I am a Graphic Designer, Photographer & Visual Artist. I have always loved makeup but never had the opportunity to pursue it. I graduated with my BA Degree in Visual Communication in 2011 and since then I have worked in a corporate 8-5 environment wishing to be my own boss, never been able to quit my 8-5 job.
I am very passionate and creative and always dreamt of having financial freedom as well as time to actually do the things that set my heart on fire instead of working between four corporate walls and waiting for life to just pass me by. I have realized that I don’t want a rushed and stress filled lifestyle. I want financial and time freedom; be able to quit my corporate job and live life on my own terms, the way I want to.

Since childhood I was fascinated by makeup. I used to cherish my little collection of makeup and as I was growing up and reading magazines I hoped that one day I would be able to purchase all those beautiful lipsticks, eyeshadows, brushes and what not.
Now I do own everything I wished for as a child, I probably own a lot more than a woman needs. I often times do my friends’ makeup 🙂 Prom makeup, event makeup, wedding makeup despite not being a makeup artist. They love it, and it looks good on pictures. I’m self taught. I do makeup instinctively. However I wish I had more knowledge about different skin tones, different eye shapes and face shapes and what suits them. I wish I was a lot more professional in my approach.

I would love to win this! I feel so many of like to use makeup as an escape to be different. Changing our makeup is endless. We can change it with using different colors and products. We can always learn more and new techniques. I have always been surprised how many people out there really have no idea how to put on makeup or what to use for application. I have had such a love affair with makeup and using it on others who would not dare try anything new. They are usually surprised how “different” they look, where I tell them I just enhanced their natural beauty. And a little goes a long way.

I've been practising makeup for almost 10 years now, but I have very little experience with clients. In February 2020 I quit my job to become a makeup artist, I but sadly I couldn't work because of covid. So I don't have an income all year, haven't purchased makeup in forever. I am a mother of five. I have always loved makeup from a young age. I would come to UA-cam to watch Maya and other makeup artist. I own a lot of eyeshadows and lipsticks. I was working full-time, hoping to buy a bigger place for my family since the kids are getting bigger but Covid happen so I had to quit my full time job last July and homeschool my kids because I know how important their education is. This made me realize that life is unpredictable. I have been praying and asking God to show me what I can do to change my life. I want something that will allow me to do what I need to do for my kids and also work at the same time. When I can across this video I feel like this is the answer to my pryers.
Makeup has been all I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I don't even know where the passion came from. When I was really young, way before UA-cam and with very little access to media and publications, I somehow picked up the passion for makeup. Doing my great grandmother's makeup with my kid's makeup kit, all while she is saying how beautiful it is, is one of my best memories. She was a good sport because that makeup was a mess! Lol But the encouragement was well received, and I practiced and practiced, and continue to do so. I'd do my makeup and a friend's mom would be surprised that I did it myself. I'd get up early every morning before highschool and do different makeup looks that I got from a magazine or UA-cam. Years later, I often spend my free time diving into a specific makeup look or decade, and giving it my all to do it justice and get a good Instagram post out of it. And I want to learn as many techniques as I can. I also love makeup history. People often compliment my makeup and tell me I should be a makeup artist. It makes me feel even more sure that this is what I should be doing. It's what makes me happy. I guess being a quiet, introverted person, I found my way to express myself was through my appearance; my makeup, clothing, hair, etc. Being able to portray who you are and making you and others feel good about themselves makes makeup a great confidence boost, and who doesn't love that?! Getting this certification and kit would be the biggest jumpstart I'd need to get my dream career rolling! No more holding myself back!

It would be fantastic to win this opportunity. I have always had a passion for makeup and grew up watching my mom put her make up memorizing all her moves. I’ve always been the go to friend to do makeup for special occasions and would LOVE to continue to be that person learning new and updated techniques. Your channel is literally the very first channel I subscribed to. I ate up all your videos because you actually taught how to apply the makeup. Much of “tutorials” out there aren’t an actual tutorial, they tend to be more of a review of new line. Your voice and the way you talk has also been a big reason for watching your videos as well. It may sound silly but it’s very calming to watch and listen to your videos.
Sadly the mask situation here in the US has really put a damper on much of my daily makeup application but it also has given me an opportunity to focus on the eyes. I have a teenage daughter who has also developed my love of makeup. I would love to see more of your tutorials I have really missed them.
Tutorials I would love to see from you would be on how to apply on different shaped eyes and on younger vs. older eyes, day vs night, and an every day look that anyone could wear. Techniques on how to hide puffiness, dark circles, and fatigue would be great also. Thanks so much!

