This is what investigative reporters do. They get out into the world and research stuff, using interviews with experts and researching documentary and official evidence. They are also held to higher standards of accuracy than other types of media. And as unpopular as what I’m going to say is, is the reason why mainstream media needs more support. Sure, by all means, call them out when they get things wrong. That’s accountability. That’s why bylines matter. That’s why we need more investigative reporters of Carole’s calibre. That’s how you hold people and businesses and governments to account.

It’s not just bad public health. It’s bad journalism Shocking. A journalist for The Guardian thinks someone she disagrees with should not be given a platform. And she talks of democracy?
Having a first past the post system is not very democratic. I live in a very tory constituency, it makes no difference if I vote Tory or Labour or Green my vote is irrelevant, it makes no difference to the election result.
