Paula Scher already had a reputation at that meeting in the late 90's, having been part of Pentagram since 1991, in the renown agency founded in 1972, and so there wasn't really much of an obstacle to convince the 2 banks that had partnered to go along with her solution scribbled on a napkin. If bringing in the big bucks is about being able to convince the Client to agree with the proposal how would she have fared if she was representing a start up agency? Then again, i doubt that merger would have placed such high expectations in the hands of a new outfit.
Just start charging more money. Go from 10k to 15k. You’d be surprised that people are probably willing to pay. Then after a few clients pay 15k, go up to 25k. Keep going. When people stop paying is when you know you’re charging too much. Your logos are worth more than you think. (This is based on advice from Chris Do)
What you were saying at the end about convincing the whole team to go with the same logo, do you think that means that AI will never be able to take over logo design? Because the people using it to make a logo wouldn't agree on it?
Of course. Lot's of good unknown logos but also great companies with terrible logos. It has a lot to do with marketing. Think about Nike. The reason they can show the logo without the company name is because they are so good at marketing and put so much money into it.
right persons need to be paid well since they're rare, but still 1.5mil is huge amount no matter the xp she has, for me it's just greed from a guru in that field...
@@GPbeats_prod I hope you read the 1st part of my comment 1st right ? And for overpricing yes it is. Because it's not about the work itself but about how much you can pay... You think it's ok to pay that amount of money in a logo ? I'd like to hear your opinion.
She is selling her thinking/strategy and the logo is only a souvenir!
Step 1: be Paula Scherr

I love videos like this! History of brands and how they came about is fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Agreed! You have to build authority and position yourself as an expert. If not they won’t see the value.

Exactly. It's a bout the mindset. At least try and see. If you go high the client can always negotiate back, but if you go too low you are screwed.
Thanks bro 🙏🙌💯 helpful
amazing info thanks

Maybe Ai can convince the team as well, who knows?
Today: „I practiced my whole life - that’s a 100.000“ … customer: well… we will finish it internal.. son of the boss knows a bit Photoshop.
I always wondered if Nike or Apple or FedEx didn't have good products or services, their logos would be this famous/popular??

@@waxmaster-c right. some clients want a logo that works like Nike's or Apple's, but don't have much budget for marketing
How to quantify the value of the logo design btw
Ran I love you but you need to start pronouncing the H in huge and other words that start with H
