    Assante was that dude. Smart as hell. Best route jumping corner I've ever seen. He gambled, but mostly won. HOF corner IMO. He was easily one of the best of his era.

      I like him but he doesn’t communicate well enough. I hate Brandon Marshall but watch a minute of each one explaining something and Brandon is 10x more marketable for that type of role.
      The audience spans many ages with many backgrounds so being able to communicate clearly so the most people can understand is the most important.

    Bro dude was cold af! He in my top 3 DB’s. Asante was the smallest person on the field and balling out. Plus he had gold teeth at the time and I was a teen with gold teeth. You couldn’t get nothing on him and he played 7-10 yards off the line of scrimmage and you would think a quick curl route would get him but that shit would get picked off. Dude the goat!

    Asante is from Broward and is a product of his environment. He is a hero, family man, and beat a lot of odds! A leader and very honest. His numbers are up there 👆 Top 5! But just like the world politics hold real individuals back! He is the TO of defense that the hall of fame will try to keep out. He is outspoken and stands for what he believes in!     My favorite cb I remember meeting him off the field n down to earth athlete for sure. I had a sharpie and a football 🏈 that I had got the night b 4 cause I knew we were going to meet him cause he was picking up a vehicle from my boss which was a Toyota Tundra that he got as a rental from our Delaership Ford in MA Rt.1 near the mall don’t know if he would remember this. I sure did still have the ball in my collection till this day!!!! He also gave us player tickets to the playoff game against the Jags that yr one of many game we got to watch it was one of many good games we got to watch !!!!🎉😢🎉🎉🎉🎉 Samuels you def in the books as A ++++++ CB.

    I can't remember who the Patriots were playing but I'll never forget Asante Samuel running towards the quarterback as if he was coming on a corner blitz, only to drop back in his back pedal and the quarterback threw it straight to him, man they showed it slow motion one of the best plays ever, been doing it in Madden ever since. 😄😄

    When he broke down why Nnamdi was overrated it really blew my mind that it was that plain and simple though it never really cross my mind or never bought up by anyone as to why he struggled with the Eagles.

      Nmandi was dominant on the Raiders. Dude gave up like 47% completion percentage for 4 years in a row in man to man coverage. Asante couldn’t have did that.

      @@cperkins5050 It was even more dominate then that. 2007-2010 pass thrown his way and completions 2007 31 passes 10 completions, 2008 27 passes 8 completions, 2009 27 passes 13 completion and 2010 27 passes 10 completions. He went 4 years with less then 2 passes a game thrown against him. And less then a completion a game against him. He is as a beast in man coverage and took the qbs blind side of the field away. I was just enter college as a KC chiefs die hard fan. And those stats match my memory of his man to man skills. His down fall was going to Philly and playing zone. Philly wanted to let him match wr instead of treating him like a LT or RT as a CB. He knew every blade of grass a a rcb and every move or angle a wr could make from that side of the field. Raiders team d pass yards a game 2007 261 yards per game, 2008 266, 2009 259 and 2010 249. The rest of the d could zero in on everybody else

      Asomugha was an elite bump and run man cover CB in Oakland playing off zone in Philly. It’s not like Asante didn’t also get burned constantly except he was a ballhawk. Andy Reid also made his Oline coach Juan Castillo his DC and he
      didn't know wtf he was doing

      I think he’s a little biased towards Nnamdi there’s definitely something personal there. I think nnamdi was just a scheme corner As long as you played to his strengths and specific coverage styles he was good he went to Philly and they tried to get him to play off man and zone.

    Imma Eagles fan and Asante was one of the best players we ever had..
    He was soo good at getting us the football and making huge plays that changed games.. We had a great playoff run one season and it was mainly him picking off Eli Manning, and Tavaris Jackson in big spots that fueled that playoff run
    Guy was INVALUABLE out there for us

    Champ was one of the best CBs in NFL history. Top 3 all time. Asante was great for sure and was amazing in ATL and NE.

    I know he's most famous for the interception he didn't get but, damn, he was bound to drop one at SOME point. From 2005-2010 Asante Samuel played 9 playoff games. He picked off 7 passes and took 4 to the house. He snatched 51 more regular season passes intended for the other team in his career and got into the end zone with 6 of them. Asante was a MONSTER. Why would you EVER throw an out route to his side of the field?

    Always loved Asante, one of my all-time favorite Eagles even though he came from the Patriots. The Vick era in Philly was just amazing if you really think about all the talent we had on those teams, the fact we didn’t win a SB is just disappointing. To think our secondary had Asante, Nnamdi, & DRC at one time is just crazy. Had Dawkins stayed in Philly for those last couple years instead of going to Denver who knows he might have gotten his ring in Philly where he belonged. Still happy Dawk got a ring though. Also being a sports card collecter it’s really sad that Asante hasn’t signed anything, like you can’t find any of his sports cards that are auto’d.
