I just watched the video again and I thought wouldn’t it be fantastic if Tracey wrote her own book about all the nuggets of advice that she’s delivered over the years. Love your videos.
Thank you for the lovely comment and the second round of watching the video. Yes, it would be fantastic if I wrote a book. Believe me, it's been a thought since I was a child. I don't have any lofty goals right now to write that book due to other areas I'm paying attention to, but I hope that fire in my belly shows up later. Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you for sharing what you read Tracy and about your relationship with books. I consider myself a reader (always have been) but how and what I “consume” has evolved to include audiobooks as I, like you have many active roles and limited valuable time to read/listen so multitasking listening during dog walks, cardio or in car works out well for me (I usually have a physical copy of the book too) Goalwise I try to read the books for my friends and library book discussions which I mostly enjoy for different reasons but I struggle to find the time for the other books I’d like to read (personal growth, health, spiritual reading material) I have several friends who read many more books than I do but I DO NOT aspire to be like them. I value my active roles (even though they afford me little “free” time) and wouldn’t trade places with any of them. By the way, I read and loved When Breath Becomes Air years ago and recently gifted it to my daughter’s med school boyfriend. You’ve inspired me to revisit it so I just downloaded the audiobook. I also bought the other 2 books you recommended. So grateful for all of your valuable, relevant, helpful content.
Hello Katherine. Thank you for the lovely comment and support and for sharing your reading system. I like the idea of having the physical book and also using the audiobook. This method may be something I consider. Haley has mentioned a similar approach to lessen my reading anxiety. Yes, that’s a thing in my world. Lol I have no aspirations to read many books, at least this year, because, like you, there are other areas of priority right now. My ‘daily’ reads (+ notecard nuggets) take time, and I’ve had to learn to recognize that as such. Considering I may only read a handful of books this year besides my daily reads, I am very discerning of my chosen books. I do not desire to read nonfiction in an area where I excel or am thriving. My policy is only to ‘Read Books that solve my problems. Don't read books about the problems other people have.’ I emphasized this because it is written on one of my notecards. Enjoy the revisit to ‘When Breath Becomes Air.’ Have a lovely weekend.
I use a Joyce Meyer devotional book. It's called Starting Your Day Right and, if you flip the book over, you have Ending Your Day Right. 365 days. Reading it is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do before bed. It helps me so much. I'm going to read Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart. It sounds wonderful. xo~linda
Thank you for sharing, Linda! I have read and done studies using Joyce Meyer's books. It sounds like a wonderful devotional, and you've created a good routine for reading the daily entries.
I love watching your stories on Instagram too. I look for them daily and enjoy your spirit❤️ Have a blessed New Year! Thanks again for sharing this video.
After watching Haley’s video on your channel recently about how she reads so many books, I have since finished 9 books since December 1. So inspiring! Just wanted to share how awesome that video was. I read When Breath Becomes Air and really enjoyed it also! A great read! Thanks for another awesome video and have a great weekend
Thank you for the positive feedback on Haley's video! I found it inspiring and helpful, as well. Congratulations on the reading success for December. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the book ‘When Breath Becomes Air.'
I'll be definitely adding the Too Soon book to my list! I am also reading Secrets of the Secret Place that you recommend also. I read the Breath book when it came out and it's a never to forget read. My husband and I still say "bone saw"! with disdain and a chuckle as you'd never want to encounter such a procedure 😵💫 happy new year Tracy and looking forward to all that you'll have to share 💜
Happy New Year, Laura. Thank you for sharing that you look forward to my sharing. Agreed on the 'bone saw'. How funny that you and your husband remember that part of the book after all these years. After reading it, you'll have to keep me posted on your thoughts on the book 'Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart.'
When breath becomes air broke my heart and made me grieve for a man and a family I had never met. I agree wholeheartedly with you daughter, everyone should read that book. So I will also buy and read your other two recommendations: Daily Laws and Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing. I, too, grieved for Paul and his family. The memoir encouraged me to look at my purpose and my mortality from a different lens. I hope you enjoy the books. 'The Daily Laws' book is not for everyone, but 'Too Soon Old, Too Soon Late' is, in my opinion, for everyone. Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you Tracy. I have been watching you for years.. Your videos are so informative and extremely helpful. Keep them coming.
Thank you Tracy!. You are such a blessing!
I’ll be supporting them in my sleep - loved that, and I’ll be using that with hubby going forward when I want to go to bed early.
