This is how I grew up no money to pay a professional to do anything so you have to learn to do everything and improvise ... born in 62 ... I understand your thought process... have a blessed one brother
Not to be cruel or cold I literally thought you were dead but I remember watching you on all the biker build offs back in the day I’m glad you’re still kicking and building cool shit.
I notice your subscription count is climbing! Like I said always thought you were one of the best guys to watch on biker build off I was 16 or so then I'm 37 now ! And I have a garage full of bikes a HD slim being one of them
@@chopperhehehe yeah I didn’t really pay attention to others. That Paul yuppy was a good laugh. “ who’s Indian Larry” well he soon found out didn’t he lol
Vintage racing is cool, I remember watching a classic scramble meet back in the 90s when Marsh Runyan and another American racer I forgot raced with local classic guys at Bendigo Australia all the bikes British Harley and even the old two strokes out makin noise and banging bars. What a blast.
A great coffee mug at 11,30 :-) If we want to see good videos about bike building or metal work in Germany we have to watch American videos. I like Billys style to explain everything he does very detailled and very clearly.
That’s BadAss !! Billy I found a new love ! My grandfather talked bout racing in Richmond and Chesterfield VA on dirt during the week cause cars had them on weekends 🤘🏼
Billy I been following you since I was a kid me a my buddy would ride or chopper bicycles built outta trash to the 7-11 and get a easy rider magazine and red bull and sit out by the dumpster and read it, now almost 20 years later still watching I dont have a real bike but I'm still all about running and open chain drive torque converter on my mini bike, chewing my pants up when I'm riding around terrorizing the neighborhood
Bro, you are such a great teacher. You explain what you are doing really well. It's a skill I haven't gotten down yet. I'd like to thank you for putting out this great content. When I finally get the opportunity to build a bike of my own, the experience you share will prove to be worth a ton. Keep the channel going and the art alive!
Best experience you can get is by doing it mate, sure a bit of theory helps, but the actual practical side of it is the ticket. Another great way to learn is by doing it wrong. And then having to fix what you fuct lol. Trust me I have my fair share of f ups!
When I learned to paint I was told to put the least amount on motorcycle tanks it won't chip as easy so striping is done with a air brush and minamul material so it don't chip then clear it with urethane while it's fresh so they bond
The kids got talent!! Whats that old saying.. there's 2 things in life that r for certain.. death and taxes.. well U can add that a Billy lane bike is gonna be 🔥🔥👍❤️🇦🇺
I just watched part 1 and thought "I wonder if part 2 is up" .... Uploaded 1 hour ago! Serendipity! I love this machine, elegant and mean looking at the same time...but loving your videos even more. Filled with awesome knowledge and devoid of the typical youtube screaming egos. It's like demonstration day in shop class...without the class clown.
Billy, you and Jesse are my idols. You guys inspired me to go to school to learn how to weld so I can build my own custom chopper like you guys and hopefully 1 day have 1/4 of your skills. Still unfortunately haven't built my bike bike but hopefully one day. Would love to come visit you one day at your shop.
hello billy i like your content , like the boardtrackers i used to race the flathead open mod briggs dirt karts SO i love all the cool engines on the old bikes ALL GOOD David
This is legit one of the SICKEST looking H.D.'s I've ever seen!!! That KTM wheel/ tire setup is sweet looking, the stance/ size of them really makes the bike look aggressive and you can't argue and lbs. saved. Power to weight ratio is key. Keep the patina'd paint as is please. Looks amazing as it sits. That stainless exhaust is perfect. Definitely taking advantage of the 'scavenging effect' with the collector, nice. Pre-bent mandrel piping is the only way to go if you don't have a high dollar bender like a tube shark. The bike is just the right mix of old school/ modern racer IMO. I love your setup in your shop man! Sick fab table, Bridgeport mill, Tig, etc... Can make so many things possible with a little creativity and effort. Sons of Speed sounds like such a good time! Thanks for sharing brother, and keep up the excellent work!!👍👍💪💪😎😎
