Marissa Rivera I'm a filipino and a fan of the original Maria la del Barrio and about 'Maldita Lisiada' scene, no, they didn't include that part, the Soraya here was less violent, kinda similar to Esther of Los Ricos tambien Lloran. I was actually disappointed in this version. Initially, they planned to make Soraya similar to Itati Cantoral's portrayal but later changed their mind and tried to add new twist and made Soraya less violent and she even became good at the middle of story.
1veggiemonster it's actually weird, in the Philippine remake of Marimar, they made Angelica Santibañez meaner and more violent than mexican Soraya . It's like the traits of Soraya Monetenegro was applied to Angelica in the Philippine remake of Marimar and she didnt died in fire like in Angelica in mexican marimar but the Angelica in marimar philippine remakw died in more horrible way--she fell from a helicopter and got eaten by crocodiles.

Soraya became good in the middle of the story, it's like Soraya and Agripina were combined in one character here because when Maria had temporary insanity and gave birth on streets, Soraya found her and helped maria to gave birth and Maria gave her baby to soraya because on insanity and Soraya gave the baby to victoria. Victoria in this version was made as the main villain. Victoria kept maria's baby and gave it to fernando and his new wife ( who can't get pregnant) without telling that the baby is actually fernando and maria's. They changed the story a lot in this version.

Yes some spanish words you heared are part of Philippine language. There are lots of Spanish words in Philippine language because Philippines was once colonized by Spaniards for 300 years. About some english words, english is the 2nd language of Filipinos so is it normal to hear some english words in everyday conversation. :)
