I love going to Knott's Berry Farm. Great job telling the history about Knott's Berry Farm and how Snoopy and friends from Peanuts help made Knott's grow
This was great! Thank you for making and sharing this! We love both Disneyland and Knotts. Of course we adore Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, we are grateful to have the Peanuts characters especially Snoopy apart of its wonder. 😄
I find myself loving Knotts Berry Farm more and more. It has such a unique story but because it isn't connected to a global entertainment company it doesn't get talked about as much. Its a hidden gem! -Josh
Snoopy and the Peanuts gang have been the mascots of Knott's Berry Farm since 1983. They were already well established there way before cedar fair purchased Knott's. When cedar fair had Knott's they acquired the rights to Snoopy and the Peanuts and they spread them out to their other parks across the country.
Knotts has had some great improvements over the past few years with some ex-Disney folks joining the team. The park is worth a visit with some of its festivities like Ghost Town Alive over the summer. -Josh
Camp Snoopy is no longer at Mall of America in Bloomington ,MN as it has relocated at Valley Fair a Cedar Fair park in Shakopee,MN as it renamed Planet Snoopy!
Glad to hear that the Camp Snoopy stuff from MOA made a home somewhere. I didn't know that! Most of the Cedar Fair parks have converted to Planet Snoopy now though except for Cedar Point, Knotts, and now Carowinds. -Josh
I had a job at cedar point working for cedar fair and I can tell you firsthand that cedar point or any of cedar fairs other parks wouldn’t be what they are today without the peanuts characters. Cedar Point actually has it’s own camp snoopy area as well.
Cedar Point is actually one of 3 that still have Camp Snoopy. The others have converted to Planet Snoopy and the Mall of America now has the Nickelodeon Universe. -Josh
Thanks! The park is having a great year right now. Peanuts Celebration, Boysenberry Fest, and Ghost Town Alive are all knocking it out of the park and the new Hangtime rollercoaster is fantastic! -Josh
Very interesting video. I never knew about this, I had always just assumed that Snoopy became the mascot of Knott's when Cedar Fair purchased the park.
After Walter Knotts death, they looked for ways to improve the park. Snoopy was one of the ways. Knotts is still looking to up the experience of guests. Things like Ghost Town Alive during the summer, the Boysenberry Food and Wine Festival, and Knotts Scary Farm are serious upgrades too. Knotts is better than it ever has been before and the Peanuts gang is part of that legacy. -Josh
To be honest, I also really love Knotts. For a few months I would have put it above Disneyland....and I'd agree that its a very genuine place. Disneyland is just too crowded but I can't fault them for that. They are trying to do what they can with the space they have. It does depend on my mood which park I want to spend my time at. I'll say I'd rather pick either park before picking Universal, Six Flags, or Sea World. -Josh
Mystery Herrara Disney had humble beginnings too, and it was very clear it was the passion project of a very inspired individual, but that charm only remains in bits and pieces of the park(s). The practice of haphazardly shoving IPs into everything and anything in recent years has just been absolutely unnecessary. That's what disillusioned me about the parks "magic". Funnily enough, the only amusement company I see actually taking risks as of late is Six Flags, with the installment of well-themed dark rides in several parks, that I hear are pretty fantastic.
As someone who works here I can say this is very credible, and yeahhhhhh I love the place due to the Peanuts influence so there's that as well on top of the rides and things they offer.
I don’t want for the Peanuts characters to be the mascots of Knott’s Berry Farm and the other Cedar Fair theme parks to last until 2025 i want them to be mascots as long as they can please 🙏
I have a feeling that the deal will get renewed. At this point it would cost Cedar Fair way more to take out the Peanuts characters than to keep them, but if it ever came down to them leaving, you'd still be able to visit them at Universal Studios Japan.
