Of course it pricey, but it is in the same league than the Woburn in term of sound quality, plus it has wifi, dolby atmos, voice assistant, auto tune, awesome power ... so yes, it should cost 100$ less, but it is still "acceptable" because of what it offer. Nice vidéo anyway, i really like your work. I am still hesitate to take one 500 or two 200, what do you think as you tried both ?
You won't get the same bass thud from the 200s in a home wifi multiroom set up, but I'm sure it would sound good. It's probably only Mono set up with dual speakers. Thanks for the comment! Yeah its a pricey boy.
I totally disagree it is definitely not worth $700 the only reason they can get away with that asking price is because of lack of competition in this segment an Dolby Atmos don't even work with UA-cam music subscription so you have a powerful speaker with SD music something like a really powerful TV without HD or 4K video. I am thinking of purchasing a JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker. Before I do so, I would like to understand its compatibility with Spotify better. Is it possible to control a JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker via Google Assistant voice commands to play Spotify music? The reason I ask, is because the JBL One app doesn't have Spotify as one of its streaming services. I do have the Google Home app with various wifi speakers, and want to know if I can add the JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker as one of the wifi speakers in the Google Home app, and then play Spotify via voice commands on all speakers including the JBL one.
I totally agree with your cronicle! I own it, and the best way to enjoy it so far, is with JBL bluetooth turntable. Buy with streaming music, nothing to do with the sound quality of the Marshall"s Wolburn, that I also own. Congrats for your videos!!
Might aswell go the 200 and save money and space. It basically has the same size and amount of drivers. 90w vs 100 max power. The only real difference is the battery, the handle and the larger enclosure which probably allows it to play down lower in the sub bass.
I haven't listened this speaker in person yet, but i have a boombox 3 wifi and i like the sound, but for the price of one Authentics 500, I will probably go for two boombox 3 wifi for a stereo sound.

Can I play lossless or Dolby Atmos audio from Apple Music on my Mac through an aux cable connected to the speaker input, or is it only possible via WiFi using Tidal Connect? I assume AirPlay does not support lossless or Dolby Atmos, unless you're using AirPods or a HomePod.
Just tried it at the store. Very disappointed. It sounded very moody. No stage at all, no highs. Boombox 3 WiFi sounds much better, costs the same, and is much more practical
How deep does it go max? Frequency Range? It is 40 Hertz rated, but JBLs always go deeper than their ratings. So please tell me. How good is 38 Hertz in music? Play some 38 Hertz music. Phonk, Riddim Dubstep? Something good 35 - 38 Hertz sounding music. Does it sound great? And using its bass EQ at full. Mids and highs max low and bass at max high. That extra bass. 🗿🍷 I always use my JBLs bass +2, mids and highs -2. JBL Partybox 310. 😆
The bass in Boombox 3 is a bit better, than on Authentic 500 (surprisingly). Bass on 310 is much better, than on both BB3 and 500. But 310 lacks highs, and is pretty poor on mids. Overall, BB3, sounds most balanced for me among 3. But, bass is definitely strongest on 310

I don't have this speaker, but right now I am building a speaker that goes down to 35 hz and it's very happy at 40. Listening through my speaker I can tell you that JBL is very happy at that frequency. You don't really need anything lower than 35 hz for music especially if you put it in the corner of the room and get boundary room gain. Since my speaker is relatively flat frequency respeonse and doesn't color the sound that much, I can tell you that JBL has also very flat uncolored sound

And the Sub opens up the 300 to do what it does best, the higher frequencies. 2 ERA 300s with SUB - Probably the best sound system one can build. Just incredible. You want to park your chair in between and just soak it all in. The wide sound & ATMOS is amazing. 1 JBL just can't match 2 separate speakers. The JBL doesn't allow connecting 2 together.
I’ve used my skullcandy crusher headphones. Not the same thing as live .. but.. i don’t get why you support the marshall. Sounds like a cheap china speaker compared to the 500. I love the lows on the 500.. but the 300 sounds more balanced. Not impressed with the new generation from jbl. I’ll just keep my partybox 100.. till something better gets in at a decent price. All the best!
I received the HK Go+Play 3 yesterday, along with the Marshall Acton 3. I wanted to try the HK to compare them, and here's what I found. If you enjoy and understand Marshall's sound signature, then the HK Go+Play 3 might not be for you. While it doesn't sound bad, it has a warm and 'unrealistically fun' sound profile. However, its soundstage is wider and airier compared to the Marshall. The Marshall's bass and mids are more "mature" and accurate in comparison. Based on this comparison, I've decided to pack up the HK Go+Play 3 and send it back.
On my LG C1 tv when connected with 3,5 mini-jack the sound stops after 15-30 minutes. Did anybody else have this problem? When i rewire my old speakers all ok. Can't find a snooze or energy saving option in the JBL One app.
300 soundstage is way better.. 😂The 500 with so many tweeters and dedicated mids still couldn't beat the clarity on the 300...the marshal is just muffled as hell

