Thanks for this amazing tutorial - day 5 with my uke and I've almost got it down!! Looking forward to mastering this and moving onto another TenThumbs tutorial! You make learning so fun, great song choices & great instruction! 😊

If you go to tenthumbspro.com and click Ukulele we listed all our songs alphabetically by artist making it easier for you to find the songs you want to learn. Let us know if you have any questions and welcome to the Ukulele family!
Hi Tyler! I’ve been watching you for 11 months now and you always help me learn new songs. Just came by to say thanks! (And learn how to play banana pancakes lol)
You sir have just received a subscriber!! This was awesome! Wanted to learn this for a LONG time and this is by far the easiest to understand. Keep up the solid work! It's really helpful!
This is so awesome and thourough! I've been practicing it for 2 days after I get off work and already have the intro through the chorus down! Just have to get a little better a chucking and it will sound nice. Thanks for the tutorial, great job!!!
Mikey BigBass That is fantastic to hear. For the more complicated songs we try really hard to be thorough and complete, happy that it feels that way. For the easy songs, too, for that matter. Happy it helped you, where are you learning from? That is my favorite part of doing these videos to see people learning from all over the world.
TenThumbs Productions I'm located in Florida. Started playing about a year ago, but never really picked up my ukulele and sat down and practiced as much as I have since I found this tutorial. Because it was done so well I wrote all the chords out on a notepad and keep pausing the video and replaying the different parts to try to get the exact same rhythm as you. It's going really well, so thank you again! I'm going to check out your other videos, but before I get carried away trying to learn too many songs at once I'll be sticking with this!
Mikey BigBass Alright man, that is excellent to hear. We got some Lynyrd Skynyrd on there if you are looking for some home town guys, on the channel there is a section that is all the songs we have done up to this date, but the videos are getting better every week so keep your eyes peeled and we have some cool stuff on the horizon. Thanks for watching man, I lived in Ft. Pierce for awhile, too, so I have a lot of love for my Ukulele Fam down there.
TenThumbs Productions I love Skynyrd, and I actually live in Fellsmere so I'm only 25 minutes north of Ft. Pierce! That's really cool and I'm glad to see people from around here playing the ukulele! Hardly anyone knows what it is when I bring it places with me.
I've ran into similar issues, but sometimes it's fun because you can play the Ukulele for someone who has never seen it, and that is really cool. I have found a network of people, ukulele groups, master classes, all kinds of cool stuff on the Internet as well, I'm sure with an a relatively easy driving distance there is some kind of club over there on the Atlantic Coast of Mid Florida.
Wow Daniel, that is very high praise. Thank you for the kind words. I will continue to do my best to provide more solid work. Hopefully some of the other videos we have can help you out, too. Thanks and keep on making music! It makes the world go round.
Thank you so much I got my first ukulele an learned a few basics jumped right into this song spending many days on just little pieces but it’s all starting to come together so nicely
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that and I am very happy that we were able to help you learn this really fun song. Stay tuned, more big things on the way!
I certainly haven't watched every vid, but I've just come back to this one and it's quite possibly my favourite... If not this, then The Wind Cries Mary one for sure... Big thanks as always!
I have been learning ukelele, started just a few days ago, and all ready can play a lot thanks to your videos. Thank you very much!! Could you do Jack Johnson's song Breakdown??? Love that song Regards from Chile!
mqdesigner This is a tricky tune for sure. There are a lot of moving pieces, but I am happy to hear that you are getting with some work. Good luck moving forward man.
Thanks Matt, hopefully we can have some stuff coming your way that will help you out along the learning process, too. We try to do a song every Wednesday and Saturday so keep an out for them. Thanks again for watching man.
ha! Thank you so much man. We put a lot of work into it to make sure that everybody could learn it as easily as possible. Good to hear that it worked! Thanks again for the compliment.
hahahah thanks for the motivation!! However, sadly I think its gonna take me some time to get a hang of the whole thing. Still, your tutorial has helped me a lot so keep doing your thing :)
I love your tutorials best out of the ukulele tutorials I've found online. They're the most thorough and clear :) It would be awesome if you sang along to some of them too! Could you do a tutorial for No Rain by Blind Melon? That's one of my favorite songs.
