I am currently in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend who I met here in New York City and she moved back to Beijing to get more work experience in her field, so that when she gets back here she’ll be able to find a good job. I went to vacation in Japan and China last year January and February, after that I haven’t seen my girlfriend besides during our video calls. I also got up to this part of One Piece, recently. I cannot get through this opening without crying. Almost every single line in this opening applies directly to me on a personal level. “It hasn’t been tainted, the great, wide, distant sky that we looked up at on that day.” Reminds me of when I looked up at the Japanese skies and clouds with her, blissfully unaware of the pandemic that was on the horizon. (January 2020) I feel just like Luffy that is divided with his crew, I am divided with my girlfriend. I wait for the day that we are reunited as one piece. ❤️
