- The United States will withdraw its more than 1,000 troops from Niger in the coming months, AFP reported citing U.S. officials speaking on condition of anonymity. The officials said an agreement had been reached in Washington between US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and Niger's Prime Minister, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine.

Is it amazing that it is only military agreements the United states always sign developing or poorer countries. No industrial or economic agreement. In Nigeria they signed or bought land to build if not the biggest embassy in the world worth $500 million. I don't see how that contributes to the economy of that country, but somehow the government was proud of this. When completed that embassy will be filled with special forces, CIA, NSA surveillance team.

US Military and America have nothing to loose, it is important to note that they are the world super power in economy, Military, Technology and command social influence.. so Africa and countries going through hard times should look for ways to solve their own problems soberly and leave out blame cames no angle from so called new partner s. How is alienating the largest economy in the world a good thing. Im pretty sure that the Americans would renegotiate the security deal if Niger found it to be unfair given the current geopolitical environment. Trading democracy for military rule has never lead to greater freedoms and prosperity in human history. You cant force people into democracy (Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam) they have to win it themselves and if they prefer authoritarianism they get what they get.
Did you watch the video? The United States doesn’t have a right to have a military base within the country. If they are not able to squash the terrorists threats then they have no reason to be there.

This needs to be pulled out immediately and they can get it from Russia or China. The only issue will be the massive illegal immigration that will eventually end up at the American southern border from these very nations!!
