Paintings created using sun rays among the many unique artworks on display at a ten-day exhibition

A painting exhibition featuring works of seven artists, got underway on Thursday (July 11) in Tharangambadi town in Mayiladuthurai district of Tamil Nadu.
In the ten-day exhibition visitors will be able to see artworks not just on canvas, but also on coconut shells, egg shells along with 3-dimensional paintings.
Among the unique paintings featured in this exhibition are works created using sun rays.
One of the artists has created paintings centred on his daughter. The unique feature about his paintings is the use of colours solely on the main character in the work.
The painting exhibition is being organised at a museum named after German scholar Ziegenbalg who is credited with translating many religious texts into Tamil.
More than 500 paintings are on display at the exhibition.