Thank you for the kind words Amy. Someday I will sing a long with some of the songs, but my vocal range is pretty limited so the selection will be limited! I am very happy that you find our lessons both thorough and clear, we think that with those two elements any can learn giving a little bit of time and dedication. No Rain by Blind Melon has been put on the list :) Heads up the list is growing but we will see what we can do.
Hey, Tyler, I just wanted to say thanks for your videos. I don’t anything about playing any instruments, but this song is one of my favorites, and my goal is to learn it. I like your Lego method. Any Jackson Browne songs up your sleeve?
holy fuck. been sitting here watching this habitually and I finally realized it's PLUCK up mute. not strum. now it actually sounds right. yo Tyler if u read this, any videos of u with a tenor uke? im a sad sorry bastard and prefer to play songs that can reflect that, the concert just isn't low enough.
What's up James. I wish I had some with a Tenor Ukulele man, that concert is the only Ukulele I own. Next time I return to the United States I plan on buying a Tenor, but unfortunately that won't be until July of next year at the earliest man. The good news is that the Tenor is the same tuning as the concert, so you can just learn this videos and play them on your Tenor, do you have a low G string on the tenor or high?
i dont have a low or high because i dont have a tenor either lol but i'd like to get one and throw the low g on it for the deeper, fuller, more guitar-like sound.
Yeah, I would too, to have them both anyways. Especially when I go to jam with some guitars or something and we are playing some blues, that low G would be excellent. Cheers and thanks for watching man.
Hi Tyler I have the same problem as Alena , when I get to the Play along section at the end of the tutorial what would really help a lot is instead of having just the words verse chorus mini brige etc on screen if you could superimpose the same format as at aprox. 6.20 in the video, Verse plus chords on screen then chorus plus chords etc. would make it so much easier to play along at the end . Thanks for a great lesson.
Hey sheppy, you know that was my original intent and I did it but you couldn't see me anymore all the letters made the screen look like a New York subway car in the late 80s. I think while it takes a little longer to commit them to memory it is worth the extra effort to really get it in your brain. Check that link out that I wrote in Alena's description if you need a little extra help. Keep on with it and you will get it faster than you think. Thanks for watching, thanks for the feedback, it all helps, and I will try to think of a way to better incorporate those pieces to learn easy in future lessons. Have a great day and look forward to hearing from you about your progress soon!
First i want to say you seem like such a great guy and (and an amazing teacher) I would look forward to meeting you one day. Something I was going to say though is you already put all the chords on the screen, why not give us a tabs sheet? I'm sure it would help me out tremendously because when I see something on paper it just seems to connect better. thank you though for the effort you put into all these videos. Have a great one. :)
Taen Tab sheet is something I considered, but I am not quite sure about the legality, I would love to have PDFs for all these jams, so you could print them out and really rock, and it is something that we still might do, I just need to know how that would work legally. Thanks for the input, and if you are anyone reading this knows, I sure would love to hear it. Where are you located? We are planning to take Tenthumbs on the road in the next year and a half or so, maybe we can jam!
Another great song and a great lesson. Thanks for sharing Tyler! Your take on the tune always seems to be the best out there! I always come back to your tutorials after comparing countless others. Keep 'em comin'! :)
Hey that is a great compliment, thank you so much for the kind feedback. We do our best to make sure we cover all the details so no stone is unturned and no note is unplayed. I promise we will keep them coming if you keep on watching.
that strum pattern omg making me so mad!!! i can't seem to get the small up after P-U-X but it sounds so much better, can't keep the rhythm for the life of me
+shelbyalyssam We did a video just on this strum pattern, maybe it will help. With that extra up don't even try to strum it as so much as let your hand make contact on the way back up. Cheers and let me know if you need more help Shelby. ua-cam.com/video/3oxT9zPVgRo/v-deo.html
11:40, ok is it supposed to be Am or Em bc you played Em and said Am and also Am7 it looks like you're playing a chord but its just all open strings isnt it?
