The the introduction of savage Oppress sums up clone wars in a nutshell. He annihilates an entire clone battalion, jedi master, and apprentice in less than a minute, but then can't kill a teenage girl.
They also introduced Savage and then resurrected Maul anyway. Everything Maul did in TCW and its even cringier continuation Rebels could have been done by Savage on the quest to avenge his brother.
Dave Filoni did a fucky wucky before everyone was talking about it. He betrayed George, and took part in the throwing away and replacing of George's sequel trilogy. Letting Ahsoka live was the warning sign. Killing Darth Maul in Rebels was a key decision. Supporting Kathleen and Abrams in their crimes against cinema was the big crime. Making Ahsoka (the show) boring and fanfiction-y is the post scriptum of the main problem. Which was, again, betraying George.

Honestly, she was fine in Rebels. Boring compared to her Clone Wars self, but she was supposed to be the wise sage at that point. She had her moments, like her fight with Vader. But yeah, she lost ALL her charisma (and just her character in general) in Ahsoka.
She has always been a Mary Sue who can somehow fight Grievous as a kid and survive and fight Maul and win as a 17 or 18 years old padawan who has never finished her training and wasn´t practising much since she left the Jedi order. Her mess ups and mistakes don´t have consequences proportionate to the negative impact of her mess ups and mistakes. The blame for her bad behavior is shifted on Anakin or other characters. She learns a lesson in one episode or arc and then does the same mistake again, and again, and again... Her behavior is the same in the last season as it is in the first one. She doesn´t serve the plot as a character with a specific place in the story, the plot serves her. Textbook Mary Sue.

Yeah, the Clone Wars Multimedia Project was great and bridged the gap between AOTC/ROTS very well. TCW, on the other hand, feels like an insane, juvenile fan-fiction that actively damages Expanded Universe continuity as well as the continuity of the films.

At least Battle Droids excuse of so highly mass producable, cheap, and the Jedi and clones being vastly stronger than B1s individually really helped those scenes in clonewars. The issue is when they wrote the stormtroopers similarly in Rebels. Canon Fodder characters have different tier levels of effectiveness. Battle droids arent the same mechanically as Stormtroopers. Battle droids on large scale were better but stormtroopers were supposed to be accurate shots with great training.
They still made the B1's pretty dumb when compared to their movie and game counterparts, but it was at least easier to maintain the suspension of disbelief because of the prequels being the prequels.

I am pretty sure it was a decision made because the B1s had far more programming due to having to be used for a large scale war now overloading thier systems and the talkative and slower thought process speed was the side effect. While individually B1s were crap they were easy to overwhelm any force and cheap to mass produce.
Am I in a minority thinking that the B1s in Phanrom menace felt much more appropriate than those which appear later? Their voices were made more comical and they were given dialogue that was meant to be funny when their first appearance had them acting much more like *Battle Droids* should?

Doing alternate universes is the best thing they could do at this point so long as they make them entirely separate universes and not a dumb cross connecting, stakes ruining multiverse (each universe as separate from one another as they are from naruto). Disney canon leads to a landfill, if they embraced alternate storylines they could create better stories or expanded universe ones, allowing them to silently stop their current canon without the humiliation of admitting it, then all the trash could be relegated to the sequels continuity.
As someone that enjoyed even Rebels to an extent, I am glad people are now realizing Filone is a fraud, if anything the only reason the other shows like Clone Wars worked were because of everyone else working on it not because of him.

As it goes, George wanted her character to die by the end of the show, Dave compromised with him with her leaving the Order instead. Okay, but she still should have died after the show's end if that were the case. Dave had the perfect opportunity to give her a satisfying but at the same time tragic end, dying in a final duel against her former master now turned Sith Lord during the season 2 finale of Rebels. Vader killing Ahsoka would have been an excellent way to show just how far Anakin had now fallen by that point, where he feels nothing in regards to killing her. So utterly now consumed with darkness and hatred, with his only loyalty being to the dark side and nothing else. But instead, Dave completely retconned this with stupid as hell Force time travel nonsense and she's continued to live on despite serving no purpose anymore.

I cannot stand David phony bologna. He just takes other people's work, inserts his own characters into it and goes look what I've created. People praise him for his clone wars kid show. All I can say is go read the graphic novels of the clone wars and it's a lot better than phony bologna does.
A lot of arcs in clone Wars were good individually but miss a lot of essentially impirtant moments that should have been this era. Dave Filoni got worse in most series he did. He was always messy though in his writing and history. People who dont understand writing well enough dont understand the inconsistencies a lot of the clone wars had. Rebels was weaker a many ways, but had many great characters and storylines but i mostly only invested when a character from Clone Wars show or movie was on screen. Bad Batch is inconsistent but a lot of good. Mandalorian was messy from the word go but was good enough fans were trying to make it work. Ashoka was a train wreck. Tales of the Jedi is ok but needs work. Count Dooku was Clone Wars show dooku origin not AotC Dooku orgin. The movie version is far more sophisticated than the average sith. The show made him more generic. And Ashoka parts were fine but largely irrelevant. With crap we have been getting Tales being ok isnt good enough. Resistance was a Disaster. Book of Boba and maybe Kenobi have Dave filoni attached but i have to check. Go through his history again is he really a consistently good enough writer or head of a project, not to mention his recent controversial interviews that muddle things further. Honestly i think the best parts of Filoni content is when he has help of more knowledgeable people. People love to forget resistence his disaster too which was cancelled pretty much immediately and is very hard to watch, ashoka being all him writingwise which was clearly not a pro to most of the audience, mandalorian season 3, he many more blunders.

We have what 4 different continuities of the clone wars for example and none connect. Pre prequels Clone Wars where writers showed the era before lucas unwrote them 03' show i would argue best 08' show which is the most known the currently running canon Book 08 material that gets changed by shows all the time. This is has been a literal multiverse for decades but not everyone ignores it or didnt pay enough attention. Sigh it is painful that know one notices this or explains the difference. If this doesnt count as a multiverse, why? It is same during other eras. If you have a big enough group working on a continuity and there isnt a clear enough organization of what story point go where at the top this will happen no matter what. He’s written a few things, but directors shouldn’t be expected or encouraged to write. Filoni should not be directing live action, or even really writing anything. He should be directing cartoons. It is the one positive example i can think of for edgy yellow i am sorry, dont know if that game will translate to this audience. I dont want to watch 300 because of the dark backround, yellow filter and shrouded it darkness. The trailers make it look ugly. It isnt a series or storyline i have enough knowledge to care on otherwise
I hard disagree on Snyder being better than filoni but I should be clear on how little that means. I genuinely don’t think Snyder should be allowed to direct or write movies, he is that bad. Filoni I think is fine in the most literal sense of the word but at least he can make a plot make sense, not always make it good mind you but at least it makes sense.

@@jerm70 I think the issue is that, fundamentally, Dave Filoni is just an animated director and showrunner. He was serviceable in that role. He’s not a writer by trade. He’s written a few things, but directors shouldn’t be expected or encouraged to write. Filoni should not be directing live action, or even really writing anything. He should be directing cartoons. That’s what he’s good at.
