- RV Great Smoky Mountain National Park - Cades Cove - Full Time RV Living: The best RV park smoky mountains includes Cades cove Campground, and Honeysuckle meadows rv park. Cades Cove hiking, and biking was awesome. It was our first visit to the Great Smoky Mountains and we had such a great time hiking and biking through the Cades Cove in the Smokies. It is so beautiful here. We were luck enough to run into friends of ours and it made the location even that much more special! We cant wait to return for Fall when the leaves are just dancing with color.

The cabin you were at in Cades Cove Whitehead Cabin was built by my long ago Uncle Henry Whitehead. My GreatGreat Grandfather is buried in Cades Cove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery William Gregory. So cool you were there. Great heritage.
Wow I remember that name at the cemetery! You must be so proud!
Fall is absolutely gorgeous!
I love Cades Cove, that area is one of my all time favorites!
We camped in the Smokies when I was young. Mister Bear came to greet us and get his midnight snack. The lid on the aluminum garbage can went at least fifteen feet in the air when he slap both sides of the can with his paws. You should go to Mammoth cave all beautiful country.
Just saw this, glad you liked our side of the country! GSMNP is our playground and we dry camp in the Park almost weekly!
(We're nearing hiking all the trails in the Smokies!) BTW, Cades Cove loop is closed on Saturdays and Wednesdays dawn till 10 to cars.
We just did a 25 mile hike, in one day!
Wear good shoes, we've seen it all on the trails, ug!
Thanks PK. Great info!!!
This gets me so PUMPED!! Not much longer! CANNOT wait to begin our journey and sure hope to run into you guys! You guys are so fun!
Awesome!! It is amazing out here! You have to come and join the fun.
We're definitely planning on it! Taking a trip this weekend actually to look at one! 🤞 We've been searching for a while and just waiting for "our perfect one"!
@@Missy9798 Good luck! I hope you find the one!
for many yrs. I've visited Pigeon Forge as well as Gatlingburg. Wonderful area & gorgeous in the Fall w/all the colors of the mtns in October. It offers so much. Definitely worth the trip. Watch out for the Bears!! Be safe!
I have been following your Youtub post. My wife and I have vacationed several times in the Smokey Mountains. Cades Cove is an amazing place. There is several areas overlooking large fields, get there very early or just before sunset and you can watch wild life of all kinds. We have been lucky that we have seen Black Bear each time in the park. Like your videos, keep posting.
🤣. I so want a Jeep. Oh no. No bungee for me. We booked at that park but then canceled to book another place with another couple. I hate to hear about graffiti and such at historical and natural Sites. Oh. I’m so excited to see mountains and waterfalls. I’m doing screen shots of the places you are mentioning 🤣 I’m not a fan of escape rooms. My boys are. Glad I have good hiking shoes for the cades cove hikes. We are so excited. We are about to visit the area. It will be our first National Park as RVers. Thanks for showing us what to look for. Alice
Great video! My husband and I absolutely love Gatlinburg
and have been there a few times. We are looking forward to visiting again, only this time staying in our camper, it's the first one we've ever had...and we're hooked. A couple of our favorite things to do in the Smokey Mountains was to go horseback riding in the mountains also the Mountain roller coasters in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were a blast! We've also done the wax museum which is kind of interactive so it's a lot of fun, and we really liked the car museum because George Barris was a friend of mine and we got to see a lot of his car. I've recently discovered your videos, they are fantastic! Thank you so much for taking the time to do them! Safe Travels! Tammy McFeely
Thanks you and welcome aboard. There is so much to see and do in and around Gatlinburg.....we will be back.
We love the Smokies. Went for our honeymoon and been back many time since. Spent this past Christmas with our whole family there. We had a wonderful time.
You can do PSAs every video if there is a need. I really dislike (trying not to use my cuss words here) people who vandalize our public parks, historical sites, etc. I really enjoyed this video and the great beauty of the Smokey Mountains that you captured. It sounds like a two or three week stay may at least begin to scratch the surface of the area. Remember, if the sign says "Danger" just "don't be a Phil".I have never done an escape room but have always been curious. One day when we all meet up we'll have to try one with you guys. Favorite quote of the entire video? Right at the end "Yep, she's all mine!" That's right Phil, she's all yours and don't you forget it 😊
Escape rooms are so fun. We would love to introduce you to them!! I agree a week is just not enough time to explore the Smokies. They are so beautiful. I really want to see them in the fall. Kinda, he knows he is a lucky man. I mean I do remind him every day!😉 Thanks for watch. Hope we can meet up soon.
