Hi! Transmission successfully received, thanks very much. I subscribed a while ago but as I'm more of a lurker I comment only once in a blue moon. I love the vibes, keep at it :D
Let me start this essay with an anecdote: About a year ago I was getting back into the fountain pen hobby and started to watch people on YT gushing about their pen collections. I only had a handfull of fountain pens from my time in school, a couple Lamys and a couple no name pens, but nothing fancy. Every week or so I had a moment where I'd sigh "wouldn't it be nice if I got myself some new pens, even the newer Jinhaos and Majohns etc look so nice...". For months I kept saying that until I realised: "wait. WAIT A MINUTE, HOLD ON! . . . I- I could order a pen right this moment. . ." Who kept me from doing that all this time??? No one but me!
Long story short, I hope these facts are in the same vein:
    - No one says currently inked lists have to be monthly, they are just called "currently inked" everything else is personal prference. I do 2 lists per month for example; I call em "currently inked 1st/2nd half of *month* (date I did the list)" you could do as many or as few as you see fit. From every 3 days to every 3 months you make the rules
    - They don't have to start and end at the same time, especially if a pen runs out of ink quickly you don't have to ink it up again until a designated time when you don't feel like it (began 1st half of July with 6 pens and 9 days later I have 3 left): I started June's list on the 3rd and the "second half" started on June 19th, just happenstance
    - You can create an extra list for "longterm currently inked" pens like [pen brand, ink used, used for XYZ, date first inked up - date last inked up]
    - If you ink up a pen spontaneously, just add it to the list, if you like, with "date inked up: so and so". I got a new bottle of ink today and felt like inking up one of my all time favorite pens with it, so I did.
Hmm.. I thought I had more ideas at first but I lost all momentum now and looking back I see I'm extremely scatterbrained atm. sorry if this ends up being indecipherable D:
At the end of the day do what you feel comfortable with and declare those as "your rules" for currently inked lists, not the other way around. Thank u for coming to my TED talk, looking forward to your next transmission (sorry for the long ah comment) 🙏

@babbkachan thanks so much for your insight! I like and appreciate all of the points you made, the hobby should serve us and not the other way around. And we can always find new ways to make things as enjoyable as possible. Thanks!

I have a very limited selection of inks compared to most UA-camrs, too. Let's not talk about pens, though, even if mine are all mostly "cheap" Chinese pens ... 😂
I've been tweaking things for my own purposes, too. For example, I loved the idea of 30 inks in 30 days. But I don't own that many inks, even counting samples. So the first time, I picked 10 inks and inked the same 3 pens (EF, F, M nibs) over and over, cleaning them every 3 days. The next time, I did "30 days of Diamine" because I have exactly 10 Diamine inks, due to an international order that coincided with an incredible ink sale. So I used 3 different nib widths with each ink.
    I'm enjoying your videos!

I really like the Varsity fountain pen. How did you refill the pen? Rachelle in Seattle

I use pliers to take out the nib and feed section and then eyedropper fill the barrel! You can probably find a tutorial on UA-cam somewhere. Thanks for watching!

If you need video ideas in the future, I would also love to see a video of how you do this. I tried it once. I couldn't get the nib and feed off, so I handed it to my son to help, and the feed got mangled. (He meant well.)