My pleasure Rafael, thanks for the kind feedback man. If you are Jack Johnson fan we just got done breaking down Better Together, too, note by note. Keep on jamming my man and thanks for watching.
I agree. He plays beautifully without the words. But I'd like to hear the song sang with him playing; add lyrics at the bottom of tutorial to play and sing a long would help
Hey Tyler, great tutorial for a great music! Do you think you could add in thi video and future tutorials a quick link at the beggining for each of the parts you teach including the playalong? In this way if I am only training the 2nd chorus I could just click a link or a time frame and I would be instantly there... Maybe put it on the description? Thanks man keep up the good work, I appreciate it!
Cheers, great idea. It is something we do for our new videos but I should do it with this video for sure because it has soooo many pieces. Thanks for the kind words.
Awesome video. This really is the best tutorial I've seen. I'm surprised I got the introduction down (thanks to the fabulous teaching), but the strumming pattern feels weird for me.. I cant seem to pluck the first string as I change chords and I would end up strumming instead of plucking.. any tips?
It's an advance and complicated song for Uke beginners. Don't do this song if you're a beginner. Take it from me,...a beginner..lol...but now that I have several beginners songs under my belt...Im learning this quite well. I Started with 3 little birds by Bob Marley, some where over the rainbow, my girl, and I'm yours...Jason Mraz. I watch his tutorial and Cynthia Lins
Hi! I love your tutorials. I was wondering if you could make one for Jack Johnson's song "Seasick Dream." I am a beginner on the ukulele but would love to learn this song at some point. Thanks!
Thank you for watching Giova, happy to hear that it helped. Check out tenthumbspro.com and under the Ukulele section we have all the songs that we have done (around 70 as of the 1st of January, 2015) so you we can keep rocking to your favorite music!
TenThumbs Productions for sure! I bought my ukulele some days ago and it's just the first song I learned, so I will have to spend a lot of time with your tutorials! you are a really good teacher! Thanks a lot, happy new year!
Thanks a lot to you for watching and the kind words. I really enjoy teaching and I am happy that people out there enjoying learning! Happy new year to you too and welcome to the TenThumbs family man.
thank youuu! :) can you please do a theme music relates to mexican, spanish or french? it doesn't have to be songs, just an example of each on how different they all are!
snow maleficent I live in Colombia and I speak spanish, we are looking to expand to some of these styles, salsa, bambuko, son, and some others. French might be hard for me though! Thanks for the kind words
This is a fantastic tutorial! I'm going to start practising right now. Do you take suggestions for other tutorials? If you do, could you make one for On the front porch by Burl Ives? Thanks for everything! :-)
chophy Yeah we do take requests. The list is slightly backed up but you can always tell us what you want to learn. Thank you for watching and interacting. Happy to hear that we have helped you out along your journey.
So i have to say you have my favorite Ukelele lessons on thw tube that ive seen. Good vibes! Just got mine so im still in the beginning stages. But in this video your tattoo on your left arm caught my attention. What is it? Sorry kinda random lol other than music i love tattoos too haha
Hello first awesome tutorial i am kinda used to the ukulele but i found it really easy to follow it sounds awesome put together ^^ and second i have a random question i have a ukulele its mid range its from alvarez and its a concert size i really like the sound but to me it sounds better when i tune it half a step up so its like G# etc is it bad for the ukulele ? because the strings feel tigther of course and im kinda concerned that the bridge is gonna be under so much pressure it with start to peel of it happened in one of my older ukes it was a mahalo but still... thanks! :D
+herda herd Great question. A half step shouldn't be much of a problem if you tune it up, more than that and you want to be a little careful. Usually alternate tunings are tuned down, but I wouldn't worry about going up a half step. Thanks for the kind words and the feedback Herda, really cool to hear that you got the song so easily. Mahalo!
I love your tutorials bro but do you have any advice on increasing the volume while finger picking. I have the song down pretty well but it feels too quiet.