LOVE CADE'S COVE!
Love Cades Cove. It is one of the jewels in the Smoky’s! We’ve done the hike to Abram’s falls several times. We love it. There is another hike up to Spence Field that is a long awesome hike that we did many years ago. It starts near the visitor center in the campground. It was about 13 miles.
We will have to check out Spence Field the next time we are in the area. Thanks.
I just found you and I’m binging all your videos! So much information and you’re so funny together! I live in Chattanooga and we spend as much time in the Smoky’s as we can. It’s always fun to see it loved and enjoyed by first timers! I laughed at your Chimney Rocks comment about taking a nap. We keep hammocks in our car so we can do just that!!
Welcome!! Glad you found us and can laugh with us!
Another great video. Love to come down that way and check it out. Thanks for your work on giving us these great videos.
We love Cades Cove! Go there also every year!
I love that you share your hikes and waterfalls!
We love doing that so much! It is great exercise!
You all are fun to watch. Hope you are having fun on your rv adventures!
We are having a blast! Thank you so much!
May I suggest the Virginia Creeper Trail if you enjoyed your bike ride through the mountains. It is near Damascus, Virginia. You would love it. The staff is very accommodating and strive to insure you have a wonderful visit. I SO LOVE THE SMOKIES !!!
Thanks for the tip!
Way to go Phil! Haven't seen you since the Midway in 89! So glad you and your wife are retired and living the dream!! ...Scott Votaw
We are living the dream and loving every minute!
Hey guys, enjoyed the video. The GSMNP is my favorite place to vacation and we visit Cade’s Cove on every trip if time permits. Just returned home from a long weekend in Pigeon Forge and ran across your video while planning our next visit there. I subscribed to your channel, looking forward to seeing more trips through your lenses. Again, great video
We loved it there and cant wait to go back! Welcome to the YMRV family and safe travels
One of my favorite National Parks.
We stayed at Panther Creek State Park which is about an hour from Pigeon Forge. Nice campground with some paved full hook-up sites. Highly recommended if you go back to the Great Smoky Mountains again.
I think this is going to be one of our first destinations after we get our Class A. I SO want to go there!
Thanks for giving me a look at what I can expect.
We hardly tipped the iceberg! We can't wait to go back and see more!
So much to see and do in the Great Smoky Mountains. I haven't been there since I was 9 so it's defintely on my list to go back.
The Christerbelle Adventures There is a lot to do!! We will go back as well. Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Cades Cove is my favorite place in Gatlinburg
Glad you enjoyed where I grew up, now get to go back with my camera club in April ….. next time checkout Townsend, less of a tourist trap. Also innertube Deep Creek, and just outside of the park Nantahala whitewater
The best time to see Cade’s cove is in December when deer are out more!
Thanks for taking us along.your editing is getting better.
Thanks! Always trying to improve.
Hi guy's, Just wanted to say that we really enjoy watching your videos and thanks for the tip on Honeysuckle Meadows. My wife and I just spent 4 days there and it was awesome. So much nicer than the crowded parks near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Keep up the great work!!
Awesome! We loved it there.
My dad grew up in a house like that in aTishamingo county Mississippi. My grandma raised 13 kids they were sharecroppers. Hard life, my Dad said that being a Marine was an easy life in comparison. Lmao 😂 I think he was kidding but who knows.
My body lives in TX, but my heart lives in the Smokies.
Love your saying ! My heart is definitely in the Smokies but unfortunately I move back to Florida due to health reasons and to be near family. I Had a beautiful cabin in Gatlinburg and a house in Sevierville near Dollywood. I so miss being there!
I love the Great Smoky Mountains.....Had a cabin up there for years....now buying a Hotel at the dragons end.....come over after March in 2019 ...love you guys
Awesome! When we head back that way we will have to look you guys up!
