Sounds great! After you’ve had it for a while now, do you still like it? Has it had any noticeable affects on you MPG, or any other performance metrics? Thanks!
@@phgunr Hi Paul, thanks for the feedback & question. I'll be honest - I like it most of the time, but sometimes I *do* miss the quiet ride, particularly if I have anyone else in the car with me (like my kids). I haven't noticed any impact on my MPG or performance, but 2020 has been a weird year and I only drive ~50 miles per week, so it's hard to get a representative sample. I'll do some measurements and report back!
I have a 2011 Outback and looking for a little more sound. I also have a BMW that has a muffler and cat delete. I am used to loud exhausts. How is this as a daily?? Just looking to bring out that boxer rumble
@@marcholler4047 It’s good, and based on your description of the BMW I think you’ll be happy with this on your Outback. I do a lot of conference calls, including while I’m driving, and this has made those slightly more difficult.
@@helloandymoore awesome! I have some off road mods on it (all terrain tires, bull bar, rally lights) so I think getting a little more aggressive sound will match the look of it. Thanks for the response man!
Awesome video. My daughter just bought a '17 Outback for herself and actually asked me to make it sound like my Impreza that has a Borla muffler. I showed her this video and she said it's exactly what she was hoping for. Got me a weekend project coming up I guess. Thanks for making this video. 🙂
Looks great, sounds even better! I've been debating this kit for awhile now. I keep trying to find a good before/after sound comparison but everyone seems so excited to put it on they never show a video of how it sounds before!
Ooh, that's a good point. I guess I figured most OB owners will know how their car sounds, but now that you mention it, I can totally see how it's difficult to compare real life vs a video.
Thanks for the video, couldn't find anything on how to do this...I'm doing a straight swap with a standard walker on my 2015 as the baffle welds have gone making it vibrate. Looks pretty easy and no jack stands required.
Thanks fir the comment! It’s very straightforward. I do highly recommend buying the exhaust hanger bushing removal tool. Saves you from scraping the skin off your knuckles.
Right on, Joseph. It seriously couldn't be easier to replace, with one KEY note: Buy the exhaust hanger bushing removal tool. It's only $25 and I PROMISE you'll be thankful you did. shop.namelessperformance.com/exhaust-hanger-removal-tool/ Those bushings are surprisingly difficult to remove and the tool makes it 300% easier.
Thanks for this, been debating this on our 2010 outback.. like you I have a wife and kids, so the noise is a concern. We just did a 2” lp aventure lift on ours and it’s made the factory exhaust much more visible and we aren’t fans. I think I’ll be picking this up. 👍
@@helloandymoore We went with LP because we had seen a few lp lifted Subaru’s in person and they looked great, their lift also works with the stock springs and shocks & they had free shipping when we ordered 😁. I ended up having to replace the rear shocks once we got them out as they were blown. My only regret is not replacing the stock springs with a stiffer spring when I had it all apart.. we just went camping this weekend and the rear end has A LOT of sag under load. I’m going to be ordering some king springs from primitive racing to try and eliminate that sag. Other than that I don’t have any complaints with the Lp set up 🤙
Yes! Super easy to install. Only issues was that they originally sent me the wrong size nuts, but they were quick to send me the correct ones once I called.
"my son said, is that our car? I don't like it, take it off" dad: "that's not an option" 😂 🤣 👍 Ours just shipped & should arrive today (for our Outback Wilderness 🤘) We ordered Oct 22 last year 🚘
You know, I haven’t really considered effect on mpg. I don’t drive much these days due to Covid, but next tank I’ll definitely do the math and see how it stacks up!
@@corbinhart9568 Dash computer says I’m averaging 24mpg on this tank. That’s mostly all city streets and, well, last week we had a blizzard so may not be representative of normal driving habits. 🤣
Not loud at all. You can hear something but not anoying at all. I think it's a good thing that you can hear that your motor reving. I put dual WRX on my H6 and I anjoy them alot. If anybody dont like the rumble...they can walk .
Installed this exact muffler on 2017 OB, six months later I’m debating installing the factory one. It’s incredibly loud inside the car. The droning on the highway is obnoxious as well. Definitely not what I had hoped for.
Totally understand, and in full disclosure I re-installed the factory muffler on mine as well. It felt like most of my driving was right at the peak noise RPM, making it too hard to talk to my kids much less make phone calls.
My understanding is no - it’s a simple bolt-on modification that doesn’t affect any sensors or the drivetrain in any way. Just to err on the side of caution, you might ping the folks at Nameless Performance - they’re great at answering stuff like that.
EXTREMELY easy. Literally like 2 bolts. The real key, though, is to buy the exhaust hanger removal tool - pulling those loos without it is possible but very difficult and you’ll def bloody up your knuckles. The tool makes it much, much easier and is, in my opinion, worth the $30ish.
Use the longest socket wrench you can - I stepped up to a 1/2" drive that has a 12" handle, and that made it a LOT easier. Gotta really torque on it, maybe whack the handle end with a rubber mallet.
Hi Peter, it’s the Curt 133390 class III hitch. I installed it before I created this channel, but it’s a pretty straightforward install. Here’s a link to the product: smile.amazon.com/dp/B0033WNJBO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_.dh8FbAVETYZ7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Not that I’ve noticed. My hope is that, if anything, it would compensate for the additional weight & airflow disruption of my roof basket, light bar, and trailer hitch.
What do you think? Too loud? Not loud enough? Lemme know!

Does it do a difference in gas mileage
Does this void the drive train warranty?

For someone who only has a little bit of knowledge when it comes to cars, how easy is it to install?

Do you know the size of the bolts & nuts? I need to purchase some
If memory serves they were either 10mm or 14mm, but I'm not certain.
Trying to do the exact same thing with similar tools and the bolts just won’t budge. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have an install video for the wiring harness, though: ua-cam.com/video/IJjdAOgOMV8/v-deo.html
how many decibels does it produce?
Alas, I don't have a meter for that!
would this be the same process for the muffler delete version?
Yep, I think so!
Jeff Goldblum?
Did you lift the vehicle to do the swap?
Nope, it’s totally accessible, just lay on your back underneath and wrench away!
The person that disliked the vid was your son
hahahah
did you do both sides
Not sure what you mean, exactly, but my Outback is a 4 cyl and thus only has one muffler. The 6 cyl models have dual exhaust.
Did it add any MPGs?

a quality piece for sure, just not for me. folgers racing. thanks for posting

Almost same with STI muffler (see vid on my channel). But after 2000 rpm it’s as quite as stock, on 4000 nice Rrr sound, but still quite
Yep, exactly. Nice purr at highway speeds.
