I would suggest trying this video a couple times per week for approximately a month. If you do that you will start noticing a solid improvement in your balance skills. And remember to comment below if you have a video request.
This is gonna sound unbelievably silly but I brush my teeth on one foot, one I the morning and the other in the evening and it's helped my balance a ton. Also give a good burn on my hip flexors holding my knees a high as I can.
I used to do parkour when i was younger but as i aged an dealt with cancer i have lost tonnes of the balance that i need to do parkour again. So i’m gunna try this out for a month doin anything with my eyes closed is ridiculously hard but i used to be there n this might help. Btw been cancer free for 7yrs now here this year is hoping for the 8th year free i go in July for another check up
Great Video. I've got my 7 year old in Karate and she loves it. She does very well & the instructors are very impressed. I'm going to use this video to help her with her balance.
Thank you Gabriel! 👍 It is a very basic but important tutorial. Traditional martial arts often work on improving the balance skills quite extensively and it's great. On the contrary, in some bad combat sports/self-defence clubs, practitioners are very quickly asked to throw whatever kicks without having the balance and core movements assimilated. Having someone with your track record demonstrating the importance of these techniques is very important. 💛💪🥊
Just finished this and it was very interesting knowing which I could and could not do. Not too sure how the video would do like you mentioned, I believe people love technique and fight gameplan videos more. I personally feel that having this out here adds even more credibility to what you teach (a good fighter may not be a good teacher) and that it is a very holistic approach. Witj this video as an example, not everyone may do balance drills, but those that do will GREATLY benefit from this. Always appreciate the quality and quantity of information you bring to us! Views and likes are one thing, but having some videos where you are unsure of its views performance and yet sharing because you feel they are important and really makes us appreciate your content so much more. Glad to be in an era where your videos are out here. Thanks coach!
Great video Gabriel! I could really feel where my weak spots in stabilising muscles is located. Which I didnt thought I had because I regularly do balance and stabilising excercises.
Gabe with some of those drills you could try looking straight up to the ceiling and then close your eyes. It gets super hard, even when just lifting a single knee. It is not very functional for combat sports but a funny challenge. Best regards!
Yes, show us more exercices for balance please, it s so importany and so forfotten! By the way, I do not use likes because I subscribed the channel and I have a file with my favorite videos
do you have a routine for stretching after you train? I've noticed since I started training that my upper back and shoulders are more tense than normal. I do stretch after training every time.
Hey man... for your issue why you said you ran barefoot... instead... start running in Vibram toe shoes.. and... eventually... start wearing just toe shoes and get rid of those regular shoes... as long as you gradually progress... your feet will LOVE you😊
Good video Gabriel. Suggestion for an advanced exercise, especially good for judoka and other grapplers. While standing on one leg I take a 35 lb. dumbell, hold it up to my shoulder and pass it over my head to the other shoulder. I do this 15 times going back and forth to the alternating shoulder. This challenges my balance by having a constantly changing and high center of gravity. Then I switch legs. Good for judoka who have to balance while having the weight of an opponent on their back.
Thank you for this so much! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. Just did this and realized how little balance i have. I guess we can do these exercises daily or even 2x a day as i dont see any consequences. What do you think? @Gabriel Varga

Doesn't sound crazy to me.

Fr doing light work while performing daily tasks is a great discipline.

That's what I do too, my karate teacher in high school taught us that to increase our balance

Littrally was wondering what balance exercises i should be doing as a beginner for muay thai/kickboxing. Thanks!!
You look jacked!
Any tips on how to increase weight while getting jacked.
Hi Gabriel, this is really good drill.
Put more effective video like 10 mins balance with music
Yes, show us more exercices for balance please, it s so importany and so forfotten! By the way, I do not use likes because I subscribed the channel and I have a file with my favorite videos
Great exercises, those eyes closed are tricky
I've always been bad with balance on my dominant side. This showed me how bad it actually was. 😂
Dance. Dancing helps with balance and coordination.
Bruce Lee was a chacha dancer.
Woo, after following along for a bit, putting on my pants is a breeze

Some of these are pretty much impossible for us old folks! ;) Even outside of a marital arts context, it's scary how much balance you lose as you age.
Its not though old tai chi partitioners have better balance then some youth
Gabriel, id like to know one thing : When do you know you have worked something enough?
You don’t stop. That’s the point.
Hi! I’ve been doing this for almost a week straight now, is it normal for me to somehow feel less balanced than the days before sometimes?
Thanks!
🌱

Vibrams have cured so many leg and foot issues I had. My feet are infinitely stronger. Amazing!

Barefoot running hurts like hell.
