Am I the only one who thinks that pausing the timer during quit outs is defeating the purpose of the run? It's like it's not quicker to quit out than sitting through an animation, and it's only used because you can pause the timer and skip an animation at the same time.
You basically have to kill phase 1 in the correct spot, behind where phase 2 spawns. The AI is then disabled because they can't see you in that spot. You can see the spot you want to be in in this video