I have 2 Sonos era 300, and have run Apple Music Dolby and special audio in stereo mode. They sound good, but I feel they are both missing the sound signiture I like. Sonos they focus on nailing the highs and just throwing in base for good measure and it doesn’t feel cohesive. Where as one 500 playing Dolby atmos tracks from Amazon music sounds amazing. Sounds like a lot of digital crap. In the 80's I bought two top line Teal stereo speakers. Each Speaker cost $5000.00. They were in beautiful walnut cabinets and each one was almost 5 feet tall. That was when audiophiles could get great equipment. This digital garbage can with a zillion bells and whistles that don't even work sounds awful and requires a Phd in Bulls**t to learn to use. I sold those Teal speakers 20 years later and got more then i paid for them This JBL is just junk...the lowest possible quality in every way like everything else the USA makes in China, including our dying currency. I would not pay $20 for this thing.
Oh my lord... Rca to 3.5. RCA has zero to do with wanting to use a turntable. Why don't you try casting via chromecast? Do the inputs autosense? So if it's connected to the tv for tv audio and I'm done watching TV. Can I just cast some audio from my phone and have it start playing? Or do I have to manually switch inputs? Same if it hasn't been used all day. If I turn on my TV or cast music, will it just start playing?
I will admit I've never actually owned a record player so I'm still learning on that front for connections. I did use chromecast over youtube, it works fine! I didn't test the auto sense but i don't believe it's the same issue like the Woburns where they auto off with no way to adjust that. Since it's wifi it should turn on if in a sleep state. For BT I didn't test the sleep option... valid question.
@@DannyPops I have their older Authentics, the L8. Phenomenal sounding. But with no remote, you have to manually go and adjust it. Volume doesn't retain when turned back on, so you have to manually adjust that. JBL is annoying to deal with for service info. The android app doesn't work. Not even in the store. And sideloaded, it doesn't work. So their $600 speaker from 2015 or so is an unsupported relic. My one issue with these overpriced speakers and why I tend to favor separate 2.1ch amps and passive speakers. Speakers like this should auto power on and autosense inputs so no intervention is required for them. They should just work. Apps, remotes should be bonus. And digital amps have such a low power draw when not in use. Maybe a dollar's worth of electricity a year. To me it seems like common sense to do this. I don't know why it's not standard in all these speakers, amps, amp boards (for DIY) and so on. Especially with wifi and casting or sending from a phone. Should be basic. Thanks for the reply.