Great job on the stainless exhaust. I like the fact you're running a mag. By the way, just leave the paint just the way it is, love the patina look. Good luck, Billy!
Agree, regarding original paint. Original paint happens only once and should stay on a motorcycle as long as possible. At least tins. Only my opinion. Great video. 👍🏻
Larry is smiling you are doing these vid journals for everyone to watch and learn a trick or two on an old school diy budget. Safety wiring vid would be cool,
Man tempted to paint my tanks and guards myself. I like how you welded a nut to the exhaust pipe rather than a ugly clamp, very clever tip . Some great info in your vids Looking forward to more
Hey billy it’s so good to find you on here when I was in hospital recovering after a near fatal motorcycle crash I would watch videos of you through social media and you helped get me through my ordeal so Thankyou.
Great Stuff , I enjoy watching and learning new fabrication tips and tricks from a Guy with the Experience & Confidence as you. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for posting these How To Videos for us backyard garage builders . Thanks again 👍👍
Just beautiful work! It gave me the itch to try fabrication. I’m so glad you’re pushing safety. I had to reconstruct a guy’s face because an angle grinder wheel blew apart!
Nice pipes! They remind me of a set I wanted a while back, 2 into 1 Gallop pipes, just primal and purposefully built. This bike looks like a ton of fun!
Dude that was freakin amazing!....holy shit. That pipe is sick Billy. Awesome inspiring work man....keep up the videos coming dude please!....love what your doing man
I thought for sure you weren’t gonna have enough clutch arm travel with those pipes there but you did. Hopefully tho when it wears you don’t. I guess you could keep the clutch adjustment bolt tight at all times.
I'd love to see a *gun metal blueing* on a bike like this, I wouldn't doubt someone has tried it, but I haven't seen it yet, and I think it would look absolutely badass.
This is how I grew up no money to pay a professional to do anything so you have to learn to do everything and improvise ... born in 62 ... I understand your thought process... have a blessed one brother
Billy Lane...nuff said!!!
thats a great looking ,,,ol scooter thing just looks kool as hell
Not to be cruel or cold I literally thought you were dead but I remember watching you on all the biker build offs back in the day I’m glad you’re still kicking and building cool shit.
Swap meet specials are my favorite bikes. Been on them 45 years.
Man that thing is pure Americana at its finest!
Great looking paint Job BILLY. I always said the secret to a good paint job is to shake the can for the full 2 minutes 👍😃🇦🇺
Don't forget to swirl the ball for another 60 seconds. Adds about another 13.265% of pure pro-fresh-inality🤘
I notice your subscription count is climbing! Like I said always thought you were one of the best guys to watch on biker build off I was 16 or so then I'm 37 now ! And I have a garage full of bikes a HD slim being one of them
He was deffo best on biker build of

Flathead with a mag. How badass is that.
Vintage racing is cool, I remember watching a classic scramble meet back in the 90s when Marsh Runyan and another American racer I forgot raced with local classic guys at Bendigo Australia all the bikes British Harley and even the old two strokes out makin noise and banging bars. What a blast.
Dude those bikes were flying around that track man!

Wish I could run a hubless rear wheel on a mini bike now that we would be a dream come true
This is way better than bikes and beards !

That's a sweet ride. 👍👍👍
Amazing work! Can't wait for part 3.
Love to see what this guy could do with a metric cruiser.

I thought for sure you weren’t gonna have enough clutch arm travel with those pipes there but you did. Hopefully tho when it wears you don’t. I guess you could keep the clutch adjustment bolt tight at all times.
if u use a remote mic on your collar it will eliminate the echo chamber, so doesn't sound like you're in a well. I like the springer.☺
I’m coming from Springfield, Tn. to Sons of Speed 2023 Billy!! Hope I can say hello to you!!
I'm not much on red bikes either, but I remember way back when I saw, the Devil in a Red Dress, and that was just alright with me!
Love it
Very nice work.
