who tf uses shims at 600hp? no way. they crack even at 300hp stock figures (sometimes and yes without shims). also you can see his block has a crack already, he shows it at the start
@@tomiracetech You should use forged pistons and rods , 450hp about limited for RS pistons , that's why most over 420hp will recommend forged engine in UK
Hows this engine going?. Im getting all parts to do a engine rebuild but first thing im looking at is rods as keep reading they are a week point. for its low cost compared to a sleeved etc full engine build I thought it would just be installed as extra precaution. Mainly bend if low RPM boost is too high or hard launches high boost. I cant find a good solid answer how strong the standard rods are :) only that the engines are forged at factory.

its called a windage tray... it basically ensures the oil that's going to the oil pickup tube doesn't get much air mixed into it so it doesn't froth up when it gets sucked into the pump. You want to pump oil, not air. So yes, you should keep it.

Tuleje robie sam według swojego projektu ponieważ nie ma w handlu odpowidnio mocnych tulei. Tloki z rs-a albo kute, ale robilem również projekty na tlokach z innych marek np audi itp. Co do miski nigdy tego nie robiłem i nie wiem na czym dokladnie poglega modyfikacja. Musiał bym to mieć w rekach to wtedy będę w stanie ocenić czy moge to wykonać. Akurat silnika 2.3 jeszcze nie robilem.
Thats the volvo gasket seal (part number 1161059) its the correct OEM gasket material that is supplied from the factory for the cam cover and intermediate crank block.

Na tłokach i korbach z rs bez najmniejszego problemu. Na seryjnych tłokach i korbach 400KM można zrobić jak program jest dobrze zrobiony, a wał znosi o wiele wiele więcej 💪

Could a block that was just shimmed make it to 450 with supporting mods, or would I need to do what you did to the block and sleeve it or whatever else you've done?

Isn't sleeves a bit overkill for 450 hp, when there's 600hp setups with shims that run day after day at the dragstrip?

You will bend the stock rods with even minor detentions above 350 hp. Been there done that. Get some forged china specials.
but these are RSmk2 / S60R conrods
these are not stock connecting rods. the pistons and connecting rods come from the focus RS engine
@@tomiracetech even then. They are very susceptible to dets. Did you get the glyco sputter rod bearings ? They handle detonation a lot better
The RS rods can hold over 400 hp with no problem. Do you want real rods forget China and get ZRP rods.

Na tłokach i korbach z rs bez najmniejszego problemu. Na seryjnych tłokach i korbach 400KM można zrobić jak program jest dobrze zrobiony, a wał znosi o wiele wiele więcej 💪