Do you think you could put all of the chords into sections to look at? I can play all of it I just have trouble remembering what order chords go with the sections
Hey Alena, I don't really know where I would post the chords on the channel but here is a link though that should serve as a really good reference to help you remember where everything is at. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/j/jack_johnson/banana_pancakes_ver4_crd.htm Let me know if that helps and thanks for watching. Have a lovely day!
during the second riff of the intro how are you doing the strum at the end? are you making the c6 chord and muting on the down strum and playing the c6 on the up strum? ^i hope that makes sense Thanks for the tutorials!!
+Pattyo O Hey Pattyo! All requests are welcome but no guaranteed, we get some many and I sincerely wish I could do them all. I write them all down on a paper but the list grows faster than I have time to do videos :( Hopefully we can make it happen for you though.
Thanks for a great tutorial i'm just getting the hang of it, one question when you play the mini bridge at the end of the whole song does it go Am7 x 4 then G7 x4 twice then finish or am i missing something?
Could someone clarify which fingers are being used for the riffs? Is it the 3rd finger (ring finger) for all of them on the E string or do you switch with 2nd finger (middle finger)?
I haven't actually put a PDF together for this one, because the PDF for Patreons happened about a year after this, but I can put one together and when I do I'll let ya know.
+Julio Ramírez Soto My Ukulele is made by the company Luna, the series is High Tide and the size is concert. I think a good first Ukulele is a concert size, versatile but still feels very much like an Ukulele. As far as what specific one, I would recommend buying one that you can play first at a local store, going, picking them up and falling in love. Go in with a clear budget so you don't go crazy (like grocery shopping hungry). Anything around 150 dollars is going to be really good and give you a lot of happiness, you don't want to buy to cheap because they don't quite hold a tune as well and don't have the same sound quality. Hope that helps Julio! I love mine for what it is worth as well.
Hey Tyler first off I want to thank you for the tutorial. I'm trying to master the song aka play and sing it at the same time but the intro is throwing me off. More specifically ik here you open up with four riffs, so my question is do I play the Riff 1, 2, 3, and 2 and again start over with riff 1 and 2 for the first two lines of the song or r the first 2 lines sung over Riff 3&2?
I was an English as a second language teacher for 7 years! I mostly stressed verbal communication in my classroom, hahaha. I wish I had your power, but my mind still just doesn't even see the mistakes.
I have a question. But First i have to say sry for my Bad english :) Wenn u make the Sturmming u always play g String then up then chuck and then a string. Do i have to play the a String After a chuck?
No, you can end the chord on the chuck and it sounds perfect and than you can play the G-String for the first note of the next chord. Your English is excellent, where are you from?
Thanks for this great tutorial! Great job.

Nice 😄
+ricrc the greatest success that i've had was by following the Arthurs Uke Blog (just google it) definately the most useful method that I have ever followed.
God bless, this comment made me actually able to learn! 😁
much appreciated, kind stranger!
You should add more Jack Johnson songs. Like "Do You Remember", "Constellations", "Sitting, Waiting. Wishing", "Breakdown", and "Traffic in the Sky". That would be awesome, those are great songs.

Here's my story: A Beginners Tale.
I'm new to the playing music world, and at 44 yrs old, I bought my first Uke the middle of February, and thought, "oh, Banana Pancakes is a quaint little ditty to begin learning the uke with, yep, I'll get right on that". ....Oy!

I've yet to master the speed needed to transition in and out of the riffs to play along with the song though, rather frustrating. Still, I have no words for the pleasure this little uke has brought me already.
Last week however, Game Changer: I came across this channel, and, daaaamn.... bud, you have super charged my ambitions. I intended it as a quirky little hobby, just to be able to kinda, sorta, be able to play along with some songs I like.... now, between this and getting hooked on your bad ass awesome Blues tutorials...oh dear, I have a serious addiction brewing... and I can' t say THAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUUUU! enough.
Two Thumbs Up from this chick, Ten Thumbs. :)
So, I've been rockin' the Banana Pancakes, thinking, yep, got the strum nailed down, I'm just killin' this!!!! You go, girl!.... or, so I thought. Then, I stumbled on your 'Jack Johnson Strum Pattern' video, with that cursed little up pick on the A string, which, really does add a special touch to the overall sound of the tune, BUT,
Oh.