@@DannyPops thank you, I think to wait for a price offer on the 500 and go with it. Nice job !
I totally disagree it is definitely not worth $700 the only reason they can get away with that asking price is because of lack of competition in this segment an Dolby Atmos don't even work with UA-cam music subscription so you have a powerful speaker with SD music something like a really powerful TV without HD or 4K video. Until compatibility issues get resolved I recommend Marshall Woburn two speakers you'll save a couple hundred bucks.
@@richardcerritelli9657 yes but Wooburn is just bluetooth, no wifi (sound quality is a lot better in wifi) less powerfull, 1 year guaranted etc ... yes the Jbl is over priced, but if we are objective, the wooburn is a lot of more ...
What speaker is for you the best in sound quallity all round for example if you want to hear some jazz, folk, rock, and part music, but more of the seat and enjoy the creamy great quallity sound instead of that big woofer that dominates the vocals sometimes, which one is for you the top 3 best loud HI RES speakers for full joy, thanks and really great videos.
Hey do you unplug yours after each use? Mine gets warm while playing
Since you own both which of the two would you recommend to purchase? Im looking for high quality sound not just powerful sound.
ok, lets do this... Hello! watched it till the end... and oh yeah, thanks for this video, it made us help make our descision (proper english?)
Can you review Klipsch the Three plus? I am really curious about this new speaker compare to JBL and Marshall
Hello 👋🏼 didnt know jbl was making these style speakers. Can you do a comparison between the jbl Charge 5 and the 200 or 300 jbl authentics
i really feel like the Authenics 300 sounds better than either of them in this example!
Might aswell go the 200 and save money and space. It basically has the same size and amount of drivers. 90w vs 100 max power. The only real difference is the battery, the handle and the larger enclosure which probably allows it to play down lower in the sub bass.
Hello! Good luck with your channel! Good content!
Jbl clear detailed, it's cool🤗
Im choose jbl, realistyc sound compasion🎉
I haven't listened this speaker in person yet, but i have a boombox 3 wifi and i like the sound, but for the price of one Authentics 500, I will probably go for two boombox 3 wifi for a stereo sound.
The boombox wifi is $50 lower priced than the 500, so not sure what money you’re saving.
@@mattgericke4537 boombox 3 WiFi last November-December was in $350
Even one BB3 WiFi sounds better
Good review! If I needed to replace my AudioEngine A5+ TV speakers I would buy the JBL 500 for sure. After watching your previous JBL 200 and 300 videos I ordered the 200 for my office use. I can't wait to chromecast my library of HiRes music from my Samsung Tab S9+ and soon my Google Pixel 8 Pro phone.
I bought one recently. Have you experienced a humming/buzzing sound while connected?
Yeah. All of them have it.
@dannypops If the woburn 3 and JBL Authentics 500 are priced almost the same... which one would you recommend?
@@immanuelraja ahhh that's hard. I'd honestly just go with the one you like the looks of more. Keep in mind JBL has the wifi capability.
@DannyPops thanks for the prompt response.❤. While I like the looks of the Woburn, the features on the JBL are definitely good. I am confused coz I haven't heard the performaonce , live.
Don't you need a phono input (not just phono plugs) and a GND to connect a turntable to the Marshall?
They should be priced at $500,$300, and $200.
If they priced it like that - it would make too much sense lol. I agree and would also say they'd be best buys then.
Very cool but price is a bit steep. Live that look though.
Hi Danny, ime going to buy the 5oo, but can I play my Spotify account through it please.
Just tried it at the store. Very disappointed. It sounded very moody. No stage at all, no highs. Boombox 3 WiFi sounds much better, costs the same, and is much more practical
You mean muddy?
Too strong bass?
Overpowering?

The marshall sounded terrible
Are you getting any white noise from the speakers of the 500 at low or no volume? I don’t get it on my 300 but do on my 500.
Yeah I get white noise on mine at low volume
Which Bluetooth speakers would you say have the best sound quality? (Price aside)
Sonos
Boombox 3 WiFi
@@8000860 How much they are paying you?
Can you confirm if both 500 and 300 are in stereo? Much appreciated.
500 doesn't sound as stereo. The stage is even worse, than in Boombox
Excellent comparison 👍
How deep does it go max?
Frequency Range?
It is 40 Hertz rated, but JBLs always go deeper than their ratings.
So please tell me.
How good is 38 Hertz in music?
Play some 38 Hertz music.
Phonk, Riddim Dubstep?
Something good 35 - 38 Hertz sounding music.
Does it sound great?
And using its bass EQ at full.
Mids and highs max low and bass at max high.
That extra bass.
🗿🍷
I always use my JBLs bass +2, mids and highs -2.
But, bass is definitely strongest on 310
@@8000860 Huh?
Flossy Carter says JBL Authentics 500 is a monster.
Huh?
How do you get different out come?
But also he does not say in details.
How deep they go in Hertz and more.
That is annoying side of his.
And also JBL Boombox 3 WiFi is better.
Much better bass tuning.
Alan Ross Reviews made a video JBL Boombox 3 WiFi vs JBL Boombox 3.
And likes the bass more on JBL Boombox 3 WiFi.
Better tuning.
And i have JBL Partybox 310, but it is too much in my house.
I need a good home speaker with good deep bass and sound.
And i have nothing.
Too much.
Too loud.
@@bass_freak Yep, 310 is pretty poor in terms of sound quality. I'm looking for a nice simple home speaker as well. JBL disappointed me with that. Looking at the Citation 500 currently, or something similar.
How deep bass does JBL Authentics 500 have?
Frequency response is 40 Hz, but what about maximum bass frequency range?
Can you tell me please?
I don't have this speaker, but right now I am building a speaker that goes down to 35 hz and it's very happy at 40. Listening through my speaker I can tell you that JBL is very happy at that frequency. You don't really need anything lower than 35 hz for music especially if you put it in the corner of the room and get boundary room gain. Since my speaker is relatively flat frequency respeonse and doesn't color the sound that much, I can tell you that JBL has also very flat uncolored sound
@@valuerc2664 I have music that has 32 Hz - 30 Hz music.

