So, fun fact. When I did international business, the Germans had the most exclamation points in the emails. They seemed very chipper and excited about the weather! 😂
The French had fewer exclamation points, and I found out from my tutor when I studied French that unlike the Germans and English speakers, French speakers see exclamation points as expressing anger or annoyance. They see periods as calm. So I always take out ALL the exclamation points in messages and comments to French people.
It had never occurred to me to think of punctuation as communication in that way differentiated by language up until that point.

01:18 This is how we sounded in my English class when the teacher told us that to sound more like "native speakers" we had to use the apostrophe more hahaha

As an editor I love it. It was hilarious. I like how Ellipsis is personified as a creepy/suspicious guy. 😆😆

Wowww...🤣...these videos never fail to make me laugh...lol...it just so happens that in any form of text, I use ellipsis(...) to connect things...often in place of other punctuation...I actually have to consciously remind myself not to when typing formal emails and other such important stuff...I just feel like when I think, my thoughts flow into each other...ellipsis connects everything...and so what I type reads like I think...