Sweet.
Mother.
Of.
Mercy.
Just take me now.
I spent five, F I V E - full hours trying to copy your hand position and movement. Over and over and over and over, and just, NOPE.
Not. Happening. ........however, 'never the less, she persisted'...... and, here I am again today. :)
I quit trying 'your shape' and tried every other possible position. I can hit the: pick G, UX, or, hit the UX, up pick A, or even the A pick/G pic, but damn if I can nail the three together, and keep time. sigh....
I have sat on my ass this weekend and done literally NOTHING else but strum the hell out of this song. I didn't even eat yesterday because I was going to do it later, but 'later' kept coming and I was still sat on my ass, eyeballs glazing over, just, pick, UX, pick pick, UX, pick pick, UX, pick pick.... For 15 hours this weekend. And that's just the straight practice time, not including the times I'd fling the strap off my neck, throw my uke on the sofa in utter contempt, get up and storm off, cursing a blue streak a mile long, vowing to take the damn thing and heave it in the middle of the street, only to find myself doing a u-turn mid storm-off, and saying, Fine! FFS.... one more go, but that's it I'm done with this bs! and, yadda yadda, another hour or two has passed. - *Note: this is coming from someone who doesn't even own a tv because I don't sit down long enough to watch anything.
So, all that being said. I'm almost there. ALMOST. but, I'm "this" close now. (and btw, in the end, with almost your exact shape and movement after all. lol ) I can FINALLY do the strum and maintain the beat following you during the play-thru. (no chording during this strum yet still) but, I find it exhausting by about 3/4 thru the song and I start to mess up because my forearm is begging for mercy. anyway, I'm getting this. And, I'm loving this.
Good times. Right? oh, yeah, BUT THEN:
Then, around 2am last night, on approximately the 847, 362 time I hit replay on this tutorial, 12:02 on the video to be precise.... it was then, then for the first time I noticed you drop your thumb to pick the C string for two measures in the middle of long bridge- without shaving even a hair off the beat. Yep. That moment when....:
My literal will to live was beaten figuratively, yet, mercilessly by a Ukulele. Um, are you even insured for that??? ;)
Can't wait to finally master this song so I can move on and you can destroy me with your Blues tutorials!
Cheers!
B.
Did you master it? xD
Hey Taylor, thank you so much for your great tutorials! here why they are really the bests:
- you break a song down in smaller parts, which are easier to remember, learn and repeat

This tutorial is one of the best that I have ever seen 🙌🏾
Thank you so very much! Happy I could help you out.

Hi. This video is the best tutorial I've searched. Thank you for sharing it with us!
+Juri Okano Thank you so much for that extremely kind words!
I have found myself coming back to watch this video many times. Thank you for making this excellent video.
Hi Tyler! I’ve been watching you for 11 months now and you always help me learn new songs. Just came by to say thanks! (And learn how to play banana pancakes lol)
HonestlyIdkシ awesome to hear! Thanks for watching!
You sir have just received a subscriber!! This was awesome! Wanted to learn this for a LONG time and this is by far the easiest to understand. Keep up the solid work! It's really helpful!
+Mason Hastings Hope you are still enjoying our videos! Thanks for the kind words!
I have found a network of people, ukulele groups, master classes, all kinds of cool stuff on the Internet as well, I'm sure with an a relatively easy driving distance there is some kind of club over there on the Atlantic Coast of Mid Florida.
oh man!! this one is really good!!
thank you sooooo much!
really makes it fun to play the ukulele!
That is the idea!
I've searched and seen so many different ukulele sites and tutorials how am I just finding you! Love it
ash bog welcome to the Tenthumbs vibe! Keep it learning!
One of the clearest and best vids on UA-cam - solid work!
Best tutorial video I've ever watched ! Lots of love from the UK!
Cheers.
after so many years this is still a great tutorial...and I do like banana pancakes
Frobozz Dingle thanks! This was around the time I started to really get good at it. There are some lessons from before this that could use some love.
You're a reeaaaally good teacher, like really!! Thank you so much for this !!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that and I am very happy that we were able to help you learn this really fun song. Stay tuned, more big things on the way!