Woburn 3 or Authentics 500 for ground shaking bass?
Authentics for bass definitely.
Just received my Authentics 500, and the bass is fantastic. If you like house, hip hop or reggaeton, you will be in heaven. I'm just upset I can't really see what it can do because I live in a condo and my neighbors will be UPSET.
If you're on the fence, I would definitely recommend. It's my favorite speaker. I have the Marshall Acton III (great for the bedroom), Bose 301 series 5, a Klipsch computer set (also great), and a mini Polk soundbar. I need to stop buying speakers because my living room is speaker city. 😂
Well I bought all with intention of returning the losers.
Denon 350 - great but didn't compare to Era 300 & JBL 500
JBL 500 - Extremely great sounding as you know. Although I think reverts to traditional bass - very thumpy.
ERA 300 - on its own - best wide open & pure sounding - with it's 6 drivers vs JBL 2.
And it does Dolby ATMOS music far better with wide soundscape. Pretty hard to to ATMOS with only 2 speakers.
Although the 300 cant match JBL bass.
ERA 300 with SONOS Sub - best music jukebox you can have. With Sub it goes deeper then the JBL. And its PURE bass, not the artificial thumpy bass of the JBL.
How is the bass output?
So will be good for inside a car ?
What about the Klipsch the three plus vs this one
I’ve used my skullcandy crusher headphones. Not the same thing as live .. but.. i don’t get why you support the marshall. Sounds like a cheap china speaker compared to the 500. I love the lows on the 500.. but the 300 sounds more balanced. Not impressed with the new generation from jbl. I’ll just keep my partybox 100.. till something better gets in at a decent price. All the best!
The 300 sounded nice
compare to JBL Partybox 110?
Nice and detailed review. I like your speaker reviews and your presentation as well. Please do review on HK Go+Play 3 speaker from Harman family
Thanks

Soundcore motion 300 review vs jbl flip 6 & bose flex pls!?
On my LG C1 tv when connected with 3,5 mini-jack the sound stops after 15-30 minutes. Did anybody else have this problem? When i rewire my old speakers all ok. Can't find a snooze or energy saving option in the JBL One app.

Hello there ! Does anyone knows , if 500 authentics support internet radio ( from the JBL one app) ? Thank you guys !
It would be cool IF the 500 its build on rechargeable
There are no chromecast speakers of this range basically you have no choice if you want to add a speaker to google speaker group
300 soundstage is way better.. 😂The 500 with so many tweeters and dedicated mids still couldn't beat the clarity on the 300...the marshal is just muffled as hell
Amazon music has always been garbage Imo with how random things are with Hifi and Atmos. Apple music works so much better at that than Amazon.
Woburn 3 wins in sound quality and price
How does it do with the rock genre….? More specifically Metalcore. 😂
@Ascinded Tech Ninja. See this. I did right. The A500 is monster and destroys the marshall speaker here😈
Let see. You can make the 500 warmer than it does. See that anyone here?? It destroys the marshall Wilburn 😈
What about deezer...
Dumb question here. Given that the authentics line has now dropped in price. Would you purchase 2 of the 200's and pair tgem together or buy 1 500? Its exactly the same price at $550 or would you do the insane thing and buy 2 500's and pair them together 🤣
Oh wow! They aren't going to have the jbl 500 bass, but I'd imagine 2x200s would be sweet but awkward. I'd imagine the room aesthetics would play into your choice. Personally, id just get the 500 because I like it a lot.
@@DannyPops Update. I went with the 2 500's and I do not regret the decision. We have a ranch house with an open concept so 2 of these fill the house which is exactly what we were hoping for. I am really pleased and I definitely would recommend getting a pair of Authentics no matter which series.
@kylestrawser2501 oh wow! That's such a power combo there! Thanks for sharing your journey here for others to learn from. :)
@kylestrawser2501 Congratulations on a powerful combination. Does it support stereo sound when streaming music with two 500? People say it just becomes binaural
For $200 more I think you'd be far better off getting TWO Sonos Era 300, connected together in stereo.
Rich, fluid, highs get high when they should and lows get low. Feels like I’m at a concert instead of sitting in front of a speaker. Plus the Sonos app is the bane of my existence!!

@DannyPops I thought it was my bluetooth connection so I tried a different speaker. The 500 is the only one that cuts out like it's losing the signal.
I don’t have any issues. It must be interfering with something
Try to use it with the network port to see if it some kind of interference with the wifi signal.
Works perfectly for me.
