Love when glasper sits down and his playing just stops sounding like typical glasper and more like just a jazz classic... true marksmanship of a master practiced jazz musician
I got to see this trio on maybe their 1st trip to CA yrs ago at MJF. They were playing the entrance lounge all night, and my buddy and I never made it to the main arena- too enthralled. Thanks for sharing, great to see them at it!
Whereas the drummer definitely maintains a pretty identifiable sound with more modern influences for sure. Glasper just sits back and blends into the past and future in a timeless sort of way. Beautiful
Thank U for sharing 🎶💯👉🏽💚♻️ Beautiful COLLABS w Robert Glasper & crew. I so remember sitting in the audience, enjoying his sets. I missed this recent performance at the Blue Note NYC. I LOVE GLASPER'S projects / creative vision. 🎶 Tree-nj-usa 🌱

They ended up playing Evidence (Thelonius Monk)/ Silly rabbit (Glasper)
@@dakaugu Thank you for pointing that out!! I've corrected the comment.
Kenny.Kirkland "Dienda"
Wow
@@joweeo You're welcome. I wasn't very familiar with Kenny Kirkland's music, but his performances with Branford Marsalis are amazing too.
Glasper, Glasper, Glasper. Pure musical genius! I love Glasper❤❤❤❤❤❤

I love Damion Reid 🙏
Not sure why but I've always liked the sound of jazz in a bar vs a big stage
The acoustics sounds better..
the instruments need less amplification if they need any at all

I feel ya, Robert Glasper
My brotha, come to Texas...
Robert failed to mention the title of the opening song "Alter Ego", and didn't give the writer/pianist, the late James Williams his props.
Appreciate the info!
❤
I went to the Rob + Nora show, which was great, but wish I had hit this one also.
Black Radio 123, The Experiment...etc...that's all good and cool and such. But this is what I'm talking about if you please.
❤
interestingly, the first song seems like a kind of version of 500 Miles, by Chico Korea. Has anyone else thought about this?