I have suffered from anxiety and depression my whole life. Makeup helped me. I would come home from college and just do my makeup. It was soothing and comforting to me. It heals my depression for the moment that I am doing it. There’s nothing else but my brushes and my canvas and there is no limit to what I can do. Makeup pulls me back from the brink when I feel I am losing control. I think of makeup as an art form and I am the Bob Ross of my face and my sister’s face when she has time to let me {: I just love it.
I’ve always admired makeup artist from when I was a little girl ! Me and little sister would watch tons of makeup videos and how to’s and we would love it ! After high school I traveled to Europe and after Europe I traveled to America (I’m South African)

I would love to win this, I was in the army for 18 years before getting hurt in Iraq and had to imagine doing something else besides the army which I loved and could not be in anymore due to the injuries. My next thing would be a makeup artist. I love everything about makeup, from cheap to very expensive. I have a room full of all the pretty makeup and would love to be one a makeup artist to use it all. Due to covid it's been kinda hard to start, and where to start. I live in CT and it's been very difficult here, alot of schools have closed down. One of the schools I was suppose to start has closed down for good and have not refunded us any of the money. I would LOVE to win this amazing prize. Since I was about 12 years old I liked to page through books and magazines and looked at the amazing makeup on the girls/women faces. I then realized that is what I want to do someday. I never got to go to Beauty school but last year when the pandemic hit us all, I had nothing but time and decided to to a couple of online makeup courses. I really like learning about makeup and everything that goes with it. So, to break it down,since I was 12 years old I wanted to be a makeup artist. This is my dream job! From a very young age people around me discovered a makeup artist inside me! When I was small I use to do makeup on my MOM and like this I learned it without any Guide. My favourite part of makeup is Eyes(all type of liner shape, eye shadow color matching) . I also used to do couturing with fingers when their were no such brushes. But I never thought to become a professional artist because they are a lot of artist who do a lot of mistakes and an artist must possess a Professional type DECENT personality which I see less or no. I am very good at makeup just need a guider and a proper certificate. I am following very few makeup artist including you :*
I started wearing makeup at the age of 16 because it felt like art, not necessarily to cover anything. Applying foundation or eyeshadows is a relaxing process. I have so much to learn and I want to correct the mistakes I make and this course will be perfect for me.

Getting this opportunity would mean the world to me. I have always loved makeup. Makeup to me gives me confidence and I would love to be able to give that confidence to others and Make them feel empowered. I’ve been stuck at what career I want to pursue. But being a professional makeup artist has always been a dream of mine. I am from Mexico, I've been doing makeup since I was 13 and learned everything I know since then through UA-cam since my older sister wasn't home to help me get ready for the parties here in Mexico called "xv´s" big parties they throw when you turn 15 lol, since then I started to love makeupp and everything that had to do with it, even with SPFX. When I was 15 I started my own small business of doing makeup for my friends and their relatives, but didn't have any makeup certification so when I was looking for a career (a few years later) I was thinking about joining makeup school outside Mexico but wasn't posible. I would love to do this master class so I can be a better artist and get to do courses in my city and with that I would also like to be of service to my community, I would love to give free courses for girls and women that live in not optimal conditions so that they can experiment something different, something that can be a little escape from their "world". I've always enyojed playing with makeup and since the lockdown this has become a real passion of mine, I just love trying out new looks and seeing what you can achieve with makeup. It makes me feel better and even though I couldn't go outside during lockdown I was practicing and just loving to get all creative and it often made my day.

I would love to win because makeup has been my passion from the moment I learned about it. Over the years I’ve studied different techniques and products to improve my work. I want to create my own palette.” I remember wanting to be just like you when I grew up. The other reason why I really want to win the online classes to become a makeup artist is because one of children has a disability. This has make it impossible for me to get out of this house and study. The online classes will work perfect for me because I will be able to do it from my home at anytime that I get a chance.

Hi Maya! :) I would love to win this amazing opportunity in order to pursue my dreams as a makeup artist. Growing up, it has always been a passion of mine. I always knew it was something I wanted to pursue after my education and university. I took a makeup course over the summer in 2019, in between full time semesters in university, because I was very eager to learn about the industry and get an expert opinion on the different areas that makeup touches! It was one of the coolest experiences, and it made me even more confident that I want to stay involved in this industry and become a makeup artist. I was looking into taking more advanced courses, but they are very pricy. This would be an amazing opportunity for me to learn what I am curious and motivated to know, and not stress too much financially about the whole process. I am set to graduate in the spring, and winning the master program course would bring me so much happiness! I would love to win this because I'm currently in esthetician school and I'm using all that money to pay off my tuition. I've been loving and doing my makeup since I was 11 years old and I always wanted to get my certification for it, I'm going to esthetician school to learn how to take care of my skin because I've always suffered from acne and which is a struggle when you're obsessed with makeup because I always want to look my best. I want to learn more about how to apply makeup properly and learn new tips! I also want to get my certification because I want to start a small business on makeup and have clients to do their makeup for occasions! I always hold off because of the money situation and with COVID I'm not able to get a job, and I barely go to school on campus which is also hard to build clientele and earn money that was as well :( I love to do m makeup in the meantime I'm home and a course to get a certification sounds perfect! Hello my name is aaliyah and i would love to win and become a professional makeup artist. I practiced on myself and taught myself how to do makeup from watchin youtube video and i always loved makeup but i just been so scared to go out there just do to the fact of being people telling me i would fall in that career cause not everyone wants there makeup done but im done listening to people. I been working retail, fast food since i left high school and i never been happy but when i sit done and watchin my youtube videos and practice i feel alive and that depression just goes away im in my own space and i feel amazing.
