One of the best places to eat in Barcelona is shown on your opening shot! Over your head is a white building, El Conte Ingle's department store. That black row of windows at the top is the stores cafeteria. The food is great, the prices are good and the view of Catalunya square is GREAT! My wife and I had two great meals for less than $25... Give it a try !
I'm on day 4 of thr BCN trip and stumbled upon a restaurant that had a set menu for 13 euros. Had Paella as first, ribs as second with, bread, beer, and coffee. Makes much more sense after watching your vid. Today is Thursday aka Paella day
Was just in Barcelona, the hotel wanted 10.90€ for a beer. Over past Playa Espanya, at a cafe near the museum just 5€ for a very large beer and chips! Explore the city and the neighborhoods and you will save money. Sagrada Familia and Park Güell sold out both in early May and mid November, we had bought tickets in advance. Great video and good info!
When I walk a lot in Barcelona (25 km a day), I often rest in a Mc Donald's with a Latte. It's cool, there's internet, sometimes I can charge my iPad, toilet, sink. It's really worth it. Mercadona is my favorite shopping place. I love your kind, humorous information show. Your shirt is good too. (You are on it?). And I promise I won't stand out on the sidewalk as much from now on. Take a step back. Latom You also love Barcelona. It's a dream city.
Completely agree with all your advice in this video! People need to plan ahead and investigate what are the live style of the place they visit. It’s not only Barcelona around Europe each city or destination has their particular live style. Great video as always Patrick. Actually we are at Rome. Zoe and Ramon
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona had to look back at the pictures since it was mid-October’22 (feels like a week ago) ..I think after the first round of tapas we stopped taking pictures of the food… the patatas bravas were excellent and I think we had a squid ink croqueta that was absolutely delicious. One thing I have come to enjoy is your passing thru of Placa de Sant Jaume. It gives me a chance to reminisce about my favorite sandwich shop, Conesa Entrepans. YUMMO! Recommendby Triple D. I ALWAYS make a point to stop by no matter where I may be staying in town.
From someone who lived in BCN for 5 years and quickly got tired of tourists...please don't yell or scream when you're walking/hanging out in neighborhoods at night... People actually live there and have children. Also, don't stand in the way of people to take pictures. Be considerate.
Great information! Especially the tip for buying tickets ahead of time. Will I be able to skip the long line of if I buy tickets ahead of time? Thank you for sharing! Love your channel
Despite all the warnings about pickpockets I still see tons of people walking around the city or riding the metro with their phones casually sticking out of their pockets. Don't make yourself a obvious target, it's incredibly stupid.
I walk loads in Barcelona especially la ramblas and I can confirm those places that try and usher you in off the street the food is terrible. I was in Barcelona last weekend and miss it already😢. I'll be back November.
I will come to Barcelona, 3rd time now... last stay was 6 years ago.... i had great meals at the olympic port... 3-4 restaurants. Serve great fish... are they recommended these days? Think many changed last 6 years
Up the Rambla (Rambla de Catalunya, 25,) we landed at El Raco, a pizzeria with a Catan vibe. The places towards the harbor are a mistake, that I can attest to. We also found good eats in the market. We're coming back to BCN this summer.

Patrick, I just subscribed to your channel. Another great video!. Is there a train that goes from Barcelona to Girona? I just found out there is. I'm going the first 2 weeks of October. How is the weather then?
😂😂 the problem is usually people arriving too early, not too late. I would say a general idea would be kitchens closing by 11 but you’ll be able to find places open later too
I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to rent a Bicing bike in Barcelona, only to realize that you need a DNI which is basically a Spanish ID, which I definitely did not have. There's no way around it unfortunately.
Will be in Barcelona for the first time in two months. I need to know the cash situation. Do I buy Euros, or can I get by on credit cards? (To compare, when I visited Tokyo in 2016, I needed to have cash more often than not.)
You don’t need cash, almost everything can be bought with a card. I actually go over that in this video about the ATM fees. I also talk about it in my video about the 10 Things to know before visiting Barcelona!
I saw a Polish tourist in Gracia near the shops and the metro he said that he got robbed and lost 2000 euros. He said that he needed to go to Madrid with his friends. I offered him food and he refused that. I didn't give him money or a phone because he is a stranger. but if someone still sees him in Barcelona then maybe they can write a message to his family from their phone. Again to give money or a phone or to have a credit card near a complete stranger is dangerous. I hope that he is doing fine
It's obviously a scam Nobody carries 2000 euro's on them these days when everywhere takes card or apple/google pay, and he's Polish not Swiss, Poles don't have that much money lol

La Rambla is a terrible place. I can't even think of why anyone would want to eat there. It's just loaded with dirty pickpockets, ladies of the night who bother you, it's loud and the food is terrible and overpriced.

I love that you recommend people to get on the right side of escalators. It's truly annoying for locals to not respect that simple rule.
Thats what i loved about japan and then hated when i got back to america and wanted to walk up the escalator but people wouldnt move💀
In Lithuania there is no such rule and I'm a local. It's also annoying for me that there is no such rule :D
