I live in (Northern) California and I can't watch footage of these fires. When I lived in the SF Bay Area I was evacuated 5 times in 4 years and I have accumulated trauma from it. I 🙏 that these fires are put out soon and the people who survived can start the healing process. 🙏 for all of the animals at risk, too. All of us owe a huge debt to firefighters and other fist responders. I'm glad Rob's family is safe.
I hope lots of lessons will be learned from this. It seems to have caught people unaware. Was it arson?
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone I am choosing not to follow the news on this story -- it is just too hard. But at one point I heard someone talking about arson. The winds are crazy in southern California and when I talked to Josh at The Local Pundit, he told me they haven't had any rain this fall/winter -- I would say climate change has a part in this. The electric company was found negligent in not maintaining equipment that led to horrendous wildfires in northern California recently -- there could be several contributing factors. Whatever the cause, it is horrific.😢
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone The problem is that the lessons were not learned from the last round of wildfires by the state politicians and others. Also yes several people have been arrested and are facing arson charges.
@@doberski6855 exactly state leadership caused this issue,
You'd have to be really sick or evil to start fires like this.
Thanks for bringing the latest news first.
Thanks
An update (forgot to mention it Saturday) just because the video clip went viral: on Tuesday, first day of the fires, when an LAFD dozer had to clear a lane of abandoned cars out of the way, for the fire trucks, as people tried to escape Pacific Palisades. A reporter, when able to, revisited the spot over the weekend. The crushed and pushed over cars ended up all burning. The unmoved cars in the next lane survived in perfect condition. The irony!!!
I imagine there is going to be a movie made of this. Are the fires still burning? The last I read there was hurricane force wind coming in which might reignite some. I saw the cars queuing to get out and then people abandoned them.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone - all the fires are still only between 14-20% contained. So during this lull of lower winds, firemen have taken the time to do things to mitigate the situation of the fires before the winds resume, now the wee hours of Tuesday through Wednesday when the winds will be 40-75MPH. Police have been very busy arresting looters who are getting into homes still standing while homeowners cannot yet visit. BTW: currently there are 5,300 firemen on duty - including from Canada, Mexico and several states.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone - A few years down the line but it will be a documentary movie to show the world how bad it was which would work better. Though with the RE crash, there was both which is feasible. A movie of this would be expensive whether CGI (and now AI cheaper?) or miniature model building or combination of all three.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone many good prayers to you and your family denysedubois
I'm a few states over and have family and friends there. All are okay, but lost everything. My heart goes out to everyone there.
People can say it's climate change, I don't buy ti, but this could have been avoided in terms of scale. However, the state's policies and lack of adults in leadership caused this mess. The Gov. was warned it would happen if they didn't maintain it properly. We are already getting reports people have filed lawsuits against the power company, but they really need to take aim at the state, more so for the lack of preparedness and drained the reservoir.
I don't know everything that is going on but it seems much more than climate change to me. I know the fire bosses are criticising the government there for cutting funding.
The devastation and the loss of life has been tragic. As for Reynolds and Lively situation, staying out of that lawsuit conversation as much as possible. Did you see the report about the idiot with a drone who put a fire fighting aircraft out of service? Hope they catch that person and charge him like they are the arsonists!
Yes I was shown that and was really surprised someone would be so stupid. I am thinking it could be the press sending up a drone?
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone - yes and that super scooper plane and a few others are from Canada - the many ways they are helping out. When showing the hole, you see the word Quebec and the provincial flag. A fire chief, a while ago on KTLA, had an update presser, and mentioned that plane and said “our plane will be ready to…”. Poor guy, sleep deprived no less, has no idea or forgot they are Canadian planes.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone Not sure how the investigation is going, but the speculation, is it was someone collecting video to sell to news stations or someone trying to see where the fire was in relation to their property.
Well whatever it was they are in big trouble. Do the drones over there have to be labelled, did they even find the drone? My drone has my operator ID on and flyer ID at all times.
its like the great london fire of 1666
It really is horrific and the thoughts of insurance companies not paying out is beyond scandalous.