TenThumbs Productions
You're welcome! I know this is a cliché of a request but can you do a tutorial on some of Arctic Monkeys's songs?
I would love to add them to our request list. Thank you again for watching and for asking.
Very chalenging for me. Most satisfying song i played till now.
I certainly haven't watched every vid, but I've just come back to this one and it's quite possibly my favourite... If not this, then The Wind Cries Mary one for sure... Big thanks as always!
Thank you!🙏 This helped me a lot. This song is so good
Greetings from
I have been learning ukelele, started just a few days ago, and all ready can play a lot thanks to your videos. Thank you very much!!
Could you do Jack Johnson's song Breakdown??? Love that song

Breakdown would be great.
I love your tutorials! Great job!!
+C-Productions Thank you so much.

Happy to help Andy, if you like JJ we also did Better Together this morning, check out over on the channel.
Thank you man, it's difficult for beginners like me but your video is very instructive!
mqdesigner This is a tricky tune for sure. There are a lot of moving pieces, but I am happy to hear that you are getting with some work. Good luck moving forward man.
Thanks so much!! I'm hoping to master this song by my vacation to maui! This is helping a lot, thanks!! =]
Emilygrace919 One of the most fun songs to play on Ukulele of all time if you ask me, happy to hear that it is helping you so much.
MICHIGAN!!!! Love your style brotha.
Thank you so much! 269 a couple miles off exit 87 on I-94. Where on the palm are you from ✋🏼?
Definitely subscribing after that, great vid man.
Thanks Matt, hopefully we can have some stuff coming your way that will help you out along the learning process, too. We try to do a song every Wednesday and Saturday so keep an out for them. Thanks again for watching man.
You are the BEST! Thanks
You are the best! Thank you for your support.
Best cover on UA-cam! By a long way! 😎
ha! Thank you so much man. We put a lot of work into it to make sure that everybody could learn it as easily as possible. Good to hear that it worked! Thanks again for the compliment.
You're very welcome!
That moment when you FINALLY get the intro right only to realize its only the first 20 seconds of the song...brb kms! :D
Bwahahaha, awesome. Stick with it! You'll get it!
hahahah thanks for the motivation!!
Thank you so much! Keep up the great work :)
Hey, Tyler, I just wanted to say thanks for your videos. I don’t anything about playing any instruments, but this song is one of my favorites, and my goal is to learn it. I like your Lego method.
Any Jackson Browne songs up your sleeve?
Just thought to request Jack's Times Like These... big thanks again Tyler!
Breakdown would be fun too...
and No Other Way as well... =)
Nice lesson!
Ukulele Go Thanks Ukulele Go, happy to hear that you enjoyed it.
Yeah finally i can play a song on my ukulele. Thank you :-)
Tholly Supertramp Your welcome Tholly! An ambitious first song for sure, congratulations and we are happy to have helped.
love your tutorial! hope i can master it soon~
villainvs Stick with it and you will master it in no time!
Very well done. Thanks a lot!
+Josh Blair Very happy to share it with you, thanks for watching.
+TenThumbs Productions can you do gravity by John mayor please
This was really great and helpful! I'm only just learning picking and i picked it up easy. Thanks for this!
You are very welcome for this.
great song, gret lesson!
thanks from brazil!
Great student! Obrigado! Eu quero aprender o ukulele bossa nova.
this is awsome im learning pretty quick im just having trouble getting the struming down with pluck up and chuck
+Alex Vargas We made another video just for the strum pattern ua-cam.com/video/3oxT9zPVgRo/v-deo.html
holy fuck. been sitting here watching this habitually and I finally realized it's PLUCK up mute. not strum. now it actually sounds right.
yo Tyler if u read this, any videos of u with a tenor uke? im a sad sorry bastard and prefer to play songs that can reflect that, the concert just isn't low enough.
Awesome video! Thanks!
We are planning to take Tenthumbs on the road in the next year and a half or so, maybe we can jam!
there is no problem with the pdf tab sheet... Specialy as it is an arrangement, as long as you clarify it of course.
