Just bought some blue fox whip tails. Don’t have to add bait right? Just cast it as is?

Cast as is however. If you bought the 1/8th oz use 6lb line and a light setup, if you bought the 1/4oz use 8lb line and a medium setup. I always add a swivel about 8-12” up the line, cuts down on line twist. Also try to match the bait forage color with your kures

Thx Joe. I ALWAYS have a Rooster Tail tied on, no matter the season or water body. The only thing that changes is the size and color. Watch this video about Carolina Rigging a Rooster Tail I did recently!

Hello ! I have a st. croix triumph 6’6” medium fast action 1-pc spinning rod and a Dawia tatula Lt 2500 D-X H spinning reel. I will be fishing with the 1/4 oz and 1/8 oz wordens rooster tail. What name and size of fishing line you would recommend me to buy to used for casting out there to catch crappie and bluegill and bass from the bank and what name and size barrel swivel to buy also . And what are your three best colors of the wordens rooster tail for crappie and what are your three best colors wordens rooster tail for bass and what are your three best colors of wordens rooster tail for bluegills. I’m praying to the lord that he touch your heart today to answer all of my questions that I’m asking you please. I’m a 59 year old man from Montgomery Alabama. May the lord bless you and your family and your UA-cam page in 2023. Please keep them bluegills and crappies and bass UA-cam video’s coming in 2023. Can you do a little more casting from the bank with the 1/4 oz and the 1/8 oz wordens rooster tail please. Thank you so much.🙏🙏

Good morning, first off, thanks for watching and helping our channel grow, we appreciate it! The answer to your question is not simple, but here we go!
Your setup is a little big for the 1/8 oz size, but if you use 8lb flourocarbon, I get mine from RUNCL on Amazon, works well, that is a pretty good compromise. Any brand would work, 8lb green mono would work too.
I use a simple barrel swivel from wal mart, black or silver (maybe the silver helps attract fish?) and from a 6-10" leader between the main line and the lure, same line as the main line, helps keep line twist down
For bluegill and crappie I like bolder colors like a chartreuse or yellow, white and black are good too
For bass I like shad colors: white/silver blade, chartruese/gold blade for cloudy days and stained water and something dark like brown or gray with a gold blade.
I believe that color is not as important as fishing it correctly. Make sure it is running smoothly without any lure body spinning, after you catch a couple fish the body can get bent, just bend it back straight. Don't be afraid to fish around cover or in deep water fished slowly, you will lose some lures.
Follow us on FB and IG and send us your pictures, I will use them on the channel!

Don’t get the cheaper rooster tail imitation. Those blades don’t spin for nothing.

Sharpen the hooks before using. You will not lose a fish
