The idea of U108 PRE is to provide 10 microphone preamps inside the USB audio interface, so the answer is no. However, on our U86 XT and U168 XT, there are line inputs on the back that do bypass the preamps completely. So, you might want to look at those two products.
I have a question...here in Argentina the ESI u22xt it's fairly easy to find. How it fares against other similar priced interfaces? it will be nice to see a demo comparing it, to see how it performs. Cheers!
Unfortunately, there is no comparison to other models. But if you visit our product's website and scroll down, you'll find some links that lead to reviews / product tests: www.esi-audio.com/products/u22xt/
Hi mornig for me. Compliment for your demonstration. I have a question to ask you before purchasing the Esi MU 4 eX midi unit. I have 2 masterkeyboards ( arturia keylab mkii 88 ; a m-audio oxygen 49 mkV). Then I have to drive :1) korg 4x 76n ketron sd2; viscount legend expander; imac 27" with logic x pro, m-audio 192/6 sound card. I would like to assign to the arturia (4x korg and ketron sd2), to the maudio oxigen 49 mkV (organ viscount legend expander and various hammond B3x plugs present in the imac. How can I make imac pods recognize these configurations both in studio and in "standalone"?i hope that replay me. Regard. Modesto
When you connect M4U eX to your iMac, you will run a DAW on your computer and in that you can assign the MIDI input signals to the MIDI outputs. All the devices you have can be connected at the same time. In standalone mode, when your iMac is switched of, this setup does not work. You can select between various standalone modes (more details in the M4U eX manual that you can find on our website), they are all optimised for one master keyboard however.
Hi echo, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, U168 XT does not work with an iPad. But our class compliant devices would work with it, for example U22 XT.
@@ESIaudio thanks. I was hoping to get 16 Channels working with the iPad. I was looking at the Tascam US16-08 which is class compliant and works with the iPad but was really hoping that the ESI would. You all should look at getting a new version to work with iPad. There are a lot of us with a bunch of external gear looking for such a device to pair with our iPad Pros. 16 Channels IN in this form factor is definitely rare and you should make that work on Mac/PC and iPadOS since that is a model quite a lot of users are integrating in to their workflow.
I want to use this in a radio broadcasting studio. I want the audio from my PC to go to a broadcasting mixer and then I would like the music and microphones connected to the mixer to go back to the PC so I can stream the mix online. I used to do it with an M-Audio Delta interface. Would that be possible with your audio interface?
Yes, this works with the whole series: U22 XT, U86 XT, U168 XT and U108 PRE. U22 XT would be enough based on your description, but you might want to check if you need more inputs for other signal sources as well.
Thanks for the nice video. A quick question: Can I connect your Gigaport eX Audio interface via usb cable (type C) to my PC an play SACD files (DSD .iso ) that are stored in my HD ? I'm not sure if I can use the Gigaport eX as a multichannel DAC connected to my Quadriphonic amplifier. Thank you
Hi Fabio, with GIGAPORT eX it is possible to play SACD files. You only need to check that you use a software that is able to play SACD (such a software is not included with GIGAPORT eX).
Thanks for your feedback! I use JRiver and Foobar2000, they both play multichannel dsd and flac files. I'm looking now for the nearest store where I can buy the Gigaport eX :)
You're right, U86 XT is not class compliant. We provide current drivers on our homepage: download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=97&g=2&l=en When it comes to BigSur compability, please check the following article that is being updated on a regular basis: kb.esi.ms/KB00308EN
Hi, I have a question regarding the u108 pre interface: I'm wondering if it's possible to record line level signals using the mic preamps? Thanks in advance :)
You can use U108 PRE also to record line level signals. However, the optimization is still for microphone signals. So, it is a good choice if you need the preamps and sometimes record line level signals. However, if you only use line level signals and no or not as many microphone inputs, you will get better results if you look at our U168 XT, which has 16 line inputs and 4 microphone preamps.
How is the driver support for the ESI Maya 22 USB? I just bought one today as my old M-Track 2x2 has horrible drivers that crash my very capable laptop frequently.
For ESI MAYA 22 USB, you can download the latest driver on our website: download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=88&g=2&l=en We update our drivers for current products on a regular basis and we inform our users about new drivers on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). All the best!
@@ESIaudio Just got my Maya 22, it is absolutely insane. Definitely sounds a lot better than my old interface and the drivers are fantastic. I just have one small issue though, when using a condenser mic even though I have input monitoring turned off, I can hear the mic input in my headphones, I'd really like some help with this.
@@hermianofficial3400 The input signal can be muted in the control panel by pressing the "Mute" button. A red Mute button indicates that the mute function is enabled. When disabled, the button is grey. It's also important to check if you have chosen the right input source (in this case: Mic). We hope this was helpful and wish you lots of fun recording!
Although not covered in either of your "Mr. ESI USB Interfaces" videos I have a question regarding your MIDI USB interfaces. I.e. the ESI M4U eX sports a 3x USB3.0 hub to which I would like to connect a USB audio interface so that both devices take up just one USB3.0 port on my Windows machine. Would you recommend this or are there known issues with this kind of setup?
Hi guys! I've purchased the Maya44 eX Interface from ESI. Unfortunately the macOS driver is buggy. After sleep, all sounds are being played at the wrong speed if other sampling rates rather than 44.1kHz are being used. The higher the rate, the slower the sound playback. Unfortunately ESI doesn't fix this, my mails to ESI keep getting ignored!! Bad drivers. Very bad customer support! I'd like you ESI people to fix this!
Hello Wolfgang-Michael, sorry for your bad experience. We have to admit that the MAYA44 eX macOS driver is not at the highest level of priority since more than 99% of the users are using it only under Windows. That said, we are aware of the issue and it is on our todo list to check and improve for the future. Unfortunately issues related to sleep mode are often a bit tricky and depend on the used computer system as well. Please be assured that we take your criticism seriously and we are discussing your request internally.
I'm only confused why a 1u housing doesn't come with rack ears. Blocker for me.
what do if turn on headphones 250 ohm for esi u22?
Hi ESI team, verry interrested in the U108, do the back line inputs bypass the preamp circuit? I want to use an external preamp

Can i use the ESI U86 XT in stand-alone mode? Without a pc or mac?
Can the line inputs of the U168 XT handle eurorack signals?