Thank you ! You are great on this
+Acácia De Almeida Thank you, you are great for playing Ukulele.
thanks dude
Practice makes perfect
Thanks very much ! Sounds very good and very well explained !!! So cool :)
Thanks! So much fun to play.
that strum pattern omg making me so mad!!! i can't seem to get the small up after P-U-X but it sounds so much better, can't keep the rhythm for the life of me
+shelbyalyssam We did a video just on this strum pattern, maybe it will help. With that extra up don't even try to strum it as so much as let your hand make contact on the way back up. Cheers and let me know if you need more help Shelby. ua-cam.com/video/3oxT9zPVgRo/v-deo.html
Finally got the hang of it, thanks!
11:40, ok is it supposed to be Am or Em bc you played Em and said Am and also Am7 it looks like you're playing a chord but its just all open strings isnt it?
Feel the same way! I'm confused lol @TenThumbsProductions
Très bonne vidéo, tes tutoriels sont top - Thanks - French fan
+Nicolas Dupire Merci beaucoup!
Awesome!! thanks for this.
My pleasure Rafael, thanks for the kind feedback man. If you are Jack Johnson fan we just got done breaking down Better Together, too, note by note. Keep on jamming my man and thanks for watching.
Nice!! Yeah I will. I have been learning a lot with your lessons, I really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Happy to help man, that's what we do. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much man, I'm having a lot of fun ;)
I'll give u an Abo u are such a Great teacher ;)
Thanks Zerckon, I try my best. I am happy that you learned and hope we have some other stuff that you like to play, too.
Can you also share the lyrics? Because it doesn't fit the lyrics.
I agree. He plays beautifully without the words. But I'd like to hear the song sang with him playing; add lyrics at the bottom of tutorial to play and sing a long would help
it isn’t supposed to fit the lyrics. it good for me, because i don’t sing.
Beautiful
this is a great tutorial! can you make a tutorial for Jason Mraz "If it kills me"?
I cant seem to pluck the first string as I change chords and I would end up strumming instead of plucking.. any tips?
+Anon N So this is slightly late, but, if you still need some help with the strum pattern this should help. ua-cam.com/video/3oxT9zPVgRo/v-deo.html
THIS is a beginner's song?? I have my work cut out for me... haha
Couldn't agree more
This is not a beginner song 😂 learn "go surf"
It's an advance and complicated song for Uke beginners. Don't do this song if you're a beginner. Take it from me,...a beginner..lol...but now that I have several beginners songs under my belt...Im learning this quite well.
I Started with 3 little birds by Bob Marley, some where over the rainbow, my girl, and I'm yours...Jason Mraz. I watch his tutorial and Cynthia Lins
Thanks a lot!
+Alan Smith You're welcome a lot!
thank you ma broda
+ignacio you are welcome ma broda
You should do Jack Johnson's seasick dream. Can't find any place to learn it.
Omg so difficult to learn to me but it s perfectly explained 😂💙🤗
Hi! I love your tutorials. I was wondering if you could make one for Jack Johnson's song "Seasick Dream." I am a beginner on the ukulele but would love to learn this song at some point. Thanks!
Great song! We have had a couple of requests for it, let me see what I can do.
Great tutorial!! :)
thanks!!
TenThumbs Productions :) no worries! thanks for the details though!
Could you possibly post a tutorial of Painting Roses by Dresses? THAT WOULD BE SO DOPE.
Awesome!
That was gas
On the mini bridge you keep saying Am7 but it looks as if you were playing Am. Wich one is the correct one?
Jack plays Am7, I play Am, I think it rings out better but both work great.
Thnx!!!
+musicchu You're welcome.
Upside down by Jack Johnson and You're gonna go far kid by The Offspring please. Love your channel!
Great video!
+Ingrid Myers Thank you!
u are awesome dude!
could you make a tutorial on someone new by BANKS.
thanks
Mahalo!
Ah awesome thanks!Mahalo! ^^
I love your tutorials bro but do you have any advice on increasing the volume while finger picking. I have the song down pretty well but it feels too quiet.