Can I ask you something please 🙏 Modern Mouse? I don’t want to go to Universal Studios Japan and visit the Peanuts characters, is that ok 👍 with you? 😁😁😁😁
There's a Cedar Point park a few minutes from where I live. For my childhood they had Camp Snoopy, but in recent years it's space themed and it's called Planet Snoopy or Snoopy World. I'm curious how many parks still have the Camp vs the space theme.
Carowinds, Cedar Point, and Knotts Berry Farm all still have Camp Snoopy while all of the other Cedar Fair parks have become Planet Snoopy. The Mall of America sold off the rights completely and is now the Nickelodeon Universe. Great question! -Josh
Network 1901 That's very interesting. I know most people I grew up with prefer Camp Snoopy even though it's basically the exact same just themed differently. Thanks!
Theme and environment is king. Disney's parks would just be carnival rides with characters in them if it wasn't for the immersive lands you walk into. The Planet Snoopy idea is interesting but Charlie Brown is just a kid, not an astronaut. Him at summer camp just makes more sense to what Peanuts is. Thats my two cents. -Josh
I went to Mall of America in Minnesota but I didn't see the theme park featuring Snoopy when I was there a few years back. Me and my family were actually there for the Nickelodeon theme park. Is the Snoopy theme park still inside Mall of America or was it shut down once Cedar Point purchased Snoopy and Knott's berry farm?
Yes, you are about 15 years too late as Cedar Fair couldn't come to a licensing agreement with Mall of America. They brought on Nickelodeon instead in 2005. -Josh
Cedar Point and CedarFair didn’t start using the Peanuts characters until after the acquisition of Knott’s Berry Farm. Prior to Snoopy and the gang, Cedar Point had the rights to the Berenstain Bears. They were replaced by The Peanuts gang after the purchase of Knott’s.
Cedar Fair didn’t start Cedar point (it was established in 1870 and there’s no way Valleyfair existed then), they bought it along with Valley fair, hence the name
There was a piece of property adjacent to Knott's that never got sold to Walter Knott. The second that Berry Farm was aquired by cedar fair.... The last lot of undeveloped land in Buena park, was turned into a parking lot.
The man that owned the 3 1/2 acres had a feud with Walter Knott and wouldn't sell him the land no matter how much money he offered him. It was written into his will that none of the Knott family could buy the Land.
Not true the berstine bears were cedar fairs mascot. In the 1990s untill knotts was purchased and cedar fair rolled out the peanuts to all of there parks soon after
We spent so much time at Knotts this year and really fell in love with the park. It became an escape from the crowds and chaos of Disney. I love how immersive Ghost Town is and I think they actually have better food than Disney does. -Josh
They continue to add characters. This past year they added Pigpen, I'm sure Marcie will be coming. Maybe for the Peanuts Celebration this winter. -Josh
He was meeting at the stables during the Peanuts celebration. Since then I think there have been rare sightings. If he were around it would probably be at the front of the park but there is a more likely chance of meeting him at the Celebration in January. -Josh
Snoopy and the gang will be mascots for Cedar Fair parks for a few more years according to the current contract. At the end of 2025, if there is not another contract signed, the parks will need to strip away all of the Peanuts theming and you won't be able to meet those characters in the park anymore. I highly doubt this happens and a new contract will probably be signed in 2025 or earlier. Knotts and the other Cedar Fair parks make a lot of money off of those characters so there is no need to change.
Knotts actually had the rights to the characters about 10 years prior to Cedar Point and the other Cedar Fair properties. When they bought Knotts, not much changed at the park. I'd actually argue the the best changes of recent years at Knotts have come from long time Knotts staff and some Disney folks jumping ship to join Knotts. -Josh

