By the standards of some international bodies, Stellenbosch has the best university choral program in the world. Seems deserved.

How inspiring to not only hear this beautiful indigenous ethnic music but also realize that after four generations past the codification of Apartheid (1948), the children of Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho, Tswana, and Dutch are joyfully singing together as one.
Not enough credit is given to everyone for caring enough to learn how to pronounce vernacular songs in the way that they should be. Well done guys. Love and light

Nope no cookie for speaking the local language, I lived in the US and now in Belgium, I dont get praised for speaking the local language well because it is expected . I learnt the language in two years because I respect my host country which is more that I can say for some people who have lived in my country for many generations.

This Choir is pure class, not only can they sing beautifully but it is also a very diverse and multicultural choir, South Africa is an international Country which has some of the most beautiful songs on earth.

It's 2:30am, my husband is snoring beside me, the doggies are all piled up on me, I can't sleep, and I am grinning broadly all myself in the dark through this beautiful medley. I adore the African peoples and their music. It's not a watch or a listen, it's an experience. My love and appreciation, and best wishes to all you young and radiant beautiful singers!

I first saw this video about three years ago and I still watch it before I go to sleep each night...it just doesn't get boring...gets better each night
I listen to this choir in the background everyday at work, I dont understand most of the lyrics but it brings peace to my spirit

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve listened to this medley. I always come back to listen to songs like these when I feel homesick, because it always reminds me that I am an African, and regardless of the language, I can feel it. If you are an African you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
I have changed my mind this is just not fantastic this is bloody brilliant i have listened to this many many times now and each time it gets better just lov this clip of vide the voices are just outstanding , who ever arranged this well done bloody brilliant

I'm Australian, Stephen Austin, Queensland. This is the best choir, and the best performances I've seen. All singers are very confident of their part. Totally agree with Forney below: We are just the human race, the choir represent all of us. Martin Berger is a great leader, and they all followed him, and the drummer gave a good backing.
Look up the Drakensberg Choir and their 2008 version of Shosholoza - they are incredible.

If the Rainbow Nation legacy of Nelson Mandela lives on anywhere in South Africa, it certainly does in many of
South Africa's institutions today, and maybe especially in its now-more-diverse universities, and most certainly in amazing choirs like this one.
And that is where the legacy must be. These university students are not just wonderful singers, they are creating the culture of a nation. This is their culture. This is their country.
Unbelievable such wonderful music! Don’t understand all lyrics but it does not matter I enjoyed listening.
If I was blind I wouldn't have known that the last lead soprano is Indian/coloured. We only see color with our eyes, the heart is is one. Beautiful music😘😘😘

@@nco5592 the first one was Shosholoza. The second one is mangwane mpulele. Koko Mme motswadi is the third one. Heeh Makoti is third one. Then Shosholoza is repeated. The fourth one is ukholo lwami/ hayo mathata. Number 5 is Modimo wa re sheba.