Love that area. Haven't camped there yet but took a couple mini vacations in the past. We need to go back. Thanks for sharing
I think our next visit will be when the leaves are changing. I bet it is beautiful that time of year! Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Enjoyed the videos, we’ll put that campground on our list. Since your bikers, put this one on your list. Virginia creeper trail. Damascus Va. laurel creek RV park. We’ve been there twice, love it. Go during week, weekends too crowded. And if you go you’ll think the hill getting into campground is too steep (as we did) but we met (made) friends there that had a 42’ class A pusher with a toad and they made it just fine. Again, enjoyed the video (as always).
Abrams Falls is quite a hike in the summer. The day I did it I saw a momma bear with two cubs
Now that is very cool!
We also stayed at Honeysuckle Meadows this past April on our way back from Florida to Wisconsin. Loved Spring in the Smokies. This is being written by Mike on Julie's account. Also a Navy Veteran.
Hey Mike! Thanks for watching. I bet Spring is awesome. It is just such an amazing place. Safe Travels and thank you for your service!
Great video, thanks for sharing! So fun running into old friends isn't it...
Yes, it really is!! We feel so lucky! Thanks for watching and safe travels!
Love the Smokey’s! So glad you are visiting. Now come on North to Kentucky 🤗
We LOVED it! We cant wait to get back there to explore more of that beautiful park.
Good video. Thanks for sharing. Good to see a fellow mustang living the lifestyle. Can't wait for us to hit the road. Cheers!
Thanks!! We are loving our new way of living! Thanks r watching and safe travels! PS thanks for your service.
Your videos keep getting better. Keep up the great work! Great job guys!!
Dean Webster Thanks Dean!! We are trying to learn and grow with each video!!
You should check out Roan Mountain State Park in northeast TN. You will need reservations a year ahead unless coming during winter months (beginning in Nov.) much to do in the area. 5 miles from NC line with much to do there, as well.
Thanks for the tip!
Woohoo you hit 1k subs!
Yes!! Yay. Thanks for the shout out!
I was just up at the Smokies the week before Christmas
We loved it. It bet it was beautiful that time of year.
Great video - love the drone footage and info on the RV park. Would love to visit that area sometime.
Thanks. We hope to go back when the leaves are changing. It would be so beautiful that time of year....and cooler for hiking and biking! Safe travels.
Never pulled it off, but the Smokey’s/Gatlinburg in fall would be amazing!
If you’re still there go down the park toward Cherokee and see the elk. They’re close to visitors center.
We have already left but we will go back. I loved every minute in that park! Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Enjoyed the video, well done. Noticed the Mustang shirt...same here retired Army.
Thank you for your service, Joe! Safe travels.
Do you know if we could (or should) bring our 12lb pet - she travels well in our back pak.
I hiked Laurel falls in october. Beautiful falls!
We loved it there. I bet the leaves were just beautiful! I really want to return when the leaves are changing.
Liked this video. We were just there in June. Definitely a do it again!
We hope to return next year as the leaves are changing. Thanks for watching and safe travels!
You guys are doing great!
Max1492 Thanks!! We are trying to improve! Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Yeah!! I want to visit there too
I think it should be on everyone’s must see list! It really is beautiful. The videos don’t do it justice. I can’t wait to go back when the leaves are changing. Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Thank you for sharing - We are headed to TN at the end of September and planning - Your Vlog certainly helped in our process. Look forward to watching more. Please check us out.
Have fun!
Hey this is my favorite National park but there were no dogs allowed when I was there. has that changed? is your campground dog friendly? enjoy your stay! Im so j.g jealous the trails and the scenery are breathtaking!!
We did not stay inside the national park. We were just outside it and drove in.
Love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.. we didnt camp but we stayed in a cabin which was nice ( Gatlinburg) and the village is great.. we didnt get to much of the history in the area like you did.. we were basically in the tourist area.. did you guys go to Chattanooga? Rock city is pretty cool... i have always wanted to do an escape room!!
Yes, we also dropped down to Chattanooga. We had a great time there as well.
I hope to visit there next spring.
You are gonna LOVE it!! Thanks for watching. Safe travels.