To increase volume I can try to "snap" the strings, if you can pull up just a little to it can really snap and pop.
+TenThumbs Productions right on. That helps thanks man. Are those Aquila strings or?
Do you think you could put all of the chords into sections to look at? I can play all of it I just have trouble remembering what order chords go with the sections
Hey Alena, I don't really know where I would post the chords on the channel but here is a link though that should serve as a really good reference to help you remember where everything is at. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/j/jack_johnson/banana_pancakes_ver4_crd.htm Let me know if that helps and thanks for watching. Have a lovely day!
Wow! Problem solved! Would you mind if I copied this and put it in the description?
Cool, let me comb through it and double check but I still appreciate that hard work you put into it too. Thanks Britt.
during the second riff of the intro how are you doing the strum at the end?
are you making the c6 chord and muting on the down strum and playing the c6 on the up strum?
^i hope that makes sense
Thanks for the tutorials!!
+Devon Borden c6 is supposed to be g7*** hahha oops
+Devon Borden Rock'n'roll Happy to hear that you got it.
Hi where do you take requests for songs to teach? If so could you try Mexico by Poor Mans Whiskey
+Pattyo O Hey Pattyo! All requests are welcome but no guaranteed, we get some many and I sincerely wish I could do them all. I write them all down on a paper but the list grows faster than I have time to do videos :( Hopefully we can make it happen for you though.
do more jack Johnson songs
Limit-Less have you seen the playlist of our Jack songs?
Are the mini and long bridges both played in the pluck-up-mute-up strum pattern as well?
yes
can someone explain to me wtf he means at 11:44 (a minor with a d sharp in the root)?
The chord is an A minor, but instead of playing normal you play the 3rd fret of the C string first, which is a D sharp.
hey, you guys should put the diagram if the riff not jut Rif1 it would be much more helpful. Awesome video though, Thank you!
Thanks for a great tutorial i'm just getting the hang of it, one question when you play the mini bridge at the end of the whole song does it go Am7 x 4 then G7 x4 twice then finish or am i missing something?
Could someone clarify which fingers are being used for the riffs? Is it the 3rd finger (ring finger) for all of them on the E string or do you switch with 2nd finger (middle finger)?
awesome, just awesome! is it possible to get a pdf of this tutorial, too? (was planning to sign up soon, anyway ;))
cheers from germany
I haven't actually put a PDF together for this one, because the PDF for Patreons happened about a year after this, but I can put one together and when I do I'll let ya know.
I see, thanks a lot! Telling from the other comments, I guess a PDF for this one would be very much appreciated! :)
Please do a tutorial of Tied Down by Colbie Caillat too 🙏🏻
What kind of ukulele is that? and what kind do you suggest me to buy? thanks
Thanks!!!!
Grab your Ukelele and grab your brain. Lol! I like this man! (Y)
Anyway you can do a tutorial for Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes?
Hey Tyler first off I want to thank you for the tutorial. I'm trying to master the song aka play and sing it at the same time but the intro is throwing me off. More specifically ik here you open up with four riffs, so my question is do I play the Riff 1, 2, 3, and 2 and again start over with riff 1 and 2 for the first two lines of the song or r the first 2 lines sung over Riff 3&2?
I suscribed!
Welcome! New Ukulele every Wednesday and Saturday, great to have you.
TenThumbs Productions Thanks! I was poking a bit of fun at your spelling in the tutorial! Great tutorial btw.
hahahahah, my spelling is so bad I didn't even notice! hahaha.
TenThumbs Productions I am an English teacher so it’s my curse that I see bad spelling and grammar everywhere. Kind of like that kid in Sixth Sense.
I was an English as a second language teacher for 7 years! I mostly stressed verbal communication in my classroom, hahaha. I wish I had your power, but my mind still just doesn't even see the mistakes.
I have a question. But First i have to say sry for my Bad english :)
Wenn u make the Sturmming u always play g String then up then chuck and then a string. Do i have to play the a String After a chuck?
No, you can end the chord on the chuck and it sounds perfect and than you can play the G-String for the first note of the next chord. Your English is excellent, where are you from?
Thank u and i am from Germany :)
