Here we have it ladies and gentlemen... the first American to ever realize there is a different between Rugby Union and Rugby League!!! Thank goodness for Allure Vision!!!
Latrell Mitchell’s try celebration is a kangaroo pose. It’s a symbol that represents indigenous people of australia. Same as Greg Inglis with his Goanna crawl.
@@ladskees Aboriginals didn't believe in land ownership, and even if they did, it was conquered a long time ago and now the land belongs to Australia for all Australians :)
In australia there are 250+ tribes/native nations. Of those 250+ tribes we can divide those groups up by using our states and regions as the divider. In the state of New South Wales (NSW) the aboriginals are called kooris. In Queensland (QLD) the aboriginals are called murris. Each state or region has there own name. Within the state of NSW, is where latrell mitchell and greg inglis are from. Latrell mitchell’s tribe is the Biripai nation (not 100% certain). The biripai people’s totem is the shark. A totem is very special to us aboriginal people. We have to protect our totems and are not allowed to eat or harm it. A totem is either flora or fauna, (for most parts of australia) and if your parents are both aboriginal, you should always take your mothers totem. Greg inglis is from the dunghutti nation and there totem is the praying mantis. Both latrell and greg imitate an animal thats not from there nation, but thats alright because the message is about pride, culture and embrace. For me, i am a wiradjuri and garawa man. My totem is the barramundi fish (garawa) and my creator is biyami. P.s Some indigenous people know more about there cultural identity than others due to history, so don’t expect every aboriginal person to be an expert
I'm so glad that the fact that you can tell the difference between rugby league and rugby union means I like you straight away. Sick of watching Americans not figuring out the differences between the two. Anyways keep up the good work and I hope to see more rugby league videos from you 😄
Latrells my little cousin.. he's deadly as.. he is a biripi man from Taree.. the celebration pose is the kangaroo.. it's an indigenous thing.. A few of the Aboriginal boys have one.. Thanks for the lovely comments about him 😊
I really enjoyed this video, glad you're taking the time to view the great game of rugby league. You should definately take a look at State of Origin. It's a state vs state series where NSW (Blues) and QLD (Maroons) go head to head three times a year. You could take a look at the 2018 series highlights to get the gist of it. #gotheblues
Try celebrations like Inglis' goanna crawl and Mitchell's Kangaroo pose are mostly signature. Its not exclusive to certain players, some players have made up their own signature celebrations suited to their character or mood during games.
Wow it’s refreshing to see a foreigner respond to these videos. The best part is you continue to learn from every video you watch!! Great stuff, keep it up and please watch an AFL video soon.
You are doing a great job. It’s magic round this weekend so every team in the nrl is playing at the same stadium over one weekend. Keep it up you know what you are saying in time you will be 💯
Love that you are branching out to an Australian sport that is Rugby League! Great video! If you are keen to see some speed in this sport, look up both James Roberts and Josh Addo-Carr :)
Another great vlog. You really understand the game. There are definite similarities between Latrell and a young Inglis, the only difference being Latrell has a mistake in him. Inglis was pretty much flawless in his early days with Melbourne Storm.
Hey just want to see you make a video on valentine holmes, he’s near the top of his game in the NRL as a young rising star, and is now over in the USA trying out for the NFL through a program they have started doing scouting international talent, it would be good to see what you think he would be like in that game
You are gaining a lot of knowledge on Rugby League. You are not clueless. You could hold your own in a discussion on sport and you are very eager to learn.I enjoy your videos.
Shaun johnson , Roger tuivasa sheck , Benji marshall and Manu Vatuvei are amazing New Zealand players you should def do a reaction on any of these guys
the goanna crawl, the wallaby, these guys are very involved with their past, tradition, time, people, its a small gesture of respect to their people, the original owners of our land, much respect
I don’t know if you can find enough highlights since he was old school but you should do a video about my cousin Ellery Hanley. He used to play for a team called Wigan in Great Britain and other teams. He is actually considered the greatest rugby player ever
He played in Australia for a few years too. Played for Balmain and Wests then later went back to Balmain. He was a good player though i have never in my life heard a single person claim he was the greatest player of all time. Wingers don't get those accolades.
Thanks for viewing how we do things here..Lats is the new and upcoming player that will only get better, absolute BEAST this kid..#SydneyRoosterrrrzzzzzz #BleedRedWhiteBlue
Im just impressed you like the sport. well done. Latrell has a special reactional dexterity to his game, his movement is very instinctive. we agree that he is much like G.I special talent alright!
Both Rugby Codes ( League and Union) play an 80 minute game. Most players stay on for the entire 80 They have to play offence as well as defence - no pads - with only a half time break at the 40th. Fatigue plays a big factor. Many games go down to the wire. Guys like Lattrell are firing on all cylinders to the end.
The comments that his celebration is of an animal and also aboriginal are both correct. It is a well practiced dance representation of a Kangaroo that Indigenous Australians use in their performances. What is even more interesting is that there could also be a third meaning in recognition of the Australian NRL team being called "Kangaroos", which Latrell has played for.
Love yr reactions on NRL. If you can there is a game in Las Vegas in February 2024, You should go if you can ..Latrell Mitchell is Playing for South Sydney Rabbitohs part owed by Russell Crowe Playing against Manly part owed by Hugh Jackman .Anyway I thought I'd let you know..