I love Knotts! And Peanuts! Can't wait to go back there it's been too long.
I keep preaching! Get back there! Haha -Josh
Skyler Von Skeltons You should! Also Knott's Soak City is such a great water park to go there too!
Peanuts alright, but taking them out of the shells takes a long time..

My niece calls Knotts "Snoopys house"

Snoopy is the best character ever next to his siblings and fifi. :3
I'm not sorry. I love Knotts way more than Disneyland. Knotts seems so genuine! I LOVE PEANUTS AND KNOTTS!!!

Mystery Herrara Not to mention they're cheaper and still tons of fun.
Right?

Mystery Herrara yeah i hate Disney its so boring and its so crowded in Disney land ugh i hate it and at Knotts its not,as much
As someone who works here I can say this is very credible, and yeahhhhhh I love the place due to the Peanuts influence so there's that as well on top of the rides and things they offer.
Thanks for the street cred! haha. Maybe I'll see you around the park! -Josh
Very interesting! Also, I used to work with a guy who used to work with Steve Martin at KBF. That's all I got.
Snoopy #1
Excellent video, thanks for posting, much appreciated : )
Thanks for watching! -Josh
I love Knotts and I love the Peanuts.
Thanks for the video! I've been waiting for a video like this. I was wondering why snoopy was mascot of Knott's!
Love your videos
Thanks Garrett! Appreciate the love -Josh
This is the first video I've viewed from your channel and I love it.
I only just got recommended this video but I love your editing!
Thank you so much! That means a ton as it's something I continue to think about and work on.
Snoopy is the mascot for every cedar fair park
Yes, but his roots as a mascot started at Knotts. Now he is at all of the different Cedar Fair parks. -Josh
Thanks for the informative video!
How have I not found out about your channel yet?!?!? Great video and a new subscriber 👍 😁
Great video! I learned some new awesome facts! ☺
Thank you so much!
Whittles is BACK!!!
All of the walk around characters are great. They add something to the atmosphere of the park!
Yay, Knott’s Berry Farm
Snoopy isn’t only a knotts berry farm mascot anymore it’s at all the parks that are owned by cedar fair
Yes, I thought i said that in the video that once Cedar Fair purchased Knotts the characters were at all of the parks. -Josh

Cedar point actually has both a camp snoopy and planet snoopy (I know from working there)
wow
Snoopy and The Peanuts Gang Characters Saves Knott's Berry Farm America's 1st Theme Park in Southern California USA 🇺🇲.
I went to Mall of America in Minnesota but I didn't see the theme park featuring Snoopy when I was there a few years back. Me and my family were actually there for the Nickelodeon theme park. i'm glad they'll keep Snoopy as their mascot......unlike SOME insurance company that removed him in 2016
I love knotts this really made me wanna go again lol
Sister Struggling same but is close the virus
I love hangtime
Cedar Point and CedarFair didn’t start using the Peanuts characters until after the acquisition of Knott’s Berry Farm. Prior to Snoopy and the gang, Cedar Point had the rights to the Berenstain Bears. They were replaced by The Peanuts gang after the purchase of Knott’s.
I also like whittles the gold miner
I like Whittles as well as a mascot
I wish he had a cartoon because you know he looks cartoonish though
I love my Knotts pass. I go there at least once a week.
We do too! -Josh
Cedar Fair didn’t start Cedar point (it was established in 1870 and there’s no way Valleyfair existed then), they bought it along with Valley fair, hence the name
Took the family and went on hang time!!! I was screaming so loud I lost my voice!!!
We were able to ride it for a press preview. Super smooth and fun but that lift hill and drop are pretty darn scary! -Josh
I got my first job at Knott's Berry Farm :)
Oh! What was your job there?
Actually they are in all cedar fair parks
3:58 Turn on your captions. It says "p***s characters."
My family nicknamed Knott's Berry Farm "Snoopy".
Yes!
There was a piece of property adjacent to Knott's that never got sold to Walter Knott. The second that Berry Farm was aquired by cedar fair.... The last lot of undeveloped land in Buena park, was turned into a parking lot.
Is it one of the parking lots for Knotts? -Josh

Super interesting! Wonder what their beef was. -Josh
Make a video on the nicktoons universe inside mall of America! 😁 I had no idea it used to be a snoopy park.
I definitely will be covering that and I'll be covering Nickelodeon in general -Josh
Just went today was way better then disney and six flags
Oh awesome! What did you do? -Josh
I like the peanuts gang
Not true the berstine bears were cedar fairs mascot. In the 1990s untill knotts was purchased and cedar fair rolled out the peanuts to all of there parks soon after
And California’s great America snoopy is there
Frick Disney I love knotts WAY BETTER

Please make a video on Nick Universe MOA.
Thats something I could definitely do! -Josh
Network 1901 thanks mate.
Knott’s Berry Farm or Disneyland
Who is better?
Bro didn't Snoopy become the Mascot of EVERY Cedar Fair park
Yes, but long after Knott's Berry Farm.
Wouldn't it be great if they add marcie as a costume
They continue to add characters. This past year they added Pigpen, I'm sure Marcie will be coming. Maybe for the Peanuts Celebration this winter. -Josh

Knotts Is Better Than Disney
I like both but there are definitely days I agree!
And KBF has the best food, with reasonable prices out of all the amusement parks in California in my opinion.
Knott's is cheaper than Disney! And always will be...
I haven’t even seen the video yet but I know the answer, Cedar Fair bought them. This one seems pretty obvious...
