she seems to be very codependent, you can see it in the way she always goes to her sister & son for support .🤷🏻♀️ in the case of her therapist he was a man she could depend on emotionally without having to worry about any real commitment and that created romantic feelings towards him. although honestly i feel like even if he was available their relationship would go nowhere. annie doesn't seem ready for a relationship and deep down i'm sure she knows that so she stays single with meaningless hookups to fill her need for companionship.

Annie's character development is nonexistent. Why is Ben under her custody? Why does he have to act as the parent of the household when that is supposed to be Annie's job? I get it...she has issues, but 3 seasons? Where is the development?
Although I like him and they seem to have “spark“ I don’t want them to end up together because Annie has a lot of growing up to do. It’s honestly so annoying how she continuously goes through this unhealthy cycle like I purposely want him to insult her some more in therapy and just wake her up a little bit because Annie is so annoying when it comes to relationships. It’s like she doesn’t even want to try to find genuine happiness.
This is such a Derek, Meredith and Addison love triangle. At the beginning he would choose the girlfriend but later realise Annie is who he wants to be with. If the writers decide to go forward with this love story let it be Annie’s last

I have a feeling he likes her too, but unlike Annie, he remembers that he’s only her therapist, not her love interest. He’s supposed to be helping her. For the past three seasons she’s been with emotionally unavailable men, she goes to therapy for help only to make him question his own relationship because she wants to know why no one wants her? Annie like seriously! She gets mad when Cohen tells her what she needs to hear because she’s avoiding the truth. But instead of owing the truth she sleeps with some random guy or calls up her ex for validation. Ugh 😑
Don't put all this on her. She has alot of stuff to deal with but Cohen should have been a good THERAPIST and a better MAN and referred her to someone else and stood his ground when she came back. But he's in love her and he doesn't want to lose her because she is opposite of everything he and his girl is. She's full of life. And sometimes others take advantage of those kinds of ppl. He is the one in the position of power and if you ask me it's messed up that he's so involved in her life. Why are they in a pub?? Why was he in her house?? He should have established boundaries and stuck to them. But no he wants her in his life but he's scared because she's a wildcard. She he basically strings her along without even realizing it...which he should have because he's a 'therapist'. The attraction and flirting wasn't on her alone. He flirted back. He made her believe that maybe he could have liked her too. But to his rational mind Annie makes no sense as a suitable partner so he fights the way he feels. He should have cut her off but instead he enabled her and inevitably broke her heart.
It's not all on her but we cant deny that there is a pattern and that she is not 100% the "victim" here. I think it's unprofessional and gross for him to be with a client like this. And i think annie is a literal child whose son is constantly taking care of her and is unable to stay away from unavailable men. Which ironically is the reason that she was brought to therapy in the first place 😔 3 seasons and zero character development...

And she kept doing it until it backfired on her and her son found out about it. Her son knows her better than she knows herself! Whenever he tells her something about herself that she needs to hear she’ll just brush it off and think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about because he’s just a child! He knows what he’s talking about because he witnesses her behavior very well. Her therapist had referred her to someone else (who was his girlfriend) and that didn’t work out because the whole time Annie wanted to talk about Cohens relationship with his girl. Whenever therapy looks like it’s getting somewhere, Annie steers the conversation in another direction with humor by telling a bad joke or bringing up a dumb memory that has nothing to do with what needs to be discussed. Annie had seen numerous other therapists, but they were all too weird for her! So she finds herself back to Cohen. She needs to realize that although she’s young, she’s still a mother and needs to take initiative into being a better person to herself. She’s a great mom, but when it comes to life in general...she’s a mess. It’s okay to make mistakes, but Annie has been making the same ones since the first season. It annoys me how she has shown no progression. I really like Annie too she’s funny as hell but her decision making skills are poop 💩
