No, he’s undersized, I wouldn’t pay that amount for no lineman. I trust the FSU staff with selecting the right type of player rather than chasing the star classification.
Charlie Ward, Warrick Dunn, Dion Sanders, Peter Warrick, ron simmons, Peter Boulware, Clay Shiver, Derrick Brooks. Probably the only players in Seminole history that are worth that amount and more.
@@tylerlaird9543I like those picks, I see your side with the new blood, out of those picks I'd say in my opinion jameis would be the only one I'd pay that kind of money for. The fisher regime built a team around him. Derwin, dalvin, were great don't get me wrong. But I wouldn't shell out the big bucks and sacrifice other key positions. I totally respect your picks though. Go noles!
I would pay David Sanders Jr. that amount. As he may be able to rotate in now! Look what Tennessee is paying that kid. Heck, they got the number one QB in like 3 of the last 4 classes! Crazy. Who doing their deal closings!
When I first saw his weight, I thought it was a typo. He's very athletic, I wouldn't be surprised if he's eventually moved to linebacker or defensive end.
I don't know about position caps and doubt they would wanna do that, but they absolutely need to collectively rule on a cap for class or a freshman class salary cap. The problem is CFB are their own worst enemy. It's every conference then every man for themselves.
@@RefugiodePasaportesI don't necessarily agree with position caps but why would that be illegal? There are no regulations surrounding n i l at this point. I don't think that would be illegal until the players unionize and actually become employees. But again I don't agree with it.
@@jamesb0255 Capping pay is illegal in America unless you get a waiver like the NFL. Presidents and universities don't want to unionize or they would have taken steps to do it already.
i read somewhere that he wrestles in the 280+ range so its not as big of a deal as jeff is trying to make it, if that is the case. not sure why he’d bulk for wrestling and cut it for football tho
No player should get any deal until after their first year of playing college after youve proved yourself and to stop the recruiting who has more money crap
My only problem is where was all these critiques when we thought we had the kid locked in?... now hes a "bordeline" 5 star, light weight, etc. Yea he's probably not worth that kind of money, but lets wish him luck and just leave it at that.
High value positions like quarterback, defensive end and offensive tackle are always going to require a premium payment for a top ranked high school recruit. For the most part those elite players in college do not enter the portal. There was no Caleb Williams, Jared Verse, or Amarius Mims in the portal and most years there won’t be. If you want these guys you have to recruit them out of high school and develop them. It’s going to cost a lot of $$$ to do this
Stop lying to your fans. Fsu offered 750K, Ohio state offered 900K, and GT offered 450K. No one wants to go to fsu🤣 Alex Atkins hasn’t developed any nfl o-lineman
Time for NFL development league. Make the kids sign two year contracts Get rid of the portal and NIL. Benjamin’s are the driving force right now. College football tradition means nothing to these athletes.
Are you comparing a Jeep to a human being? Who are you to decide what another man's pay should be ? That's between Petty and GT. GT put an offer on the table and he accepted it. Maybe they gave FSU a chance to match and they didn't. That's business. As far as ROI he hasn't played a snap for them. He may go down as the greatest OL in GT history then he would've been underpaid. So it works both ways
Would you have dropped 800k a year for Petty?
Not hell but hell no
Not no but hell no
No way he's unproven. Does this mean that he lives up to his last name?
No, he’s undersized, I wouldn’t pay that amount for no lineman. I trust the FSU staff with selecting the right type of player rather than chasing the star classification.
Nah ... you drop that on a Kayden proctor type. A day one starter not someone that needs 2/3 years of body development
We'll take him in 2 years when he's ready to play.

Andre Wadsworth??
You’re old school and I can appreciate that but Jameis, Dalvin, Derwin, Ramsey are four others I’d throw in there
Supply and demand my friend. If a school is desperate enough to overspend then that's on them.
Im on the fence with wad, Buckley and even op shade tree. They were great players, yes. But i cant say id build a team around him. @jeffward1955

Man we have running backs that size in south Georgia and I believe we have one close to that at FSU now 😂
Definitely a quarterback! 😂

1000% agree.
They're paying 1.6 million for him to sit on the bench.
no lol. He will start year 1.
They need to have a cap for each position!!!

Arch Manning is getting 3 plus Mil a year and probably won't start til his 3rd Year... Talk about CRAZY...
5* from where?
Petty is like Josh Farmer, 50-60 pounds under weight! It took Farmer 2-3 years to bulk up and it will be the same with Petty!!
If FSU pays a proven 5* junior or senior offensive lineman transfer then yes, but paying that much right out of high school, Hell no!
Hell no!!!!
NO!
Out of control
Insanity!!!!
Thats not high school lineman money…. You drop that on a proven playmaker.
No chance
The kid is not a 5 star to me. 5 stars are ready to start day 1 and this kid obviously isnt ready to do that.

He will get his first paycheck then hit the portal. He will end up at FSU for pennies
For that money he's getting all 260 lbs of his behind on the field. 😂
Hopefully GT won’t play him before he’s ready. If so, he may not even make it to the NFL.
