For the people that keep asking how to drop an item:
You can't. Your friend or you has to have the item snatcher sword (visible at around 0:25) and they have to hit the tool you are holding for it to drop on the ground.

You just have to hold the weapon and once they hit or kill you with it you drop it, you need the item stealer for it to work

You only have to approach the edge of your base with the weapon in hand or do you have to hit a key?

It's not necessary to do it at the edge of the base, but I prefer that way because you won't take damage. And yes, it has to be in your hand.

You can't drop items in the game and that's why the item stealer sword is the only way.
