Details from the den of the dragon's DCMS. I am curious as to why the value of the Japanese to the House Kurita war machine has increased, as compared with earlier levels or assessment. Of course MechWarriors are assigned the color red; Draconis red. A ranking or position of 'warlord' comes across as particularly Asian/Oriental feudal. Aw, the Special Forces don't get to be called “Dragon” S.F. like the rest of the separate bodies of this Mustered Soldiery. Guess they'll have to settle for being Special. Ah, that is a very polite description of the Draconis' relationship with mercs. I'd call it outright hostile. Loyalty is core. “The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am.” Ninja police (in secret) aside, the DCMS sounds like a ruthless military culture. GDN, thank you for this subseries at last about each major faction's military organizations, and additionally for making these videos longer, even more extensive and packed than usual for one of your videos. Again, your pronunciation of foreign languages sounds excellent, Narrator. You must give yourself more credit, or at least leniency. I'll look forward to more ISF coverage. Until your next deep-delving report from the Inner Sphere, I bid you have a healthy and excellent week.
I really enjoy all your Battletech videos, great work. Personally, despite the presence of giant sword swinging mechs, I like how Battletech is a more grounded setting than compared to something like 40k, where millions upon millions die all the time, and it doesn’t seem to matter. In Battletech, things like the Succession Wars took a toll on all the factions involved, and you can really see that. Keep making awesome videos, thanks!
I do agree Battletech is a bit of fresh air when it comes to realism. Most characters act like the average humans they are instead of over the top. I love 40k but coming to Battletech afterwards feels like taking a comfy nap.
@GDN And of course, for me, I have the pleasure of you explaining this universe, and I agree, 40k is a lot of fun, but it’s nice to take a break every once in awhile.
Kurita is also my preferred House. I was really looking forward to the ISF details, but I can understand how that wouldn’t fit into this larger than typical, yet semi-simplified video. I will look forward to your fleshing out of that subject! Good stuff.
I dig it, your japanese pronunciation is quite nice, but there is a slight problem, the slide at 1:54 doesn't show Hojuhei. And not all branches are displayed in the colour scheme.
All yeah love me some draconis combine it's cool playing the samurai Mech guys in BattleTech but the black Samurai at 5:22 in the video reminds me of the real life black samurai call Yasuke born in Mozambican? If saying that right in the year 1555 or 1566 He was brought to Japan by a Italian Jesuit Yasuke soon got the attention of Oda Nobunaga him self soon he became great samurai and bodyguard
Each House has it's own issues, but the Backstabbing between the DCMS Warlords takes it to a whole nother level. The Combine could be the Strongest in the IS( and this is coming from a Davion player), if it wasn't for the Warlords trying to screw each other over( usually right in the middle of a battle, at the absolute wrong time). Things like the Kentares Massacre, and The Death to Merc's orders haven't helped either.
@@jamesricker3997 Yeah, but it was the Coordinator that stabbed Torinaga this time. Having a complete Idiot for a 1st Prince at the time didn't help the Davion cause either.
@@GrimDarkNarrator If I remember right( been a long time since I read it), he also helped screw up the Galtor Campain for the Combine. Either Takashi or Indrahar really should have taken him out sooner.
Man, I have been wondering what the combine is but couldn't find a video on your channel. Not gonna lie, I don't care if someone does an hour video about something, you always have more content in a shorter video.
For the Coordinator!
Pass the mustard
"Also, they're literally ninjas." ... can't lie, I laughed out loud.

You touched on most reasons why they might be my favorite faction, but not a place I'd like to live in.
This series is great! What a great breakdown of the DCMS which is my favorite faction!
Glad to hear it!

GD this is perfect timing sir, I am teaching BT to new players and they want to be Kuritans, they already enjoy your content
Glad its useful to you :)

I would love to cover the ISF in a separate video someday.
Great job you make with this series! Nothing like that I found so far, great appreciation!

I enjoyed the overview and I’m looking forward to more.
More will come.
Draconis Combine Forever!!!

Very Cool Video GDN, thanks for the overview;)
The DCMS marching to the Meiji restoration anthem "Battatoi" would br fitting.
love me some 40k and mechwarrior content. dank u well, Sir
Great vid, and did just join your discord 😊
Thanks.
Stellar mate
Much appreciated.
You want a dragon sandwich it only comes with mustard

If it wasn't for that backstabbing the Dragon would still be on New Avalon
I'm reminded of warlord Grieg Samsonov from the Wolves on the Border book. What a dingleberry that guy was.

Except for the long vowels in some words, your Japanese pronunciation is quite good. Keep it up!
Thanks!
It was a great video enjoy the content and learning about them. But for me being a Merc it's hard working for them.
Very true!
Live by the sword die by the sword.
For kentares
Who's next?
Federated Suns.
@@GrimDarkNarrator Yay! My favorite faction. More intrigue and backstabbing.
A house with Eastern aesthetic but ran by a Irish family.
Aye laddie.
Is javelin one of their mechs, I hate that thing, in any configuration it's such a pain in the butt to fight against...
Javelin is a Davion mech. The combine uses the other pain in the rear, the Jenner.
Hey GDN why are these guys your favorite?
Japanese aesthetic and honor code, mostly. I'm drawn to the exotic, I guess.
@@GrimDarkNarrator❤
The ISF are not the ones that are ninjas, those are the special forces
DEST
Draconis Elite Strike Teams
A DEST unit defeated a trinary of battle armor, without battle armors of their own
My bad in that case.
🙂🙂🙂
Should just call them dragon special forces
House weeb!

I actually did make a House Kurita video long ago. Should be in this same playlist.
