the easiest way to gain or deny map control.
Loved the concept of the video and think there's a real vacuum for this content that you could fill since Reaper retired. As for the birds eye view, I think a little bit more editing could've been done to really show which operator is which and also their line of sights.
Awesome video! I really like Oregon as it's not so much defender sided as other maps tend to be. And I can only second the even more in depth video about map control. Also why giving the attackers "free real estate" is not the play would be a topic I'd like to hear you talk about.
Analytical Siege content would be very interesting to watch! I encourage you to do more of that, it would also be neat to see more Pro League analysis if that's something you're into
This is a good video about it but damn as a regular siege player I’ve realized how depth siege has because only six minutes to explain map control it doesn’t seem nearly enough
Gregor since every video you've ever thought of immediately materialises and becomes reality, I'm slightly confused why you havent uploaded a Thinderbird How-To. I'm joking man keep up the videos! I'll watch no matter what your playing.

Agree
Man this is exactly the problem I have.
Greg is one of the few people who has the personality and editing style to make really analytical stuff interesting.
This is really helpful as I'm just getting into r6 again. Thank you

in pro play your absolutely correct, but in ranked everyone just wants to take gun fights because thats way more fun
Spatial awareness is less common than people who have it realize
I'd love this style but can you put your gameplay side by side with the top down view so we can see both sides of the game progress ? Actually seeing how it looks while playing helps solidify it mentally. Atleast for me
Yooooo stonks, another Gregor vid! Love the content man, keep it coming!

I don’t even play siege anymore these videos are just entertaining
This is the first time I heard about open maps vs linear maps. Great vid!
Really appreciate this kind of in depth content. I know it might not get as much views, but you break down the info so damn well!!
"THINK, CAV THINK. HOW CAN YOU KEEP MAP CONTROL IF YOU LET THE ENEMY TAKE THE SITE?"
"but they dont have area around site!"
I like these more than the operator how-to's, a lot of players don't understand the importance of playing tactical sometimes. Great video Greg!

For real. Imagine thinking K/D is important in this game..

Keep up the dank content Gregor.
This was really useful! I'm really bad at learning the maps so the switching back and forth between the top down and first person helped orient me
Would love to see more vids like this, just started taking ranked seriously with a 5 stack.
I know it doesn’t net you as many views, but these videos are EXTREMELY helpful. I have over 1,000 hours in siege and I am still learning from your videos. Thanks for the good content, man :)
I love how you simplify your squad plan and push. Lookin forward for more!
Great vid Greg. I think a video on each map and important things to hold would be awesome.
Loved jumping from in game POV to the top down!
Good stuff Greg. Really enjoying the analytical vids.
I like this a lot! The combo of commentary, gameplay and top-down visuals is great. Thanks
Totally here for all the strategy and tactical theory videos! Thank you!

Love this format! Great job 👏🏻
This was put together really well. Good job.
amazing video, this takes such a good look at high levels of siege and there's nothing comparable, keep it up!
Just started playing and I discovered your channel. Great stuff, nice pace and good humor!
Do more of this, it's great content for people like me, who are always trying to improve.
Honestly, stuff like this should be in game as watchable tutorials. A hell of a lot more useful than anything in game for learning how to play it
This was a good video! I'd definitely like to see more analytical siege stuff like this.
Sucks that I probably won't be able to use this info since I'm soloqueue, but this was really useful! I'd love to see more of this type of content!
Loved the concept of the video and think there's a real vacuum for this content that you could fill since Reaper retired.

Been trying to explain this to my friends, now they have no excuse! Thank you so much for the content

Analytical siege content really helps, looking forward to more
I just got into siege this year, i would watch and appreciate any video like this anytime
Love the content Gregor! i enjoyed this video! voice is solid, Edits are clean and the Script if you did write one was short sweet and to the point!
Yes yes absolutely more of this stuff. A good tier of complexity that I can show to newbie friends that helps get folks on the same page
Liked the video before I even watched. Your content is legit, much love!
More please, lookin forward to them
Thanks for sponsoring this video Ubisoft. Wherever you are.
Good video. Makes an otherwise probably boring subject quite interesting
love this type of vids, also your callout one before, would love to see more
I’ve been playing for 4 years and still watch Greg’s content just goes to show how good his content is

That’s like saying we need air to breathe. Every Gregor video is helpful!

Yes this is why I like to shoot out windows on or near site so that defemders have to worry abt another line of sight
I want WAY more of this!
Thanks for the quality information wrapped in memery. 💪
Excellent content Gregory.
I don’t know the last time I played Siege but I still enjoy your videos
A video not sponsored by Ridge? Who are you? Lol
In all seriousness, I like the change in pace of videos lately. Keep it up Greg!
I don't even play siege anymore but for some reason I'm still watching this
Thunderbird is overpowered. 3 speed, assault rifle, machine pistol, impact or c4, unlimited perma heals, 3 gadgets. Its ridiculous.
Love the videos Gregor!

MORE VIDEO BREAKDOWNS! Great Video!
I dont get how this stuff gets less views then the other videos this shits great
This is a good video about it but damn as a regular siege player I’ve realized how depth siege has because only six minutes to explain map control it doesn’t seem nearly enough
Hooo Boy here goes Gregor again explaining another complex Concept to a pea brain like me.
i want the callout video again!
but this shit is good too so i dont care keep it up greg

Gregor got that "please ban me im using walls" gun skin
Anybody know what Gregor's intro music is? Been wondering lately
Lord Gregor uploads again!!
I may be a dirty unbanked console player. But I’m new and definitely find this content useful
This is amazing but i would like to know what it means as a defender roaming to deny map control
these kind of videos are very helpful to improve my gameplay, only if my aim was as good as my knowledge...
Yes please more analytical r6 content
Ay but that new halo stuff looked kinda neato.
More of this!
Fantaastic video dawg
i love ur vids man