You'all crack me up 😂
Preserve, Preserve, Preserve
Abram"s Creek, hence Abram's Falls.....was named for Chief Abram of the Cherokee Indians...Abrams Creek empties into Chilhowee Lake, which under it's TVA dam waters, was a large Cherokee Indian Village... When they built Chilhowee Dam, they excavated and covered 2 large Indian Mounds.....Most of the artifacts are housed in The McClung Museum in Knoxville.... If you drive along Chilhowee Lake, you are on Highway 129, which will leave the lake and take you up the mountain to NC...and you will drive "The Dragon"...this road contains tailofthedragon.com/how-to-drive/.........has become a world class drive, with riders and drivers from all over the world testing it's curves.....You will go past Calderwood Dam then Cheoah (Or Tapocco) Dam....(Which is now nicknamed "The Fugitive Dam" since it was the spillway that Harrison Ford's character in "The Fugitive" jumped from.. A turnoff, before you get to Cheoah Dam takes you to Fontana Dam.
Awesome! Thanks for the info. I love history. Safe travels
True, and McClung Museum is very interesting to see as well.
been there 2 times camping
Enjoyed video. One of my frustration in the RV is making the bed, not willing to give up top sheet. Can you do a video on it if you figured out a clever way
Oh no! I have to have the top sheet! I am still making it happen sometimes with Phils help. I have been planning a video that I can add it in......although I am thinking it is not so clever! lol
Grade up in December hope it's snow knee deep!!!!!
I dont think I we will go there in December but I would really love to return in fall when the leaves are full of color! Thanks for watching and safe travels.
This is not a vacation place for my wife and I, this is home, lol we have to go other places for vacation !
What a great place to call home!!!
When you come back you should go home Grotto Falls.
We can’t wait to get back and see more of what the Smokies have to offer!! We will add it to the list. Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Great video...chicken chicken...lol
;)
That area is beautiful but very touristy. Try North Ga mountains next time. Oh and don't ever go to the Dawsonville Moonshine Distillery and don't do the tour (*wink wink). You might leave with a couple bottles of real moonshine.
Thats funny because I am actually from Dawsonville!! Although, it has really changed since I left home for the Navy. It was a small town with one blinking caution light. And you are right Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is very touristy but I love the Smokies! Totally worth it to hike and bike in those mountains! (Stacy)
Had relatives in Kentucky and had "Moonshine" at my wedding, almost 49 years ago...
Check out the AllTrails app.
There's graffiti in Salisbury Cathedral in the UK that dates back 800 years. Even back then people were morons.
We are in the area this week and wanted to know what escape room you did? Also, was it kid friendly (my youngest is 6) or is it at least family? We have an 8 and 10 year old also.
We were at Trapped Escape Game in Pigeon Forge: www.trappedescapegame.com/ Our room was the Haunted Cabin which wasnt scary but it was dimly lit. I believe this escape room is kid friendly but not allow kids as young as 6 so always double check before booking. Let us know how you do in the room!
You, Me & the RV, decided on Ripley’s Believe It or Not. We promised the kids one touristy thing but are going to spend most of the week hiking. More bang for our buck with little kids. Probably spent over two hours and it was a tad bit cheaper than the 45-60 min escape room would have been. The weather was crap here today so we got our touristy day out of the way on our first full day. Ready to hit the trails tomorrow!
@@wdh1855 Thats cool! There are escape rooms all over the country so you can do one anytime. I hope the kiddos had a good time. Enjoy your hike tomorrow.
How do you own an escape house?
It was an escape room and it was so much fun. We loved it! But didnt want to run it from the road (I dont really think we could).
@@todayissomeday ~ Ive never been to one, yet, but I am intrigued.
@@redroofretriever It is so much fun! You might say we are addicts. Google escape room in your area, grab some friends and have an hour of fun! It is not scary just full of puzzles, riddles, and locks that you figure out as you go.
Stacy - please have those enlarged areas on your neck checked out.
It is a benign nodule, well 3 actually. Have it checked routinely. Thanks!
With the new technology, when I anyone vandalising historical sites, I video and report them. They're our parks and we need to protect them. Vandalism in National Parks carry hefty fines and can include jail-time. You are not the first ones to find great lunch spots by getting lost. Heard another RVer having the same experience in the same park.
I have found some amazing places by making a wrong turn! Not that I ever get lost! lol. As always thanks for watching and safe travels.
